ارمیا 7

1 آنگاه خداوند به ارمیا فرمود

The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,

2 که کنار دروازهٔ خانهٔ خداوند بایستد و این پیام را به گوش مردم برساند: ای مردم یهودا، ای تمام کسانی که در اینجا خداوند را عبادت می‌کنید، به کلام خداوند گوش فرا دهید!

“Stand at the gate of Yahweh's house and proclaim this word! Say, 'Hear the word of Yahweh, all you of Judah, you who enter these gates to worship Yahweh.

3 خداوند لشکرهای آسمان، خدای قوم اسرائیل می‌فرماید: «اگر راهها و اعمالتان را تغییر داده، اصلاح کنید، اجازه خواهم داد در سرزمین خود باقی بمانید.

Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, says this: Make your ways and practices good, and I will let you continue to live in this place.

4 فریب سخنان دروغ را نخورید، فکر نکنید که چون خانهٔ من در اینجاست نخواهم گذاشت که اورشلیم ویران شود.

Do not entrust yourself to deceitful words and say, “Temple of Yahweh! Temple of Yahweh! Temple of Yahweh!”

5 من فقط در صورتی اجازه خواهم داد در این سرزمینی که جاودانه به پدرانتان داده‌ام باقی بمانید که از کردار و رفتار بد دست کشیده، با یکدیگر با درستی و انصاف رفتار کنید، از یتیمان، بیوه‌زنان و غریبان بهره‌کشی نکنید، از ریختن خون بی‌گناهان دست بردارید و از پیروی خدایان دیگر که باعث زیان و لطمهٔ شماست روی گردان شوید.

For if you actually make your ways and practices good; if you completely execute justice between a man and his neighbor—

if you do not exploit the one staying in the land, the orphan, or the widow and do not pour out innocent blood in this place, and do not walk after other gods to your own harm—

then I will let you stay in this place, in the land that I gave to your ancestors from ancient times and forever.

8 «اما شما به سخنان دروغ و بی‌پایه امید بسته‌اید؛

Behold! You are trusting in deceitful words that do not help you.

9 دزدی می‌کنید، مرتکب زنا و قتل می‌شوید، به دروغ قسم می‌خورید، برای بت بعل بخور می‌سوزانید و خدایان بیگانه را می‌پرستید،

Do you steal, kill, and commit adultery? Do you swear deceitfully and offer incense to Baal and walk after other gods whom you have not known?

10 و بعد به خانه‌ای که به نام من نامیده شده آمده، در حضور من می‌ایستید و می‌گویید:”ما در امن و امانیم!“و باز برمی‌گردید و غرق کارهای زشتتان می‌شوید.

Then do you come and stand before me in this house that is called by my name and say, “We are saved,” so you can do all of these abominations?

11 مگر خانه‌ای که نام مرا بر خود دارد، آشیانهٔ دزدان است؟ هر آنچه در آنجا می‌کنید، می‌بینم.

Is this house, which carries my name, a den of bandits in your eyes? But behold, I have seen it—this is Yahweh's declaration.'

12 «به شیلوه بروید، به شهری که نخستین عبادتگاه من در آن قرار داشت، و ببینید به سبب گناهان قومم اسرائیل، با آن چه کردم!

'So go to my place that was in Shiloh, where I allowed my name to stay there in the beginning, and look at what I did to it because of the wickedness of my people Israel.

13 به سبب تمام گناهانی که مرتکب شده‌اید همان بلا را بر سر شما نیز خواهم آورد. با اینکه بارها در این مورد با شما سخن گفته، هشدار دادم و شما را فرا خواندم، ولی شما نه گوش کردید و نه جواب دادید. پس همان‌طور که اجازه دادم خانهٔ مرا در شیلوه خراب کنند، اجازه خواهم داد تا این خانه را نیز خراب کنند. بله، این خانه را که به نام من بوده و چشم امیدتان به آن است و این سرزمین را که به شما و به پدرانتان داده‌ام، ویران خواهم کرد؛

So now, on account of your doing all of these practices—this is Yahweh's declaration—I spoke to you time and time again, but you did not listen. I summoned you, but you did not answer.

Therefore, what I did to Shiloh, I will also do to this house that is called by my name, the house in which you have trusted, this place that I gave to you and your ancestors.

15 همان‌طور که برادران افرایمی شما را تبعید نمودم، شما را نیز تبعید خواهم کرد.

For I will send you out from before me just as I had sent out all your brothers, all the descendants of Ephraim.'

16 «پس تو ای ارمیا، دیگر برای این قوم دعای خیر نکن و برای آنها گریه و زاری و شفاعت ننما، چون نخواهم پذیرفت.

As for you, Jeremiah, do not pray for this people, and do not lift up a lamenting wail or say a prayer on their behalf, and do not petition me, for I will not listen to you.

17 مگر نمی‌بینی در تمام شهرهای یهودا و در کوچه‌های اورشلیم چه می‌کنند؟

Do you not see what they are doing in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

18 ببین چطور بچه‌ها هیزم جمع می‌کنند، پدرها آتش می‌افروزند، زنها خمیر درست می‌کنند تا برای بت”ملکۀ آسمان“گرده‌های نان بپزند و برای سایر خدایانشان هدایای نوشیدنی تقدیم کنند و به این ترتیب مرا به خشم آورند!

The children are gathering wood and the fathers kindling the fire! The women are kneading dough to make cakes for the queen of the heavens and pour out drink offerings for other gods so that they will provoke me.

19 آیا این کارها، به من لطمه می‌زنند؟ بیشتر از همه به خودشان ضرر می‌رسانند و خودشان را رسوا می‌کنند.

