اشعیا 55

1 خداوند می‌فرماید: «ای همهٔ تشنگان، نزد آبها بیایید؛ ای همهٔ شما که پول ندارید، بیایید نان بخرید و بخورید! بیایید شیر و شراب را بدون پول بخرید و بنوشید!

Alle that thirsten, come ye to watris, and ye han not siluer, haaste, bie ye, and ete ye; come ye, bie ye, with out siluer and with outen ony chaungyng, wyn and mylk.

2 چرا پول خود را خرج چیزی می‌کنید که خوردنی نیست؟ چرا دسترنج خود را صرف چیزی می‌کنید که سیرتان نمی‌کند؟ به من گوش دهید و از من اطاعت کنید تا بهترین خوراک را بخورید و از آن لذت ببرید.

Whi peisen ye siluer, and not in looues, and youre trauel, not in fulnesse? Ye herynge here me, and ete ye good, and youre soule schal delite in fatnesse.

3 «ای قوم من، با گوشهای باز و شنوا نزد من بیایید تا زنده بمانید. من با شما عهدی جاودانی می‌بندم و برکاتی را که به داوود پادشاه وعده داده‌ام به شما می‌دهم.

Bowe ye youre eere, and `come ye to me; here ye, and youre soule schal lyue; and Y schal smyte with you a couenaunt euerlastynge, the feithful mercies of Dauid.

4 همان‌گونه که او سرزمینها را تسخیر کرد و قدرت مرا ظاهر ساخت،

Lo! Y yaf hym a witnesse to puplis, a duyk and a comaundour to folkis.

5 شما نیز قومهای بیگانه را فراخواهید خواند و آنها آمده، مطیع شما خواهند شد. من که یهوه خدای مقدّس اسرائیل هستم این کار را برای خودم خواهم کرد و به شما عزت و افتخار خواهم بخشید.»

Lo! thou schalt clepe folkis, whiche thou knewist not; and folkis, that knewen not thee, schulen renne to thee; for thi Lord God, and the hooli of Israel, for he glorifiede thee.

6 خداوند را مادامی که یافت می‌شود بطلبید، و مادامی که نزدیک است او را بخوانید.

Seke ye the Lord, while he mai be foundun; clepe ye hym to help, while he is niy.

7 ای گناهکاران، از کارها و فکرهای فاسد خود دست بکشید و به سوی خداوند بازگشت کنید، زیرا او بسیار بخشنده است و بر شما رحم خواهد کرد.

An vnfeithful man forsake his weie, and a wickid man forsake hise thouytis; and turne he ayen to the Lord, and he schal haue merci on hym, and to oure God, for he is myche to foryyue.

8 خداوند می‌فرماید: «فکرهای من فکرهای شما نیست، و راههای من هم راههای شما نیست.

For why my thouytis ben not youre thouytis, and my weies ben not youre weies, seith the Lord.

9 به همان اندازه که آسمان بلندتر از زمین است، راههای من نیز از راههای شما و فکرهای من از فکرهای شما بلندتر و برتر است.

For as heuenys ben reisid fro erthe, so my weies ben reisid fro youre weies, and my thouytis fro youre thouytis.

10 «کلام من مانند برف و باران است. همان‌گونه که برف و باران از آسمان می‌بارند و زمین را سیراب و بارور می‌سازند و به کشاورز بذر و به گرسنه نان می‌بخشند،

And as reyn and snow cometh doun fro heuene, and turneth no more ayen thidur, but it fillith the erthe, and bischedith it, and makith it to buriowne, and yyueth seed to hym that sowith, and breed to hym that etith,

11 کلام من نیز هنگامی که از دهانم بیرون می‌آید بی‌ثمر نمی‌ماند، بلکه مقصود مرا عملی می‌سازد و آنچه را اراده کرده‌ام انجام می‌دهد.

so schal be my word, that schal go out of my mouth. It schal not turne ayen voide to me, but it schal do what euer thingis Y wolde, and it schal haue prosperite in these thingis to whiche Y sente it.

12 «ای قوم من، شما با شادی از بابِل بیرون خواهید آمد و با آرامش آنجا را ترک خواهید گفت. کوهها و تپه‌های اطراف شما با شادی سرود خواهند خواند و درختان صحرا برای شما دست خواهند زد!

For ye schulen go out in gladnesse, and ye schulen be led forth in pees; mounteyns and litil hillis schulen synge heriynge bifore you, and alle the trees of the cuntrei schulen make ioie with hond.

13 به جای خار و خس، درختان سبز و خوشبویی چون صنوبر و آس خواهند رویید. این معجزه، یادبودی جاودانی خواهد بود از آنچه من انجام داده‌ام.»

A fir tre schal grow for a firse, and a mirte tre schal wexe for a nettil; and the Lord schal be nemyd in to a signe euerlastynge, that schal not be doon awei.
