| ای مردم سرزمینهای دور دست به من گوش دهید! پیش از آنکه من به دنیا بیایم خداوند مرا برگزید، و هنگامی که هنوز در شکم مادرم بودم او مرا به اسم خواند. | 1 |
Hearken, O isles, unto me; and listen, ye people, from afar: The Lord hath called me from my birth; from my mother's womb hath he made mention of my name.
| خداوند سخنان مرا مانند شمشیر، تیز کرده است. او مرا زیر دستش پنهان نموده و مرا مانند یک تیر تیز در ترکش خود گذاشته است. | 2 |
And he hath rendered my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hidden me: and he hath rendered me as a polished arrow; in his quiver hath he concealed me;
| خداوند به من گفت: «تو خدمتگزار نیرومند من هستی. تو باعث خواهی شد که مردم مرا بستایند.» | 3 |
And said unto me, My servant art thou, O Israel, thou on whom I will be glorified.
| جواب دادم: «اما کار من برای مردم بیهوده بوده و من بی‌جهت نیروی خود را برای آنان صرف کرده‌ام.» با این حال خدمت خود را تماماً به خداوند واگذار می‌کنم تا او آن را به ثمر رساند. | 4 |
But I had indeed said, For no purpose have I labored, for naught and vanity have I spent my strength; yet surely my cause is with the Lord, and the recompense of my work with my God.
| خداوند که مرا از شکم مادرم برای خدمتش برگزید و به من مأموریت داد تا قوم آوارهٔ او اسرائیل را به سوی او بازگردانم، و برای انجام این کار به من نیروی کافی بخشید و افتخار انجام آن را نصیبم کرد، به من فرمود: | 5 |
And now hath said the Lord that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, that Israel may be gathered unto him, that I should be honored in the eyes of the Lord, while my God was my strength, —
| «اینک کاری مهمتر از باز آوردن و احیای اسرائیل به تو واگذار می‌کنم. ای خدمتگزار من، تو را برای قومهای جهان نور می‌سازم تا نجات مرا به کرانهای زمین برسانی.» | 6 |
And he said, It is too light a thing that thou shouldst be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to bring back the preserved of Israel! but I will [also] appoint thee for a light to the nations, that my salvation may reach as far as the end of the earth.
| خداوند که نجات دهنده و خدای مقدّس اسرائیل است، به او که از طرف مردم حقیر و طرد شده و زیر دست حاکمان قرار گرفته است، چنین می‌فرماید: «وقتی پادشاهان تو را ببینند، به احترام تو از جای خود برخواهند خاست و شاهزادگان به تو تعظیم خواهند کرد، زیرا من که خداوند امین و خدای مقدّس اسرائیل هستم تو را برگزیده‌ام.» | 7 |
Thus hath said the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, to him who is despised by men, to him who is abhorred by nations, to the servant of rulers, Kings shall see it and rise up, princes, and they shall prostrate themselves, for the sake of the Lord, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who hath made choice of thee.
| خداوند می‌فرماید: «فریاد تو را در وقت مناسب خواهم شنید. در روز نجات به یاری‌ات خواهم شتافت. تو را از هر گزندی حفظ خواهم نمود و توسط تو با قوم اسرائیل عهد خواهم بست و سرزمینشان را از نو آباد کرده، آن را به مردمش باز خواهم گرداند. | 8 |
Thus hath said the Lord, In the time of favor have I answered thee, and on the day of salvation have I helped thee; and I will preserve thee, and I will appoint thee as a people of my covenant to raise up the land, to divide out desolate heritages;
| من توسط تو کسانی را که اسیرند و در تاریکی زندگی می‌کنند آزاد کرده، به ایشان خواهم گفت:”بیرون بیائید و در روشنایی زندگی کنید.“آنان گوسفندان من خواهند بود و در چراگاههای سرسبز و بر تپه‌هایی که قبلاً خشک و بی‌علف بود خواهند چرید. | 9 |
When I say to the prisoners, Go forth; to those that are in darkness, Show yourselves. On the roads shall they feed, and on all mountain-peaks shall be their pasture.
| گرسنه و تشنه نخواهند شد و حرارت خورشید به ایشان آسیب نخواهد رسانید، زیرا کسی که ایشان را دوست دارد آنان را هدایت خواهد کرد و نزد چشمه‌های آب رهبری خواهد نمود. | 10 |
They shall not be hungry nor thirsty, and neither heat nor sun shall smite them; for he that hath mercy on them will lead them, and by springs of water will he guide them.
| «من تمام کوههایم را برای قوم خود به راههای صاف تبدیل خواهم کرد و بر فراز دره‌ها، جاده‌ها خواهم ساخت تا ایشان از آن عبور کنند. | 11 |
And I will change all my mountains into a road, and my highways shall be lifted up.
| قوم من از جاهای دور دست باز خواهند گشت عده‌ای از شمال، عده‌ای از غرب و عده‌ای از سرزمین جنوب.» | 12 |
Behold, these shall come from afar; and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.