Are they truly provoking me?—this is Yahweh's declaration—is it not themselves whom they are provoking, so that shame is on them?

20 پس من آتش خشم و غضب خود را فرو خواهم ریخت. بله، شعله‌های خشم و غضب من، این عبادتگاه را سوزانده، مردم، حیوانات، درختان و محصولات زمین را از میان خواهد برد و کسی نخواهد توانست آن را خاموش کند!»

Therefore the Lord Yahweh says this, 'See, my anger and wrath will gush out onto this place, on both man and beast, on the tree in the fields and the fruit on the ground. It will burn and never be extinguished.'

21 خداوند لشکرهای آسمان، خدای اسرائیل می‌فرماید: «گوشت قربانیهایی را که ذبح می‌کنید چه آنهایی را که مجاز به خوردنشان هستید، چه آنهایی که خوردنشان ممنوع است، همه را بخورید،

Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel says this, 'Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices and the meat from them.

22 چون وقتی پدران شما را از مصر بیرون آوردم، و با ایشان سخن گفته، دستورهای خود را به ایشان دادم از ایشان هدیه و قربانی نخواستم،

For when I brought your ancestors out from the land of Egypt, I did not require anything from them. I gave them no command about matters of burnt offerings and sacrifices.

23 بلکه آنچه به ایشان فرموده بودم این بود: از من پیروی کنید تا من خدای شما باشم و شما قوم من! فقط به هر راهی که من می‌گویم، بروید تا سعادتمند شوید.

I only gave them this command, “Listen to my voice, and I will be your God and you will be my people. So walk in all the ways that I am commanding you, so that it may go well with you.”

24 ولی ایشان گوش فرا ندادند و توجهی ننمودند، بلکه به دنبال هوس دل خود رفتند و به جای پیشرفت و بهتر شدن، وضعشان بدتر شد.

But they did not listen or pay attention. They lived by their own stubborn plans of their wicked hearts, so they went backwards, not forward.

25 از روزی که پدران شما از مصر بیرون آمدند تا به امروز، خادمین یعنی انبیای خود را هر روز نزد شما فرستادم.

Ever since the day when your ancestors went out from the land of Egypt until this day, I have sent every one of my servants, my prophets, to you. I persisted in sending them.

26 ولی نه به سخنانشان گوش دادید و نه به ایشان اعتنایی کردید، بلکه سختدل و یاغی شده بدتر از پدرانتان رفتار نمودید.

But they did not listen to me. They paid no attention. Instead, they hardened their necks. They were more wicked than their ancestors.'

27 «بنابراین ای ارمیا، هر آنچه می‌فرمایم به ایشان بگو، ولی انتظار نداشته باش گوش بدهند! به ایشان هشدار بده، ولی منتظر پاسخی نباش.

So proclaim all these words to them, but they will not listen to you. Proclaim these things to them, but they will not answer you.

28 بگو که ایشان قومی هستند که نمی‌خواهند دستورهای خداوند، خدای خود را اطاعت کنند و نمی‌خواهند درس عبرت بگیرند، چون راستی از بین رفته و سخنی نیز از آن به میان نمی‌آید.»

Say to them: This is a nation that does not listen to the voice of Yahweh its God and does not receive discipline. Truth is destroyed and cut off from their mouths.

29 خداوند می‌فرماید: «ای اهالی اورشلیم، عزاداری کنید؛ موی خود را به نشانهٔ شرم تراشیده، دور بریزید؛ بر بلندیها برآیید و نوحه‌سرایی کنید، چون من از شما خشمگین هستم و شما را طرد کرده و ترک نموده‌ام.

Cut off your hair and shave yourself, and throw away your hair. Sing a funeral song over the open places. For Yahweh has rejected and abandoned this generation in his rage.

30 اهالی یهودا در برابر چشمان من شرارت ورزیده‌اند و بتهای خود را به خانهٔ من آورده و آنجا را نجس ساخته‌اند.

For the sons of Judah have done evil in my eye—this is Yahweh's declaration—they have set their detestable things in the house that is called by my name, in order to defile it.

31 در وادی”ابن هنوم“نیز مذبحی به نام”توفت“بنا نموده‌اند و در آنجا پسران و دختران خود را برای بتها زنده‌زنده در آتش، قربانی می‌کنند کار زشت و هولناکی که نه امر فرموده بودم و نه حتی از خاطرم گذشته بود.

Then they built the high place of Topheth that is in the Valley of Ben Hinnom. They did this to burn their sons and daughters in fire—something that I did not command, nor did it enter my mind.

32 بنابراین روزی خواهد رسید که دیگر به آنجا”توفت“یا وادی”ابن هنوم“نخواهند گفت، بلکه آن را”وادی کشتارگاه“خواهند نامید، چون اجساد بی‌شماری از کشته‌شدگان را در آنجا دفن خواهند کرد، طوری که جایی باقی نماند؛

So see, days are coming—this is Yahweh's declaration—when it will no longer be called Topheth or Valley of Ben Hinnom. It will be the Valley of Slaughter; they will bury bodies in Topheth until there is no room left.

33 و لاشه‌های قوم من خوراک پرندگان آسمان و حیوانات بیابان خواهند شد و کسی باقی نخواهد ماند که آنها را براند.

The corpses of this people will be food for the birds of the skies and the beasts of the earth, and there will be no one to frighten them away.

34 من آوای سرود و شادمانی و هلهلهٔ عروس و داماد را از شهرهای یهودا و کوچه‌های اورشلیم قطع خواهم نمود و این سرزمین را به ویرانه مبدل خواهم ساخت.»

I will put an end to the cities of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem, the sound of joy and the sound of gladness, the sound of the groom and the sound of the bride, for the land will become a desolation.”
