اشعیا 20

1 سرگن، پادشاه آشور، سردار سپاه خود را به شهر اشدود در فلسطین فرستاد و آن را تسخیر کرد.

In the year in which Tharthan entered into Ashdod, when Sargon, the king of the Assyrians, had sent him, and when he had fought against Ashdod and had captured it,

2 سه سال پیش از این رویداد، خداوند به اشعیا پسر آموص فرموده بود که لباس و کفش خود را از تن در بیاورد و عریان و پا برهنه راه برود، و اشعیا چنین کرد.

in that same time, the Lord spoke by the hand of Isaiah, the son of Amoz, saying: “Go forth, and remove the sackcloth from your waist, and take your shoes from your feet.” And he did so, going out naked and barefoot.

3 هنگامی که اشدود به دست آشور افتاد خداوند فرمود: «خدمتگزار من اشعیا مدت سه سال عریان و پا برهنه راه رفته است. این نشانهٔ بلاهای هولناکی است که من بر مصر و حبشه خواهم آورد.

And the Lord said: Just as my servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot, as a sign and as a portent of three years over Egypt and over Ethiopia,

4 پادشاه آشور مردم مصر و حبشه را اسیر خواهد کرد و کوچک و بزرگ را مجبور خواهد ساخت عریان و پا برهنه راه بروند تا مصر را رسوا کند.

so also will the king of the Assyrians force the captivity of Egypt, and the transmigration of Ethiopia: young and old, naked and barefoot, with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.

5 آنگاه مردمی که در سواحل فلسطین زندگی می‌کنند و تکیه‌گاهشان حبشه، و فخرشان مصر است، پریشان و رسوا شده، خواهند گفت:”اگر بر سر مصر که می‌خواستیم از دست آشور به او پناه ببریم چنین بلایی آمد، پس بر سر ما چه خواهد آمد؟“»

And they will be afraid and confounded over Ethiopia, their hope, and Egypt, their glory.

And in that day, the inhabitants of a certain island will say: “Behold, this was our hope, we fled to them for help, to free us from the face of the king of the Assyrians. And now, how will we be able to escape?”
