| این پیغام دربارۀ اورشلیم، وادی رویا است: چه شده است؟ چرا مردم شهر به پشت بامها می‌دوند؟ | 1 |
The burden of the valley of vision. What disturbs you now, that you are wholly gone up to the housetops?
| در تمام شهر غوغا برپاست! برای این شهر شاد و پر جنب و جوش چه پیش آمده است؟ مردان اورشلیم کشته شده‌اند اما نه در جنگ، و نه با شمشیر. | 2 |
You that are full of stirs, a tumultuous city, joyous city: your slain men are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle.
| همهٔ رهبران با هم فرار کردند و بدون اینکه تیری بیفکنند تسلیم شدند. وقتی دشمن هنوز دور بود مردم با هم گریختند و اسیر گردیدند. | 3 |
All your rulers are fled together, they are bound by the archers: all that are found in you are bound together, which have fled from far.
| پس مرا به حال خود بگذارید تا برای مصیبت قومم، به تلخی بگریم. کوشش نکنید مرا تسلی دهید، | 4 |
Therefore said I, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly, labour not to comfort me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people.
| زیرا اینک زمان آن رسیده که خداوند، خداوند لشکرهای آسمان اورشلیم را دچار مصیبت و آشفتگی و انهدام کند. دیوارهای شهر ما فرو ریخته است. فریاد مردم در کوهها طنین می‌افکند. | 5 |
For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity by the Lord GOD of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and of crying to the mountains.
| سپاهیان عیلام تیر و کمان را آماده کرده، بر اسبهای خود سوار شده‌اند و سربازان سرزمین «قیر» سپرهای خود را به دست گرفته‌اند. | 6 |
And Elam bare the quiver with chariots of men and horsemen, and Kir uncovered the shield.
| دشتهای سرسبز یهودا از ارابه‌های دشمن پر شده است و سواران دشمن به پشت دروازه‌های شهر رسیده‌اند. | 7 |
And it shall come to pass, that your best valleys shall be full of chariots, and the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.
| نیروی دفاعی یهودا در هم شکسته است. برای آوردن اسلحه به اسلحه‌خانه می‌دوید. | 8 |
And he discovered the covering of Judah, and you did look in that day to the armour of the house of the forest.
| رخنه‌های حصار شهر داوود را بررسی می‌کنید، سپس خانه‌های اورشلیم را می‌شمارید تا آنها را خراب کنید و مصالحشان را برای تعمیر حصار به کار ببرید. برای ذخیره کردن آب، | 9 |
All of you have seen also the breaches of the city of David, that they are many: and all of you gathered together the waters of the lower pool.

And all of you have numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses have all of you broken down to fortify the wall.
| آب انبار در داخل شهر درست می‌کنید تا آب برکهٔ قدیمی تحتانی را در آن بریزید. تمام این کارها را می‌کنید اما به خدا که سازندهٔ همه چیز است توجهی ندارید. | 11 |
All of you made also a ditch between the two walls for the water of the old pool: but all of you have not looked unto the maker thereof, neither had respect unto him that fashioned it long ago.
| خداوند، خداوند لشکرهای آسمان از شما می‌خواهد که گریه و ماتم کنید، موی خود را بتراشید و پلاس بپوشید. | 12 |
And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth:
| اما شما شادی می‌کنید، گاو و گوسفند سر می‌برید تا گوشتشان را با شراب بخورید و خوش بگذرانید. می‌گویید: «بیاید بخوریم و بنوشیم، چون فردا می‌میریم.» | 13 |
And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; in order to morrow we shall die.
| خداوند لشکرهای آسمان به من گفته که این گناه شما تا به هنگام مرگ هرگز آمرزیده نخواهد شد. بله، این را خداوند لشکرهای آسمان فرموده است. | 14 |
And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be purged from you till all of you die, says the Lord GOD of hosts.
| خداوند، خداوند لشکرهای آسمان به من فرمود که نزد «شبنا» وزیر دربار بروم و به او چنین بگویم: | 15 |
Thus says the Lord GOD of hosts, Go, get you unto this treasurer, even unto Shebna, which is over the house, and say,
| «تو در اینجا چه می‌کنی؟ چه کسی به تو اجازه داده در اینجا قبری برای خود بکنی؟ ای کسی که قبر خود را در این صخرۀ بلند می‌تراشی، | 16 |
What have you here? and whom have you here, that you have hewed you out a tomb here, as he that hews him out a tomb on high, and that graves an habitation for himself in a rock?
| هر مقامی که داشته باشی، خداوند تو را برمی‌دارد و دور می‌اندازد. | 17 |
Behold, the LORD will carry you away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover you.
| تو را مانند یک گوی برمی‌دارد و به سرزمینی دور پرتاب می‌کند. در آنجا تو در کنار ارابه‌هایت که به آنها افتخار می‌کردی خواهی مرد. تو مایهٔ ننگ دربار هستی، | 18 |
He will surely violently turn and toss you like a ball into a large country: there shall you die, and there the chariots of your glory shall be the shame of your lord's house.
| پس خداوند تو را از این مقام و منصبی که داری برکنار خواهد کرد.» | 19 |
And I will drive you from your station, and from your state shall he pull you down.
| خداوند به شبنا چنین می‌گوید: «در آن روز، خدمتگزار خود، اِلیاقیم، پسر حلقیا را به جای تو خواهم نشاند. | 20 |
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:
| لباس تو را به او خواهم پوشاند و کمربندت را به کمرش خواهم بست و اقتدار تو را به او خواهم داد. او برای مردم اورشلیم و خاندان یهودا پدر خواهد بود. | 21 |
And I will clothe him with your robe, and strengthen him with your girdle, and I will commit your government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
| کلید دربار داوود پادشاه را به او خواهم داد و او هر دری را بگشاید کسی آن را نخواهد بست و هر دری را ببندد کسی آن را نخواهد گشود! | 22 |
And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
| او را مانند میخی، محکم در جای خود خواهم کوبید و او مایهٔ سربلندی خاندان خود خواهد شد. | 23 |
And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house.
| «اما تمام خاندان و فرزندان او مانند کاسه‌ها و کوزه‌هایی که بر میخ می‌آویزند بر او خواهند آویخت. | 24 |
And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.
| وقتی چنین شود آن میخی که محکم به دیوار کوبیده شده است، شل شده، خواهد افتاد و باری که بر آن است متلاشی خواهد شد.» این را خداوند لشکرهای آسمان فرموده است. | 25 |
In that day, says the LORD of hosts, shall the nail that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for the LORD has spoken it.
