یوشع 4
| وقتی همۀ افراد قوم اسرائیل به سلامت از رودخانه گذشتند، خداوند به یوشع فرمود: | 1 |
And it comes to pass, when all the nation has completed to pass over the Jordan, that YHWH speaks to Joshua, saying,
| «اکنون به آن دوازده نفر که از دوازده قبیله انتخاب شده‌اند | 2 |
“Take for yourselves twelve men out of the people, one man—one man out of a tribe;
| بگو که بروند و دوازده سنگ از وسط رودخانه، جایی که کاهنان آنجا ایستاده‌اند، بیرون بیاورند و آن سنگها را با خود به همان مکانی ببرند که امشب اردو می‌زنند تا به عنوان یادبود، آنها را روی هم قرار دهند.» | 3 |
and command them, saying, Take up for yourselves from this [place], from the midst of the Jordan, from the established standing-place of the feet of the priests, twelve stones, and you have removed them over with you, and placed them in the lodging-place in which you lodge tonight.”
| پس یوشع آن دوازده نفر را که از میان بنی‌اسرائیل انتخاب کرده بود، فرا خواند | 4 |
And Joshua calls to the twelve men whom he prepared out of the sons of Israel, one man—one man out of a tribe;
| و به ایشان گفت: «به میان رودخانه، جایی که کاهنان با صندوق عهد یهوه خدایتان ایستاده‌اند، بروید و هر یک از شما یک سنگ بر دوش خود بگذارید و بیاورید، یعنی دوازده سنگ به تعداد دوازده قبیلهٔ اسرائیل. | 5 |
and Joshua says to them, “Pass over before the Ark of your God YHWH into the midst of the Jordan, and each of you lift up one stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Israel,
| ما آنها را به عنوان یادبود در اینجا می‌گذاریم تا وقتی در آینده فرزندانتان بپرسند: این سنگها چیست؟ | 6 |
so that this is a sign in your midst when your children ask hereafter, saying, What [are] these stones to you?
| به آنها بگویید که این یادگار روزی است که جریان آب رود اردن قطع شد و در میان آن، راه خشکی پدید آمد تا صندوق عهد خداوند از آن عبور کند! این سنگها برای قوم اسرائیل یادگاری جاودانه از این معجزهٔ بزرگ خواهند بود.» | 7 |
That you have said to them, Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off, at the presence of the Ark of the Covenant of YHWH; in its passing over into the Jordan the waters of the Jordan were cut off; and these stones have been for a memorial to the sons of Israel for all time.”
| آن دوازده نفر طبق دستور یوشع عمل نمودند و دوازده سنگ از وسط رودخانه آوردند، درست همان‌گونه که خداوند به یوشع فرموده بود، یعنی برای هر قبیلۀ اسرائیل یک سنگ. سنگها را به محلی که در آنجا توقف نموده بودند بردند و یادبودی بنا کردند. | 8 |
And the sons of Israel do so as Joshua commanded, and take up twelve stones out of the midst of the Jordan, as YHWH has spoken to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Israel, and remove them over with them to the lodging-place, and place them there,
| یوشع در وسط رودخانه، جایی که کاهنان ایستاده بودند نیز دوازده سنگ دیگر به عنوان یادگار روی هم گذاشت که تا به امروز باقیست. | 9 |
even the twelve stones Joshua has raised up out of the midst of the Jordan, the place of the standing of the feet of the priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant, and they are there to this day.
| کاهنان با صندوق عهد آنقدر در وسط رودخانه ماندند تا قوم اسرائیل آنچه را که خداوند به یوشع فرموده بود به انجام رساندند، درست همان‌گونه که موسی به یوشع توصیه کرده بود. پس قوم اسرائیل با شتاب از رود اردن گذشتند، | 10 |
And the priests carrying the Ark are standing in the midst of the Jordan until the completion of the whole thing which YHWH commanded Joshua to speak to the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua, and the people hurry and pass over.