| ای آسمانها، آواز شادی سر دهید! ای زمین، شادمان باش! و ای کوهها با شادی سرود بخوانید، زیرا خداوند بر قوم رنجدیدهٔ خود ترحم کرده، ایشان را تسلی می‌دهد. | 13 |
Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth, O mountains, into song; for the Lord hath comforted his people, and upon his oppressed will he have mercy.
| با وجود این، ساکنان اورشلیم می‌گویند: «خداوند ما را ترک گفته و فراموش کرده است.» | 14 |
Yet Zion said, the Eternal hath forsaken me, and the Lord hath forgotten me.
| خداوند چنین پاسخ می‌دهد: «آیا یک مادر جگر گوشهٔ خود را فراموش می‌کند؟ یا بر پسر خود رحم نمی‌کند؟ حتی اگر مادری طفلش را فراموش کند، من شما را فراموش نخواهم کرد! | 15 |
Can a woman forget her sucking child, not to have mercy on the son of her body? yea, should these even forget, yet would I not forget thee.
| ای اورشلیم، من نام تو را بر کف دستم نوشته‌ام و دیوارهایت همیشه در نظر من است. | 16 |
Behold, upon the palms of my hands have I engraved thee; thy walls are continually before me.
| به‌زودی فرزندان تو خواهند آمد تا تو را دوباره بنا کنند و تمام کسانی که تو را ویران کرده‌اند، از تو بیرون خواهند رفت. | 17 |
Thy children come in haste; thy destroyers and they that laid thee waste shall go away from thee.
| سرت را بالا کن و به اطراف خود نظر انداز. ببین چگونه قوم تو جمع شده‌اند و به سوی تو می‌آیند. به حیات خود قسم که آنها نزد تو خواهند آمد و تو به آنها فخر خواهی کرد همان‌طور که یک عروس به زیورآلات خود فخر می‌کند. | 18 |
Lift up thy eyes round about, and see; they all are assembled together, they come to thee: as I live, saith the Lord, thou shalt surely clothe thyself with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride.
| «خرابه‌ها و زمینهای ویران تو از مردم پر خواهند شد و دشمنانت که تو را اسیر کرده بودند، از تو دور خواهند شد. | 19 |
For thy ruins and thy desolate places, and thy wasted land, —yea, now shall it be too narrow for thee by reason of the inhabitants, and thy destroyers shall be far away.
| فرزندان تو که در دیار تبعید به دنیا آمده‌اند به تو خواهند گفت:”این سرزمین برای ما کوچک است. ما به جای وسیعتری نیاز داریم.“ | 20 |
Yet again will say before thy ears the children of whom thou wast deprived, The place is too narrow for me; make room for me that I may dwell.
| آنگاه از خود خواهی پرسید:”چه کسی اینها را برای من زاییده است؟ چه کسی اینها را برای من بزرگ کرده است؟ بیشتر فرزندانم کشته شده‌اند و بقیه به اسیری رفته مرا تنها گذاشته‌اند. پس اینها از کجا آمده‌اند؟“» | 21 |
And thou wilt say in thy heart, Who hath born me these, seeing I was bereft of my children, and was solitary, an exile, and outcast? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left entirely alone; these, where have they been?
| خداوند یهوه به قوم اسرائیل می‌فرماید: «اینک به اشارۀ من قومهای جهان پسرانت را در آغوش گرفته، دخترانت را بر دوش خواهند گذاشت و آنان را نزد تو باز خواهند آورد. | 22 |
Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will lift up to the nations my hand, and to the people will I raise up high my standard; and they shall bring thy sons in [their] arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon shoulders.
| پادشاهان و ملکه‌ها مانند دایه از تو مراقبت خواهند کرد و در برابرت زانو زده، خاک پایت را خواهند لیسید. آنگاه خواهی دانست که من خداوند هستم و کسانی را که چشم امیدشان به من باشد، نومید نخواهم کرد.» | 23 |
And kings shall be thy nursing-fathers, and their princesses thy nursing-mothers; with the face toward the earth shall they bow down to thee, and the dust of thy feet shall they lick up: and thou shalt know that I am the Lord, who will not suffer those who hope in me to be ashamed.
| چه کسی می‌تواند غنایم را از چنگ فاتح جنگ درآورد؟ چه کسی می‌تواند اسیران را از دست حاکم ستمگر برهاند؟ | 24 |
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or shall the captive of the victor escape?
| خداوند جواب می‌دهد: «من غنایم را از چنگ فاتح جنگ در خواهم آورد و اسیران را از دست حاکم ستمگر خواهم رهانید. من با دشمنان تو خواهم جنگید و فرزندانت را خواهم رهانید. | 25 |
For thus hath said the Lord, Also the captive of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the powerful shall escape; and with those who contend against thee will I contend, and thy children will I indeed save.
| کسانی را که به تو ظلم کنند به جان هم خواهم انداخت تا گوشت یکدیگر را بخورند و خون یکدیگر را بنوشند. آنگاه تمام مردم دنیا خواهند دانست که من یهوه، خدای قادر اسرائیل هستم که تو را نجات می‌دهم و حفظ می‌کنم.» | 26 |
And I will feed thy oppressors with their own flesh; and as with new wine shall they be made drunken with their own blood: and all flesh shall know that I the Eternal am thy Saviour, and thy Redeemer the Mighty One of Jacob.
