یوحنا 13

1 شب عید پِسَح فرا رسید. عیسی می‌دانست که وقت آن رسیده که این جهان را ترک کند و نزد پدر برود. او که شاگردانش را در طول خدمت زمینی‌اش محبت کرده بود، اکنون محبت خود را به کمال به ایشان نشان داد.

Before the feast day of the Passover, Jesus knew that the hour was approaching when he would pass from this world to the Father. And since he had always loved his own who were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

2 وقت شام بود، و ابلیس از پیش، یهودا، پسر شمعون اسخریوطی را برانگیخته بود که به عیسی خیانت کند.

And when the meal had taken place, when the devil had now put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray him,

3 عیسی می‌دانست که پدر اختیار همه چیز را به دست او سپرده، و اینکه از نزد خدا آمده و باید بار دیگر نزد او بازگردد.

knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands and that he came from God and was going to God,

4 پس، از سر شام بلند شد، لباس خود را درآورد، حوله‌ای به کمر بست،

he rose up from the meal, and he set aside his vestments, and when he had received a towel, he wrapped it around himself.

5 آب در لگن ریخت و به شستن پاهای شاگردان و خشک کردن آنها با حوله پرداخت.

Next he put water into a shallow bowl, and he began to wash the feet of the disciples and to wipe them with the towel with which he was wrapped.

6 وقتی به شمعون پطرس رسید، پطرس به او گفت: «سرورم، تو نباید پاهای ما را بشویی.»

And then he came to Simon Peter. And Peter said to him, “Lord, would you wash my feet?”

7 عیسی جواب داد: «اکنون علّت کار مرا درک نمی‌کنی؛ ولی یک روز خواهی فهمید.»

Jesus responded and said to him: “What I am doing, you do not now understand. But you shall understand it afterward.”

8 پطرس بار دیگر با اصرار گفت: «نه، هرگز نمی‌گذارم پاهای مرا بشویی.» عیسی فرمود: «اگر پاهای تو را نشویم تو به من تعلق نخواهی داشت.» (aiōn g165)

Peter said to him, “You shall never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you will have no place with me.” (aiōn g165)

9 پطرس با عجله گفت: «سرورم، پس حالا که اینطور است، نه فقط پا، بلکه دست و صورتم را نیز بشوی.»

Simon Peter said to him, “Then Lord, not only my feet, but also my hands and my head!”

10 عیسی جواب داد: «کسی که تازه حمام کرده، فقط کافی است که پاهای خود را بشوید تا تمام بدنش پاکیزه شود. شما نیز پاکید ولی نه همه.»

Jesus said to him: “He who is washed need only wash his feet, and then he will be entirely clean. And you are clean, but not all.”

11 چون عیسی می‌دانست چه کسی به او خیانت خواهد کرد؛ از این جهت گفت که همهٔ شاگردان پاک نیستند.

For he knew which one would betray him. For this reason, he said, “You are not all clean.”

12 پس از آنکه پاهای شاگردان خود را شست، لباس خود را پوشید و سر میز شام نشست و پرسید: «آیا فهمیدید چرا این کار را کردم؟

And so, after he washed their feet and received his vestments, when he had sat down at table again, he said to them: “Do you know what I have done for you?

13 شما مرا استاد و خداوند می‌خوانید، و درست می‌گویید چون همین‌طور نیز هست.

You call me Teacher and Lord, and you speak well: for so I am.

14 حال، اگر من که خداوند و استاد شما هستم، پاهای شما را شستم، شما نیز باید پاهای یکدیگر را بشویید.

Therefore, if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash the feet of one another.

15 من به شما سرمشقی دادم تا شما نیز همین‌طور رفتار کنید.

For I have given you an example, so that just as I have done for you, so also should you do.

16 چون مسلماً خدمتکار از اربابش بالاتر نیست و قاصد نیز از فرستنده‌اش مهمتر نمی‌باشد.

Amen, amen, I say to you, the servant is not greater than his Lord, and the apostle is not greater than he who sent him.

17 در زندگی، سعادت در این است که به آنچه می‌دانید، عمل کنید.»

If you understand this, you shall be blessed if you will do it.

18 «این را به همهٔ شما نمی‌گویم، چون تک‌تک شما را که انتخاب کرده‌ام، خوب می‌شناسم. اما آنچه در کتب مقدّس آمده باید جامۀ عمل بپوشد که می‌فرماید:”کسی که نان و نمک مرا می‌خورْد، دشمن من شده است.“

I am not speaking about all of you. I know those whom I have chosen. But this is so that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats bread with me shall lift up his heel against me.’

19 این را به شما می‌گویم تا وقتی واقع شد، به من ایمان بیاورید.

And I tell you this now, before it happens, so that when it has happened, you may believe that I am.

