داوران 13

1 قوم اسرائیل بار دیگر نسبت به خداوند گناه ورزیدند. بنابراین خداوند ایشان را مدت چهل سال به دست فلسطینی‌ها گرفتار نمود.

Bvt the children of Israel continued to commit wickednesse in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord deliuerd them into the handes of the Philistims fourtie yeere.

2 روزی فرشتهٔ خداوند بر همسر مانوح از قبیلهٔ دان که در شهر صرعه زندگی می‌کرد ظاهر شد. این زن، نازا بود و فرزندی نداشت، اما فرشته به او گفت: «هر چند تا به حال نازا بوده‌ای، ولی به‌زودی حامله شده، پسری خواهی زایید.

Then there was a man in Zorah of the familie of the Danites, named Manoah, whose wife was baren, and bare not.

And the Angel of the Lord appeared vnto the woman, and said vnto her, Beholde nowe, thou art baren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceiue, and beare a sonne.

4 مواظب باش شراب و مسکرات ننوشی و چیز حرام و ناپاک نخوری.

And nowe therefore beware that thou drinke no wine, nor strong drinke, neither eate any vncleane thing.

5 موی سر پسرت هرگز نباید تراشیده شود، چون او نذیره بوده، از بدو تولد وقف خدا خواهد بود. او شروع به رهانیدن اسرائیلی‌ها از دست فلسطینی‌ها خواهد کرد.»

For loe, thou shalt conceiue and beare a sonne, and no rasor shall come on his head: for the childe shall be a Nazarite vnto God from his birth: and he shall begin to saue Israel out of the handes of the Philistims.

6 آن زن با شتاب پیش شوهرش رفت و به او گفت: «مرد خدایی به من ظاهر شد که صورتش مانند فرشتهٔ خدا مهیب بود. من نام و نشانش را نپرسیدم و او هم اسم خود را به من نگفت.

Then the wife came, and tolde her husband, saying, A man of God came vnto me, and the facion of him was like the facion of the Angel of God exceeding feareful, but I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me his name,

7 اما گفت که من صاحب پسری خواهم شد. او همچنین به من گفت که نباید شراب و مسکرات بنوشم و چیز حرام و ناپاکی بخورم؛ زیرا کودک نذیره بوده، از شکم مادر تا دم مرگ وقف خدا خواهد بود!»

But he saide vnto me, Beholde, thou shalt conceiue, and beare a sonne, and nowe thou shalt drinke no wine, nor strong drinke, neither eate any vncleane thing: for the childe shalbe a Nazarite to God from his birth to the day of his death.

8 آنگاه مانوح چنین دعا کرد: «ای خداوند، خواهش می‌کنم تو آن مرد خدا را دوباره نزد ما بفرستی تا او به ما یاد دهد با فرزندی که به ما می‌بخشی چه کنیم.»

Then Manoah prayed to the Lord and saide, I pray thee, my Lord, Let the man of God, whome thou sentest, come againe nowe vnto vs, and teach vs what we shall doe vnto the child when he is borne.

9 خدا دعای وی را اجابت فرمود و فرشتهٔ خدا بار دیگر بر زن او که در صحرا نشسته بود، ظاهر شد. این بار هم شوهرش مانوح نزد وی نبود.

And God heard the voyce of Manoah, and the Angel of God came againe vnto the wife, as she sate in the fielde, but Manoah her husband was not with her.

10 پس او دویده، به شوهرش گفت: «آن مردی که به من ظاهر شده بود، باز هم آمده است!»

And the wife made haste and ranne, and shewed her husband and sayde vnto him, Behold, the man hath appeared vnto me, that came vnto me to day.

11 مانوح شتابان همراه همسرش نزد آن مرد آمده، از او پرسید: «آیا تو همان مردی هستی که با زن من صحبت کرده بودی؟» فرشته گفت: «بله.»

And Manoah arose and went after his wife, and came to the man, and saide vnto him, Art thou the man that spakest vnto the woman? and he said, Yea.

12 پس مانوح از او پرسید: «بعد از تولد بچه چگونه باید او را بزرگ کنیم؟»

Then Manoah sayde, Nowe let thy saying come to passe: but howe shall we order the childe and doe vnto him?