| و پس از آنکه به آن سوی رودخانه رسیدند، کاهنان هم با صندوق عهد خداوند از رودخانه بیرون آمدند. | 11 |
And it comes to pass, when all the people have completed to pass over, that the Ark of YHWH passes over, and the priests, in the presence of the people;
| مردان جنگی قبایل رئوبین، جاد و نصف قبیلهٔ منسی که چهل هزار نفر بودند مسلح شدند و چنانکه موسی پیش از فوت خود به ایشان گفته بود، پیشاپیش بقیهٔ قوم عبور کرده، در حضور خداوند، به سوی دشت اریحا پیش رفتند. | 12 |
and the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, pass over, by fifties, before the sons of Israel, as Moses had spoken to them;
| 13 |
about forty thousand, armed ones of the host, passed over before YHWH for battle, to the plains of Jericho.
| در آن روز، خداوند یوشع را در نظر تمام قوم اسرائیل سرافراز نمود. قوم اسرائیل، یوشع را در تمام مدت عمرش مانند موسی احترام می‌کردند. | 14 |
On that day YHWH has made Joshua great in the eyes of all Israel, and they fear him, as they feared Moses, all [the] days of his life.
| یوشع به امر خداوند به کاهنانی که صندوق عهد را حمل می‌کردند گفت: «از بستر رود اردن بیرون بیایید.» | 15 |
And YHWH speaks to Joshua, saying,
| 16 |
“Command the priests carrying the Ark of the Testimony, and they come up out of the Jordan.”
| 17 |
And Joshua commands the priests, saying, “Come up out of the Jordan.”
| به محض اینکه کاهنان بیرون آمدند، آب رودخانه دوباره به جریان افتاد و مانند قبل بر کناره‌هایش نیز جاری شد. | 18 |
And it comes to pass, in the coming up of the priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant of YHWH out of the midst of the Jordan—the soles of the feet of the priests have been drawn up into the dry ground—and the waters of the Jordan return to their place, and go over all its banks as before.
| این معجزه در روز دهم ماه اول اتفاق افتاد. آن روز، تمام مردم اسرائیل از رود اردن گذشتند و در جلجال، در سمت شرقی شهر اریحا اردو زدند. | 19 |
And the people have come up out of the Jordan on the tenth of the first month, and encamp in Gilgal, in the extremity east of Jericho;
| آنجا در جلجال یوشع دوازده سنگی را که از وسط رودخانه آورده بود، به عنوان یادبود روی هم گذاشت. | 20 |
and these twelve stones, which they have taken out of the Jordan, Joshua has raised up in Gilgal.
| بار دیگر یوشع مفهوم آن سنگها را برای قوم اسرائیل بیان کرد: «در آینده اگر فرزندانتان بپرسند: این تودۀ سنگها در اینجا برای چیست؟ | 21 |
And he speaks to the sons of Israel, saying, “When your sons ask their fathers hereafter, saying, What [are] these stones?
| به آنها بگویید که این سنگها یادآور عبور معجزآسای قوم اسرائیل از میان رود اردن است!» | 22 |
Then you have caused your sons to know, saying, Israel passed over this Jordan on dry land;
| برای ایشان توضیح دهید که چگونه خداوند جریان آب را قطع کرد و از وسط رودخانه، راه خشکی پدید آورد تا همهٔ شما عبور کنید! این شبیه معجزه‌ای است که خداوند چهل سال قبل انجام داد، وقتی دریای سرخ را شکافت و از وسط آن، راه خشکی برای عبور بنی‌اسرائیل پدید آورد. | 23 |
because your God YHWH dried up the waters of the Jordan at your presence, until your passing over, as your God YHWH did to the Red Sea which He dried up at our presence until our passing over;
| خداوند این معجزه را انجام داد تا همهٔ مردم جهان بدانند که قدرت او عظیم است و همچنین شما نیز همیشه او را اطاعت کنید. | 24 |
so that all the people of the land know the hand of YHWH—that it [is] strong, so that you have feared your God YHWH [for] all the days.”