20 بدانید که هر کس فرستادۀ مرا قبول کند، مرا پذیرفته است و آنکه مرا قبول کند فرستندۀ مرا پذیرفته است.»

Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives anyone whom I send, receives me. And whoever receives me, receives him who sent me.”

21 پس از این سخن، عیسی به شدت محزون شد و با دلی شکسته گفت: «براستی به شما می‌گویم که یکی از شما به من خیانت خواهد کرد.»

When Jesus had said these things, he was troubled in spirit. And he bore witness by saying: “Amen, amen, I say to you, that one among you shall betray me.”

22 شاگردان مات و مبهوت به یکدیگر نگاه می‌کردند و در حیرت بودند که عیسی این را درباره چه کسی می‌گوید.

Therefore, the disciples looked around at one another, uncertain about whom he spoke.

23 یکی از شاگردان، که عیسی دوستش می‌داشت، کنار او تکیه زده بود.

And leaning against the bosom of Jesus was one of his disciples, the one whom Jesus loved.

24 شمعون پطرس به او اشاره کرد تا بپرسد کیست که دست به چنین کار وحشتناکی می‌زند.

Therefore, Simon Peter motioned to this one and said to him, “Who is it that he is speaking about?”

25 پس، آن شاگرد به عیسی نزدیکتر شد و پرسید: «خداوندا، آن شخص کیست؟»

And so, leaning against the chest of Jesus, he said to him, “Lord, who is it?”

26 فرمود: «آن کسی است که یک لقمه می‌گیرم و به او می‌دهم.» آنگاه لقمه‌ای گرفت و آن را به یهودا پسر شمعون اسخریوطی داد.

Jesus responded, “It is he to whom I shall extend the dipped bread.” And when he had dipped the bread, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, son of Simon.

27 به محض اینکه لقمه از گلوی یهودا پایین رفت، شیطان داخل او شد. پس عیسی به او فرمود: «کاری را که می‌خواهی انجام دهی، زودتر عملی کن!»

And after the morsel, Satan entered into him. And Jesus said to him, “What you are going to do, do quickly.”

28 هیچ‌کس به هنگام شام منظور عیسی را نفهمید.

Now none of those sitting at table knew why he had said this to him.

29 فقط بعضی گمان کردند که چون پول دست یهودا بود، عیسی به او دستور داد که برود و خوراک بخرد و یا چیزی به فقرا بدهد.

For some were thinking that, because Judas held the purse, that Jesus had told him, “Buy those things which are needed by us for the feast day,” or that he might give something to the needy.

30 یهودا لقمه را خورد و بی‌درنگ در تاریکی شب بیرون رفت.

Therefore, having accepted the morsel, he went out immediately. And it was night.

31 به محض اینکه یهودا از اتاق خارج شد، عیسی فرمود: «وقت آن رسیده است که پسر انسان وارد جلالش شود و خدا نیز توسط او جلال یابد.

Then, when he had gone out, Jesus said: “Now the Son of man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him.

32 خدا نیز به‌زودی بزرگی و جلال خود را به من خواهد داد.

If God has been glorified in him, then God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him without delay.

33 ای فرزندان من که برایم بسیار عزیز هستید، چقدر این لحظات کوتاهند. به‌زودی باید شما را بگذارم و بروم. آنگاه همان‌طور که به سران قوم یهود گفتم، همه جا به دنبال من خواهید گشت، اما مرا نخواهید یافت و نخواهید توانست به جایی که می‌روم، بیایید.

Little sons, for a brief while, I am with you. You shall seek me, and just as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you are not able to go,’ so also I say to you now.

34 «پس حال، دستوری تازه به شما می‌دهم: یکدیگر را دوست بدارید همان‌گونه که من شما را دوست می‌دارم.

I give you a new commandment: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, so also must you love one another.

35 محبت شما به یکدیگر، به جهان ثابت خواهد کرد که شما شاگردان من می‌باشید.»

By this, all shall recognize that you are my disciples: if you will have love for one another.”

36 شمعون پطرس پرسید: «سرور من، کجا می‌خواهید بروید؟» عیسی جواب داد: «حال، نمی‌توانی با من بیایی، ولی بعد به دنبالم خواهی آمد.»

Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus responded: “Where I am going, you are not able to follow me now. But you shall follow afterward.”

37 پطرس پرسید: «سرورم، چرا نمی‌توانم حالا بیایم؟ من حتی حاضرم جانم را فدای تو کنم.»

Peter said to him: “Why am I unable to follow you now? I will lay down my life for you!”

38 عیسی جواب داد: «تو جانت را فدای من می‌کنی؟ همین امشب پیش از بانگ خروس، سه بار مرا انکار کرده، خواهی گفت که مرا نمی‌شناسی.»

Jesus answered him: “You will lay down your life for me? Amen, amen, I say to you, the rooster will not crow, until you deny me three times.”
