ارمیا 13

1 خداوند به من فرمود: «برو و یک کمربند کتانی بخر و به کمرت ببند، ولی آن را نشوی.»

Thus sayth the Lord vnto mee, Goe, and buy thee a linen girdle, and put it vpon thy loynes, and put it not in water.

2 پس کمربندی خریدم و به کمرم بستم.

So I bought the girdle according to the commandement of the Lord, and put it vpon my loynes.

3 سپس خداوند به من گفت:

And the worde of the Lord came vnto me the second time, saying,

4 «به کنار رود فرات برو و آن کمربند را در شکاف صخره‌ای پنهان کن.»

Take the girdle that thou hast bought, which is vpon thy loynes, and arise, goe towarde Perath, and hide it there in the cleft of the rocke.

5 رفتم و همان‌طور که خداوند فرموده بود، پنهانش کردم.

So I went, and hid it by Perath, as the Lord had commanded me.

6 پس از گذشت زمانی طولانی، خداوند فرمود که بروم و کمربند را از کنار رود فرات بیاورم.

And after many dayes, the Lord sayde vnto mee, Arise, goe towarde Perath, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.

7 من هم رفتم و آن را از جایی که پنهان کرده بودم، بیرون آوردم؛ ولی دیدم که پوسیده است و دیگر به هیچ دردی نمی‌خورد!

Then went I to Perath, and digged, and tooke the girdle from the place where I had hid it, and behold, the girdle was corrupt, and was profitable for nothing.

8 آنگاه خداوند فرمود: «به همین گونه من غرور مملکت یهودا و شهر اورشلیم را می‌پوسانم و از بین می‌برم.

Then the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,

Thus sayth the Lord, After this maner will I destroy the pride of Iudah, and the great pride of Ierusalem.

10 این قوم بدکار که خواهان اطاعت از من نیستند و به دنبال خواهشهای ناپاک خود می‌روند و بت می‌پرستند، همچون این کمربند، پوسیده شده، به هیچ دردی نخواهند خورد.

This wicked people haue refused to heare my word, and walke after ye stubbernesse of their owne heart, and walke after other gods to serue them, and to worship them: therefore they shalbe as this girdle, which is profitable to nothing.

11 همان‌گونه که کمربند را محکم به دور کمر می‌بندند، من نیز اسرائیل و یهودا را محکم به خود بستم تا قوم من باشند و مایهٔ سربلندی و عزت نام من گردند؛ ولی آنها از من اطاعت نکردند.»

For as the girdle cleaueth to the loynes of a man, so haue I tied to me the whole house of Israel, and the whole house of Iudah, saith the Lord, that they might bee my people: that they might haue a name and prayse, and glory, but they would not heare.

12 سپس خداوند فرمود: «به ایشان بگو:”همهٔ مشکهای شما از شراب پر خواهند شد.“ولی ایشان در جواب به تو خواهند گفت:”خود می‌دانیم که مشکهایمان همه از شراب لبریز خواهند شد.“

Therefore thou shalt saye vnto them this word, Thus sayth the Lord God of Israel, Euery bottell shalbe filled with wine, and they shall say vnto thee, Doe we not knowe that euery bottell shalbe filled with wine?

13 پس تو به ایشان بگو که خداوند می‌فرماید:”مردم این سرزمین را مانند کسانی که مست شده‌اند، گیج خواهم ساخت، از پادشاهی که از خاندان داوود است تا کاهنان و انبیا و همهٔ ساکنان اورشلیم را؛

Then shalt thou say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, euen the Kings that sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and the Priestes and the Prophets and all the inhabitantes of Ierusalem with drunkennesse.

14 و ایشان را به جان هم خواهم انداخت، حتی پدران و پسران را، تا یکدیگر را نابود کنند؛ و هیچ چیز مرا از هلاک کردن آنها باز نخواهد داشت نه دلسوزی، نه ترحم و نه شفقت.“»

And I wil dash them one against another, euen the fathers and the sonnes together, sayeth the Lord: I will not spare, I will not pitie nor haue compassion, but destroy them.

15 خداوند امر فرموده است، پس فروتن شوید و گوش کنید!

