ارمیا 48
| خداوند لشکرهای آسمان، خدای اسرائیل، دربارهٔ موآب چنین می‌فرماید: «وای به حال شهر نبو، زیرا خراب خواهد شد. قریه تایم و قلعه‌هایش ویران و تسخیر شده، مردمش رسوا خواهند گشت. | 1 |
Concerning Moab: “Thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: Woe to Nebo, for it is spoiled, Kiriathaim has been captured [and] put to shame, The high tower has been put to shame, Indeed, it has been broken down.
| عظمت و شکوه موآب از بین خواهد رفت. مردم شهر حشبون برای خرابی آن نقشه‌ها کشیده‌اند. می‌گویند:”بیایید ریشهٔ این قوم را از بیخ و بن برکنیم.“شهر مدمین در سکوت و خاموشی فرو خواهد رفت، چون دشمن، ساکنانش را تار و مار خواهد کرد. مردم حورونایم فریاد خواهند زد:”نابودی، شکست بزرگ! موآب از بین رفت!“کودکانش نیز ناله سر خواهند داد. | 2 |
There is no longer praise of Moab, In Heshbon they devised evil against her: Come, and we cut it off from [being] a nation, Also, O Madmen, you are cut off, A sword goes after you.

A voice of a cry [is] from Horonaim, Spoiling and great destruction.

Moab has been destroyed, Her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.
| فراریان، گریه‌کنان از تپه‌های لوحیت بالا خواهند رفت و در سرازیری حورونایم فریاد شکست سر داده، خواهند گفت: | 5 |
For the ascent of Luhith with weeping, Weeping goes up, For in the descent of Horonaim Adversaries have heard a cry of desolation.
| ”برای حفظ جانتان فرار کنید. در بیابانها پنهان شوید!“ | 6 |
Flee, deliver yourselves, You are as a naked thing in a wilderness.
| ای موآب چون به ثروت و توانایی خود تکیه کردی، پس هلاک خواهی شد، و خدایت، کموش نیز با کاهنان و بزرگانش به سرزمینهای دور تبعید خواهند گردید! | 7 |
For because of your trusting in your works, And in your treasures, even you are captured, And Chemosh has gone out in a removal, His priests and his heads together.
| «تمام روستاها و شهرها، چه در دشت باشند چه در دره، همگی خراب خواهند شد، چون من، خداوند، این را گفته‌ام. | 8 |
And a spoiler comes to every city, And no city escapes, And the valley has perished, And the plain has been destroyed, as YHWH said.
| کاش موآب بال می‌داشت و می‌توانست پرواز کند و بگریزد، چون شهرهایش خراب خواهند شد و کسی در آنها باقی نخواهد ماند. | 9 |
Give wings to Moab, that she may go forth and flee away, And her cities are for a desolation, Without an inhabitant in them.
| ملعون باد کسی که شمشیرش را با خون تو سرخ نکند! ملعون باد کسی که کاری را که خداوند به او سپرده، به سستی انجام دهد! | 10 |
Cursed [is] he who is doing the work of YHWH slothfully, And cursed [is] he Who is withholding his sword from blood.
| «موآب از ابتدای تاریخ خود تاکنون، در امنیت و به دور از جنگ و جدال به سر برده و هرگز به تبعید نرفته است. موآب همچون شراب دست نخورده‌ای است که از کوزه‌ای به کوزه‌ای دیگر ریخته نشده و به همین دلیل طعم و بوی آن تغییر نکرده است. | 11 |
Moab is secure from his youth, And he [is] at rest for his preserved things, And he has not been emptied out from vessel to vessel, And he has not gone into captivity, Therefore his taste has remained in him, And his fragrance has not been changed.
| ولی به‌زودی زمانی فرا خواهد رسید که من افرادی را به سراغش خواهم فرستاد تا کوزه‌هایش را بر زمین، خالی کنند و بشکنند! | 12 |
Therefore, behold, days are coming, A declaration of YHWH, And I have sent wanderers to him, And they have caused him to wander, And they empty out his vessels, And they dash his bottles in pieces.
| سرانجام، موآب از وجود خدای خود کموش خجل خواهد شد، همان‌طور که بنی‌اسرائیل در بیت‌ئیل از گوسالهٔ طلایی خود شرمسار شد. | 13 |
And Moab has been ashamed because of Chemosh, As the house of Israel has been ashamed Because of Beth-El, their confidence.
| «چگونه می‌توانید به خود ببالید و بگویید:”ما همگی شجاع و جنگ آزموده هستیم؟“ | 14 |
How do you say, We [are] mighty, And men of strength for battle?
| حال آنکه موآب ویران خواهد شد و بهترین جوانانش به قتل خواهند رسید. من که پادشاه جهان هستم و نامم خداوند لشکرهای آسمان می‌باشد، این را گفته‌ام. | 15 |
Moab is spoiled, and has gone up [from] her cities, And the choice of its young men Have gone down to slaughter, An affirmation of the King, YHWH of Hosts [is] His Name.
