اشعیا 34

1 ای قومهای روی زمین نزدیک آیید و به این پیام گوش دهید. ای مردم دنیا، سخنان مرا بشنوید:

Come near ye nations to hear, And, ye races, attend, —Let the earth hear, and the fulness thereof, The world and all things produced therefrom:

2 خداوند بر تمام قومها و سپاهیانشان خشمگین است. او آنها را به مرگ محکوم کرده است و آنها را خواهد کشت.

That Yahweh hath wrath against all the nations, and indignation against all their host, —He hath devoted them to destruction He hath delivered them to slaughter;

3 جنازه‌های آنان دفن نخواهند شد و بوی تعفن آنها زمین را پر خواهد ساخت و خون ایشان از کوهها جاری خواهد گردید.

And their slain shall be cast out, And their carcases, the stench of them shall ascend, —And, the mountains, shall melt away with their blood.

4 خورشید و ماه نابود خواهند شد و آسمان مثل طوماری به هم خواهد پیچید. ستارگان مانند برگ مو و همچون میوه‌های رسیده که از درخت می‌افتند، فرو خواهند ریخت.

Then shall be dissolved all the host of the heavens, And the heavens shall roll up as a scroll, —Yea, all their host, shall fade—Like the fading and falling of a leaf from a vine, and Like what fadeth and falleth from a fig-tree.

5 خداوند شمشیر خود را در آسمان آماده کرده است تا بر قوم ادوم که مورد غضب او هستند، فرود آورد.

For my sword hath been sated in the heavens, —Lo! upon Edom, shall it descend, Even on the people whom I have devoted to justice.

6 شمشیر خداوند از خون آنها پوشیده خواهد شد و آنها را مانند بره و بزغالهٔ ذبحی، سر خواهد برید. بله، خداوند در سرزمین ادوم مذبح بزرگی ترتیب خواهد داد و کشتار عظیمی به راه خواهد انداخت.

A sword, hath Yahweh—Glutted with blood Sated with fat, —With the blood of well-fed lambs and he-goats, With the fat of the kidneys of rams, —For, a sacrifice, hath Yahweh in Bozrah, Yea a great slaughter in the land of Edom;

7 نیرومندان هلاک خواهند شد، جوانان و اشخاص کارآزموده از بین خواهند رفت. زمین از خون سیراب و خاک از چربی حاصلخیز خواهد گردید.

Then shall buffaloes come down with them, And bullocks with bulls, —So shall their land be soaked with blood, And, their dust, with fat, shall be enriched.

8 زیرا آن روز، روز انتقام گرفتن از ادوم است و سال تلافی کردن ظلمهایی که به اسرائیل کرده است.

For a day of avenging, hath Yahweh, —A year of requitals for the quarrel of Zion.

9 نهرهای ادوم پر از قیر گداخته و زمین آن از آتش پوشیده خواهد شد.

Then shall the torrents thereof be turned into pitch, And the dust thereof, into brimstone, —So shall her land become burning pitch:

10 ادوم روز و شب خواهد سوخت و تا ابد دود از آن برخواهد خاست؛ نسل اندر نسل، ویران خواهد ماند و دیگر کسی در آنجا زندگی نخواهد کرد،

Neither night nor day, shall it be quenched, To times age-abiding, shall ascend the smoke thereof, —From generation to generation, shall it be waste, Never, never, shall any pass through it:

11 جغدها و کلاغها آن سرزمین را اشغال خواهند نمود؛ زیرا خداوند ادوم را به نابودی محکوم کرده است.

That the vomiting pelican and the bittern may possess it: And the great owl and the raven, dwell therein; Then will he stretch out over it The line of desolation, and The plummet of emptiness.

12 از طبقهٔ اشراف کسی باقی نخواهد ماند تا بتواند پادشاه شود. تمام رهبرانش از بین خواهند رفت.

Her nobles (but none, are, there)! unto royalty, will call, —All, all her princes, shall become nought.

13 قصرها و قلعه‌هایش پوشیده از خار خواهند شد و شغالها و شترمرغها در آنجا لانه خواهند کرد.

Then shall come up, in her palaces thorns Nettles and thistles in her fortresses, —And she shall become A home for wild dogs, An enclosure for ostriches;

14 حیوانات وحشی در ادوم گردش خواهند کرد و زوزهٔ آنها در شب، همه جا خواهد پیچید. هیولاهای شب بر سر یکدیگر فریاد خواهند زد و غولها برای استراحت به آنجا خواهند رفت.

Then shall criers meet with howlers, And, the shaggy creature, unto his fellow, shall call, —Only, there, shall, the night-spectre, Make her settlement, And find for herself a place of rest:

15 در آنجا جغدها آشیانه خواهند کرد، تخم خواهند گذاشت، جوجه‌هایشان را از تخم بیرون خواهند آورد و آنها را زیر بال و پر خود پرورش خواهند داد. لاشخورها با جفتهای خود در آنجا جمع خواهند شد.

There, shall, the arrow-snake, Make her nest and lay, And hatch and gather under her shadow, —Only, there, shall be gathered the falcons, every one with her mate.

16 کتاب خداوند را مطالعه و بررسی کنید و از آنچه که او انجام خواهد داد آگاه شوید. تمام جزئیات این کتاب واقع خواهد شد. هیچ لاشخوری بدون جفت در آن سرزمین نخواهد بود خداوند این را فرموده است و روح او به آن جامهٔ عمل خواهد پوشاند.

Seek ye out of the scroll of Yahweh, and read, Not, one from among them, is lacking, None, hath missed, her mate, —For, a mouth, hath, itself commanded, And, his spirit, hath itself gathered them:

17 خداوند این سرزمین را پیموده و تقسیم کرده و آن را به این جانوران واگذار نموده است تا برای همیشه، نسل اندر نسل در آن زندگی کنند.

Yea he himself, hath cast for them a lot, And his own hand, hath given to them a portion by line, —Unto times age-abiding, shall they possess it, To generation after generation, shall they dwell therein.