Heare and giue eare, be not proude: for the Lord hath spoken it.

16 یهوه خدای خود را احترام نمایید، پیش از آنکه دیر شود، قبل از آنکه ظلمتی را پدید آورد که نتوانید راه خود را بر روی کوهها بیابید؛ پیش از آنکه نوری را که انتظار می‌کشیدید به تاریکی مرگبار و سهمگین تبدیل نماید.

Giue glory to the Lord your God before he bring darknes, and or euer your feete stumble in the darke mountaines, and whiles you look for light, he turne it into the shadowe of death and make it as darkenesse.

17 اگر گوش نکنید، به سبب غرور شما در خفا خواهم گریست و اشک خواهم ریخت، چون قوم خداوند به اسارت برده می‌شوند.

But if ye will not heare this, my soule shall weepe in secrete for your pride, and mine eye shall weepe and drop downe teares, because the Lords flocke is caried away captiue.

18 خداوند فرمود: «به پادشاه و مادرش بگو که از تخت سلطنت پایین بیایند و به خاک بنشینند، چون تاجهای پرشکوهشان از سر آنها برداشته شده است.

Say vnto the King and to the Queene, Humble yourselues, sit downe, for the crowne of your glory shall come downe from your heads.

19 دروازه‌های شهرهای جنوب یهودا همه بسته است و کسی نیست که آنها را بگشاید؛ اهالی یهودا همه به اسارت رفته‌اند.

The cities of the South shall be shut vp, and no man shall open them: all Iudah shall be caried away captiue: it shall be wholy caried away captiue.

20 «ای اورشلیم نگاه کن! دشمن از سوی شمال به سوی تو می‌آید! کجاست آن گلهٔ زیبایی که به دست تو سپردم تا از آن نگهداری کنی؟

Lift vp your eyes and beholde them that come from the North: where is the flocke that was giuen thee, euen thy beautifull flocke?

21 هنگامی که یارانت تو را شکست داده، بر تو حکومت کنند، چه حالی به تو دست خواهد داد؟ همچون زنی که می‌زاید، از درد به خود خواهی پیچید.

What wilt thou saye, when hee shall visite thee? (for thou hast taught them to be captaines and as chiefe ouer thee) shall not sorow take thee as a woman in trauaile?

22 اگر از خودت بپرسی که چرا این بلاها بر سرت می‌آید، بدان که به سبب ازدیاد گناهانت به این روز افتاده‌ای؛ برای همین است که دشمن به تو تجاوز نموده و غارت و پایمالت کرده است.

And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things vpon me? For the multitude of thine iniquities are thy skirts discouered and thy heeles made bare.

23 «آیا یک حبشی می‌تواند رنگ سیاه پوستش را عوض کند؟ یا پلنگ می‌تواند خالهایش را پاک کند؟ تو هم که تا این حد به کارهای بد عادت کرده‌ای، آیا می‌توانی کار خوب بکنی؟

Can the blacke More change his skin? or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do euill.

24 پس چون مرا فراموش کرده و خدایان دروغین را پیروی نموده‌ای، من هم تو را پراکنده می‌کنم، همان‌طور که باد صحرا کاه را پراکنده می‌سازد؛ این است آن سرنوشتی که برایت تعیین کرده‌ام.

Therefore will I scatter them, as the stubble that is taken away with the South winde.

This is thy portion, and ye part of thy measures from me, sayth the Lord, because thou hast forgotten me and trusted in lyes.

26 تو را برهنه ساخته رسوا خواهم کرد.

Therefore I haue also discouered thy skirts vpon thy face, that thy shame may appeare.

27 کارهای زشت تو را دیده‌ام، ناپاکی، هوسرانی، زناکاری و بت‌پرستی‌هایت را بر تپه‌ها و کشتزارها! وای بر تو ای اورشلیم، تا به کی می‌خواهی ناپاک بمانی؟»

I haue seene thine adulteries, and thy neiings, the filthinesse of thy whoredome on the hils in the fieldes, and thine abominations. Wo vnto thee, O Ierusalem: wilt thou not bee made cleane? when shall it once be?