| بلا و مصیبت به‌زودی بر موآب نازل خواهد شد. | 16 |
The destruction of Moab is near to come, And his calamity has hurried exceedingly.
| «ای تمام قومهای مجاور موآب، ای همهٔ کسانی که با شهرت و آوازهٔ او آشنایید، برای او ماتم بگیرید! ببینید قدرت و عظمت او چگونه در هم شکسته است! | 17 |
Bemoan for him, all you around him, And all knowing his name, say, How it has been broken, the staff of strength, The rod of beauty!
| ای اهالی دیبون، از شکوه و جلالتان به زیر بیایید و به خاک سیاه بنشینید، چون کسانی که موآب را ویران می‌کنند، دیبون را نیز ویران خواهند کرد و تمام برج و باروهایش را خراب خواهند نمود. | 18 |
Come down from glory, sit in thirst, O inhabitant, daughter of Dibon, For a spoiler of Moab has come up to you, He has destroyed your fortifications.
| ای اهالی عروعیر، بر سر راه بایستید و تماشا کنید و از فراریان و بازماندگان موآب بپرسید که چه اتفاقی افتاده است. | 19 |
Stand on the way, and watch, O inhabitant of Aroer, Ask the fugitive and escaped, Say, What has happened?
| آنها جواب خواهند داد:”موآب به دست دشمن افتاده است. گریه و فریاد سر دهید و در کناره‌های رود ارنون اعلام کنید که موآب ویران شده است.“ | 20 |
Moab has been put to shame, For it has been broken down, Howl and cry, declare in Arnon, For Moab is spoiled,
| «تمام شهرهای واقع در فلات نیز مجازات و خراب شده‌اند، یعنی شهرهای حولون، یهصه، میفاعت، | 21 |
And judgment has come to the land of the plain—to Holon, And to Jahazah, and on Mephaath,
| دیبون، نبو، بیت‌دبلتایم، | 22 |
And on Dibon, and on Nebo, And on Beth-Diblathaim, and on Kirathaim,
| قریه تایم، بیت‌جامول، بیت‌معون، | 23 |
And on Beth-Gamul, and on Beth-Meon,
| قریوت، بصره، و تمام شهرهای دور و نزدیک سرزمین موآب.» | 24 |
And on Kerioth, and on Bozrah, And on all cities of the land of Moab, The far off and the near.
| خداوند می‌فرماید: «قدرت موآب در هم شکسته است، شاخهایش بریده شده و بازوهایش شکسته است. | 25 |
The horn of Moab has been cut down, And his arm has been broken, A declaration of YHWH.
| بگذارید موآب مثل یک مست، تلوتلو بخورد و بیفتد، چون از فرمان خداوند سرپیچی کرده است. او در قی خود می‌غلتد، به طوری که همه به او می‌خندند. | 26 |
Declare him drunk, For he made himself great against YHWH And Moab has struck in his vomit, And he has been for a derision—even he.
| ای موآب، به یاد آور چگونه بنی‌اسرائیل را مسخره می‌کردی. با او چنان رفتار می‌کردی که گویی به همراه دزدان دستگیر شده است! | 27 |
And was Israel not the derision to you? Was he found among thieves? For since your words concerning him, You bemoan yourself.
| «ای اهالی موآب، از شهرهای خود فرار کنید و مثل فاخته‌ها که در شکاف صخره‌ها آشیانه می‌سازند، در غارها ساکن شوید. | 28 |
Forsake cities, and dwell in a rock, You inhabitants of Moab, And be as a dove making a nest in the passages of a pit’s mouth.
| غرور موآب را همه شنیده‌اند؛ همه از تکبر، گستاخی و دل مغرور او باخبرند. | 29 |
We have heard of the arrogance of Moab, Exceedingly proud! His haughtiness, and his arrogance, And his pride, and the height of his heart,
| من، خداوند، از ادعاهای گستاخانه و پوچ او آگاهم؛ و می‌دانم کاری از دستش برنمی‌آید. | 30 |
I have known, a declaration of YHWH, His wrath, and [it is] not right, His boastings—they have done nothing right.
| از این رو برای موآب گریانم و برای اهالی قیرحارس دلم می‌سوزد. | 31 |
Therefore I howl for Moab, even for Moab—all of it, I cry for men of Kir-Heres, it mourns,
| بیشتر از آنچه برای مردم یعزیر گریستم، برای مردم سبمه خواهم گریست. شهر سبمه، مانند درخت مویی بود که شاخه‌هایش تا دریای مرده و تا یعزیر می‌رسید؛ ولی اکنون میوه‌ها و انگورهایش را غارتگران از بین برده‌اند. | 32 |
With the weeping of Jazer, I weep for you, O vine of Sibmah, Your branches have passed over a sea, They have come to the Sea of Jazer, On your summer fruits, and on your harvest, A spoiler has fallen.
