اشعیا 63

1 این کیست که از بصرهٔ ادوم می‌آید؟ این کیست که در لباسی باشکوه و سرخ رنگ، با قدرت و اقتدار گام بر زمین می‌نهد؟ «این منم، خداوند، که نجاتتان را اعلام می‌کنم! این منم که قدرت دارم نجات دهم.»

Who is this, who arrives from Edom with dyed garments from Bozrah? This is the Handsome One in his robe, advancing by the fullness of his strength. It is I, the Speaker of Justice, and I am the Fighter for Salvation.

2 چرا لباس او اینچنین سرخ است؟ مگر او در چرخشت، انگور زیر پای خود فشرده است؟

So then, why is your garment red, and why are your vestments like the ones of those who tread the winepress?

3 خداوند پاسخ می‌دهد: «بله، من به تنهایی انگور را در چرخشت، زیر پا فشردم. کسی نبود به من کمک کند. در غضب خود، دشمنانم را مانند انگور زیر پا له کردم. خون آنان بر لباسم پاشید و تمام لباسم را آلوده کرد.

I have trod the winepress alone. And among the nations, there is no man beside me. I have trampled on them in my fury, and I have tread them down in my wrath. And so, their blood has been sprinkled on my vestments, and I have stained all my garments.

4 وقتش رسیده بود که انتقام قوم خود را بگیرم و ایشان را از چنگ دشمنان نجات دهم.

For the day of vengeance is in my heart. The year of my redemption has arrived.

5 نگاه کردم ببینم کسی به کمک من می‌آید، اما با کمال تعجب دیدم کسی نبود. پس، خشم من مرا یاری کرد و من به تنهایی پیروز شدم.

I gazed around, and there was no one to assist. I sought, and there was no one who would help. And so, my own arm has saved for me, and my own wrath itself has assisted me.

6 با خشم خود قومها را زار و ناتوان کرده، آنها را پایمال نمودم و خونشان را به زمین ریختم.»

And I have trampled the peoples in my fury, and I have inebriated them with my indignation, and I have torn down their strength to the ground.

7 از لطف و مهربانی خداوند سخن خواهم گفت و به سبب تمام کارهایی که برای ما کرده است او را ستایش خواهم کرد. او با محبت و رحمت بی‌حد خویش قوم اسرائیل را مورد لطف خود قرار داد.

I will remember the compassion of the Lord, the praise of the Lord over all that the Lord has bestowed on us, and over the multitude of his good things for the house of Israel, which he has granted to them according to his leniency, and according to the multitude of his mercies.

8 خداوند فرمود: «بنی‌اسرائیل قوم من هستند و به من خیانت نخواهند کرد.» او نجا‌ت‌دهندۀ ایشان شد

And he said: “Yet truly, these are my people, sons who have not been disowned.” And he became their Savior.

9 و در تمامی رنجهای ایشان، او نیز رنج کشید، و فرشتۀ حضور وی ایشان را نجات داد. در محبت و رحمت خود ایشان را رهانید. سالهای سال ایشان را بلند کرد و حمل نمود.

Throughout all their tribulation, he was not troubled, for the Angel of his presence saved them. With his love, and by his leniency, he has redeemed them, and he has carried them and lifted them up, throughout all the days of the ages.

10 اما ایشان نافرمانی کرده، روح قدوس او را محزون ساختند. پس، او نیز دشمن ایشان شد و با آنان جنگید.

But they themselves provoked to wrath and afflicted his Holy Spirit, and he was turned to be for them like an enemy, and he himself went to war against them.

11 آنگاه ایشان گذشته را به یاد آوردند که چگونه موسی قوم خود را از مصر بیرون آورد. پس، فریاد برآورده گفتند: «کجاست آن کسی که بنی‌اسرائیل را به رهبری موسی از میان دریا عبور داد؟ کجاست آن خدایی که روح قدوس خود را به میان قومش فرستاد؟

And he remembered the days of ancient times, the days of Moses and his people. Where is he who led them out of the sea, with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who placed his Holy Spirit in their midst?

12 کجاست او که وقتی موسی دست خود را بلند کرد، با قدرت عظیم خود دریا را در برابر قوم اسرائیل شکافت و با این کار خود شهرت جاودانی پیدا کرد؟

He led Moses by the right hand, with the arm of his majesty. He split the waters before them, in order to make an everlasting name for himself.

13 چه کسی ایشان را در اعماق دریا رهبری کرد؟ آنان مانند اسبانی اصیل که در بیابان می‌دوند، هرگز نلغزیدند.

He led them through the abyss, like a horse which does not stumble, in the desert.

14 آنان مانند گله‌ای بودند که آرام در دره می‌چرند، زیرا روح خداوند به ایشان آرامش داده بود. «بله، تو قوم خود را رهبری کردی، و نام تو برای این کار شهرت یافت.»

Like an animal who descends to an open field, the Spirit of the Lord was their guide. Thus did you lead your people, in order to make a glorious name for yourself.

15 ای خداوند از آسمان به ما نگاه کن و از جایگاه باشکوه و مقدّست به ما نظر انداز. کجاست آن محبتی که در حق ما نشان می‌دادی؟ کجاست قدرت و رحمت و دلسوزی تو؟

Gaze down from heaven, and behold from your holy habitation and from your glory. Where is your zeal, and your strength, the fullness of your heart and of your compassion? They have held themselves back from me.

16 تو پدر ما هستی! حتی اگر ابراهیم و یعقوب نیز ما را فراموش کنند، تو ای یهوه، از ازل تا ابد پدر و نجا‌ت‌دهندۀ ما خواهی بود.

For you are our Father, and Abraham has not known us, and Israel has been ignorant of us. You are our Father, O Lord our Redeemer. Your name is beyond all ages.

17 خداوندا، چرا گذاشتی از راههای تو منحرف شویم؟ چرا دلهایی سخت به ما دادی تا از تو نترسیم؟ به خاطر بندگانت بازگرد! به خاطر قومت بازگرد!

Why have you allowed us to stray from your ways, O Lord? Why have you hardened our heart, so that we do not fear you? Return, for the sake of your servants, the tribes of your inheritance.

18 ما، قوم مقدّس تو، مدت زمانی کوتاه مکان مقدّس تو را در تصرف خود داشتیم، اما اینک دشمنان ما آن را ویران کرده‌اند.

They have possessed your holy people as if it were nothing. Our enemies have trampled your sanctuary.

19 ای خداوند، چرا با ما طوری رفتار می‌کنی که گویا هرگز قوم تو نبوده‌ایم و تو نیز هرگز رهبر ما نبوده‌ای؟

We have become as we were in the beginning, when you did not rule over us, and when we were not called by your name.