13 فرشته جواب داد: «زن تو باید از آنچه که او را منع کردم، پرهیز کند. او نباید از محصول درخت انگور بخورد یا شراب و مسکرات بنوشد. او همچنین نباید چیز حرام و ناپاک بخورد. او باید هر چه به او امر کرده‌ام بجا آورد.»

And the Angell of the Lord saide vnto Manoah, The woman must beware of all that I said vnto her.

She may eate of nothing that commeth of the vinetree: she shall not drinke wine nor strong drinke, nor eate any vncleane thing: let her obserue all that I haue commanded her.

15 آنگاه مانوح به فرشته گفت: «خواهش می‌کنم همین جا بمان تا بروم و برایت غذایی بیاورم.»

Manoah then said vnto the Angell of the Lord, I pray thee, let vs reteine thee, vntill we haue made readie a kid for thee.

16 فرشته جواب داد: «در اینجا منتظر می‌مانم، ولی چیزی نمی‌خورم. اگر می‌خواهی چیزی بیاوری، هدیه‌ای بیاور که به عنوان قربانی سوختنی به خداوند تقدیم گردد.» (مانوح هنوز نمی‌دانست که او فرشتهٔ خداوند است.)

And the Angel of the Lord said vnto Manoah, Though thou make me abide, I will not eate of thy bread, and if thou wilt make a burnt offring, offer it vnto the Lord: for Manoah knewe not that it was an Angel of the Lord.

17 سپس مانوح نام او را پرسیده، گفت: «وقتی هر آنچه گفته‌ای واقع گردد می‌خواهیم به مردم بگوییم که چه کسی این پیشگویی را کرده است!»

Againe Manoah said vnto the Angell of the Lord, What is thy name, that when thy saying is come to passe, we may honour thee?

18 فرشته گفت: «نام مرا نپرس، زیرا نام عجیبی است!»

And the Angell of the Lord saide vnto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, which is secret?

19 پس مانوح بزغاله و هدیه‌ای از آرد گرفته، آن را روی مذبحی سنگی به خداوند تقدیم کرد و فرشته عمل عجیبی انجام داد.

Then Manoah tooke a kid with a meate offering, and offered it vpon a stone vnto the Lord: and the Angell did wonderously, whiles Manoah and his wife looked on.

20 وقتی شعله‌های آتش مذبح به سوی آسمان زبانه کشید فرشته در شعلهٔ آتش به آسمان صعود نمود! مانوح و زنش با دیدن این واقعه رو بر زمین نهادند و مانوح فهمید که او فرشتهٔ خداوند بوده است. این آخرین باری بود که آنها او را دیدند.

For when the flame came vp toward heauen from the altar, the Angel of the Lord ascended vp in the flame of the altar, and Manoah and his wife behelde it, and fell on their faces vnto the grounde.

(So the Angel of the Lord did no more appeare vnto Manoah and his wife.) Then Manoah knewe that it was an Angel of the Lord.

22 مانوح به همسر خود گفت: «ما خواهیم مرد، زیرا خدا را دیدیم!»

And Manoah said vnto his wife, We shall surely dye, because we haue seene God.

23 ولی زنش به او گفت: «اگر خداوند می‌خواست ما را بکشد هدیه و قربانی ما را قبول نمی‌کرد، این وعدهٔ عجیب را به ما نمی‌داد و این کار عجیب را به عمل نمی‌آورد.»

But his wife saide vnto him, If the Lord woulde kill vs, he woulde not haue receiued a burnt offring, and a meate offring of our hands, neither would he haue shewed vs all these things, nor would now haue tolde vs any such.

24 آن زن پسری به دنیا آورد و او را «سامسون» نام نهاد. او رشد کرد و بزرگ شد و خداوند او را برکت داد.

And the wife bare a sonne, and called his name Samson: and the childe grewe, and the Lord blessed him.

25 هر وقت که سامسون به لشکرگاه دان که بین صرعه و اِشتائُل قرار داشت می‌رفت، روح خداوند وی را به غیرت می‌آورد.

And the Spirite of the Lord beganne to strengthen him in the host of Dan, betweene Zorah, and Eshtaol.