| شادی و خرمی از سرزمین حاصلخیز موآب رخت بربسته است؛ از چرخشتها دیگر شراب بیرون نمی‌آید و کسی انگورها را با فریاد شادی نمی‌افشرد. فریادهایی به گوش می‌رسد، ولی نه فریاد شادی. | 33 |
And joy and gladness have been removed from the fruitful field, Even from the land of Moab, And I have caused wine to cease from winepresses, Shouting does not proceed, The shouting [is] not shouting!
| ناله‌ها و فریادهای دلخراش در همه جا شنیده می‌شود از حشبون تا العاله و یاهص، و از صوغر تا حورونایم و عجلت شلیشیا. حتی چراگاههای سرسبز نمریم نیز خشک شده است.» | 34 |
Because of the cry of Heshbon to Elealeh, They have given their voice to Jahaz, From Zoar to Horonaim, A heifer of the third [year], For even [the] waters of Nimrim become desolations.
| خداوند می‌فرماید: «من در موآب تمام کسانی را که در بتکده‌ها برای بتها قربانی می‌کنند و برای خدایان خود بخور می‌سوزانند، از بین خواهم برد. | 35 |
And I have caused to cease in Moab, A declaration of YHWH, Him who is offering in a high place, And him who is making incense to his god.
| دلم برای موآب و قیرحارس به فغان آمده، چون تمام دارایی‌شان از میان رفته است. | 36 |
Therefore My heart sounds as pipes for Moab, And My heart sounds as pipes for men of Kir-Heres, Therefore the abundance he made perished.
| از غم و غصه، موی سر و ریش خود را می‌کنند و دستشان را می‌خراشند و لباس عزا می‌پوشند. | 37 |
For every head [is] bald, and every beard diminished, On all hands—cuttings, and on the loins—sackcloth.
| از تمام خانه‌ها و کوچه‌های موآب صدای آه و ناله بلند است، چون موآب را مثل یک ظرف بی‌مصرف، خرد کرده‌ام. | 38 |
On all roofs of Moab, and in her broad-places, All of it—lamentation, For I have broken Moab as a vessel in which there is no pleasure,” A declaration of YHWH.
| ببینید چگونه در هم شکسته شده است! به صدای شیون و زاری او گوش دهید! به رسوایی موآب نگاه کنید! اینک برای همسایگان خود باعث خنده شده است و برای عده‌ای، موجب وحشت!» | 39 |
“How it has been broken down! They have howled, How Moab has turned the neck ashamed! And Moab has been for a derision And for a terror to all around her.”
| خداوند می‌فرماید: «عقابی با بالهای گشوده بر فراز موآب پرواز خواهد کرد و برای تخریب و نابودی بر آن فرود خواهد آمد. | 40 |
For thus said YHWH: “Behold, he flees as an eagle, And has spread his wings to Moab.
| شهرها و قلعه‌های موآب تسخیر خواهند شد. در آن روز جنگاورانش مانند زنی که از درد زایمان به خود می‌پیچد، هراسان و پریشان خواهند گشت. | 41 |
The cities have been captured, And the strongholds are caught, And the heart of the mighty of Moab Has been in that day as the heart of a distressed woman.
| دیگر قومی به نام موآب وجود نخواهد داشت، چون بر ضد خداوند طغیان کرده است. | 42 |
And Moab has been destroyed from [being] a people, For he exerted himself against YHWH.
| ای مردم موآب، وحشت و چاه و دام در انتظار شماست. | 43 |
Fear, and a snare, and a trap, [are] for you, O inhabitant of Moab—a declaration of YHWH,
| هر که از شما بخواهد از چنگال وحشت بگریزد، در چاه خواهد افتاد و آنکه خود را از چاه بیرون بکشد، در دام گرفتار خواهد شد. راه فرار نخواهید داشت، چون زمان مجازاتتان فرا رسیده است.» این است فرمودۀ خداوند. | 44 |
Whoever is fleeing because of the fear falls into the snare, And whoever is coming up from the snare is captured by the trap, For I bring to her—to Moab—The year of their inspection, A declaration of YHWH.
| «فراریان بی‌تاب، به حشبون پناه خواهند برد، ولی از این شهر که زمانی، سیحون پادشاه بر آن حکمرانی می‌کرد، آتشی بیرون خواهد آمد و سراسر موآب و تمام اهالی یاغی آن را خواهد سوزاند.» | 45 |
In the shadow of Heshbon fugitives have stood powerless, For fire has gone forth from Heshbon, And a flame from within Sihon, And it consumes the corner of Moab, And the crown of the sons of Shaon.
| وای به حال قوم موآب، قومی که خدایشان، بت کموش است! زیرا نابود گشته‌اند و پسران و دخترانشان، به اسارت برده شده‌اند. | 46 |
Woe to you, O Moab, The people of Chemosh have perished, For your sons were taken with the captives, And your daughters with the captivity.
| ولی خداوند می‌فرماید که در ایام آخر بار دیگر موآب را مورد توجه و لطف خود قرار خواهد داد. (در اینجا پیشگویی دربارهٔ موآب به پایان می‌رسد.) | 47 |
And I have turned back [to] the captivity of Moab, In the latter end of the days,” A declaration of YHWH! “Until now [is] the judgment of Moab.”
