اشعیا 19

1 پیامی برای مصر: خداوند بر ابری تندرو سوار شده و به جنگ مصر می‌آید. بتهای مصر در برابر او می‌لرزند و دلهای مصری‌ها از ترس ضعف می‌کنند.

The oracle on Egypt: Lo! Yahweh, riding upon a swift cloud, and he will enter Egypt, And the idols of Egypt shall shake at his presence, And, the heart of Egypt, shall melt within him;

2 خداوند می‌فرماید: «مصری‌ها را بر ضد یکدیگر خواهم برانگیخت تا برادر با برادر، همسایه با همسایه، شهر با شهر، و مملکت با مملکت بجنگند.

And I will stir up Egyptians against Egyptians, And they shall fight—Every one against his brother and Every one against his neighbour, —City against city, and Kingdom against kingdom.

3 تدبیرهایی را که مصری‌ها اندیشیده‌اند بی‌اثر خواهم کرد و آنان روحیهٔ خود را خواهند باخت. ایشان برای دریافت کمک، به بتهایشان پناه خواهند برد و برای چاره‌جویی، به احضارکنندگان ارواح و افسونگران و جادوگران متوسل خواهند شد.»

And the spirit of Egypt, shall vanish, within them, Yea the sagacity thereof, will I swallow up, —And they will seek Unto the idols and Unto them that mutter, and Unto them that have familiar spirits, and Unto the wizards;

4 خداوند لشکرهای آسمان می‌فرماید: «من مصری‌ها را به دست حاکمی ستمگر و بیرحم تسلیم می‌کنم تا بر آنها حکمرانی کند.»

And I will deliver the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel lord, —And a fierce king shall rule over them, Declareth the Lord, Yahweh of hosts.

5 آب رود نیل کم خواهد شد و بعد از مدتی خشک خواهد گردید.

And the waters shall be dried up from the great stream, —And the River, shall waste and be dry;

6 نهرها متعفن خواهند شد و آب جویها کم شده، خواهند خشکید. نی و بوریا پژمرده خواهند گردید،

And rivers, shall stink, The canals of Egypt be shallow and waste, Reed and rush, be withered;

7 تمام سبزه‌ها و مزرعه‌های کنار رود نیل خشک شده، از بین خواهند رفت و تمام محصول تلف خواهد شد.

The meadows by the Nile, by the mouth of the Nile. And all that is sown in the Nile, Shall be dry, driven away, and not be!

8 همهٔ ماهیگیرانی که تور و قلاب به رود نیل می‌اندازند نومید خواهند شد و زاری خواهند کرد.

Then shall the fishers, lament, And all shall mourn who cast in the Nile a hook, —And they who spread nets on the face of the waters shall languish;

9 پارچه‌بافانی که با کتان پارچه می‌بافتند مأیوس خواهند گردید،

Then shall turn pale The workers in combed flax, —and The weavers of white linen;

10 و همهٔ بافندگان و کارگران نومید و دل شکسته خواهند شد.

Then shall her pillars be crushed, —All who make wages, be bowed down in soul.

11 بزرگان شهر صوعن نادانند و هر مشورت و پندی که به پادشاه مصر می‌دهند احمقانه است. پس چگونه به پادشاه می‌گویند: «ما از نسل حکیمان و پادشاهان قدیم هستیم!»

Surely, foolish, are the princes of Zoan, the wisest counsellors of Pharaoh, in counsel are brutish, —How can ye say unto Pharaoh, Son of the wise, am I Son of the kings of olden time?

12 ای پادشاه مصر مشاوران دانای تو کجا هستند؟ بگذار آنها به تو اطلاع دهند که خداوند لشکرهای آسمان بر ضد مصر چه اراده کرده است.

Where then are thy wise men? Pray let them tell thee! And let them know what Yahweh of hosts hath purposed on Egypt!

13 رهبران صوعن و ممفیس و تمام بزرگان مصر نادان و گمراهند و مصر را به نابودی کشانده‌اند.

Doting are the princes of Zoan, Deceived are the princes of Noph: They who are the corner-stone of her tribes, have led Egypt astray.

14 خداوند سرگیجه به آنها داده و آنها مردم مصر را مانند اشخاص مست که بر قی خود می‌افتند و بلند می‌شوند و نمی‌دانند به کجا می‌روند، گمراه کرده‌اند.

Yahweh, hath infused in her midst, a spirit of perverseness, —And they have led Egypt astray into all his own doings, As a drunken man staggereth into his own vomit;

15 هیچ‌کس نمی‌تواند مصر را نجات دهد نه بزرگ نه کوچک، نه ثروتمند و نه فقیر.

And Egypt shall have nothing which can be done, Which head or tail, palm-top or rush, can do!

16 در آن روز، مصری‌ها مانند زنان ضعیف خواهند شد و هنگامی که ببینند خداوند لشکرهای آسمان دستش را برای مجازات آنان دراز کرده است از ترس خواهند لرزید.

In that day, shall Egypt be like unto women, —And shall start and tremble because of the brandishing of the hand of Yahweh of hosts, which he is about to brandish over it.

17 ایشان با شنیدن اسم سرزمین یهودا به وحشت خواهند افتاد. این را خداوند لشکرهای آسمان اراده نموده است.

Then shall the soil of Judah become, to Egypt, a terror; Every one to whom it is mentioned, will tremble, —Because of the purpose of Yahweh of hosts, which he is purposing against it.

18 در آن زمان، پنج شهر در سرزمین مصر از خداوند لشکرهای آسمان پیروی نموده، به زبان کنعانیان سخن خواهند گفت، و یکی از این شهرها «شهر آفتاب» نامیده خواهد شد.

In that day, shall there be five cities in the land of Egypt Speaking the language of Canaan, And swearing unto Yahweh of hosts, —The city of destruction, shall be the name of one!

19 در آن روز، مذبحی در وسط مصر، و ستون یادبودی در مرز آن، برای خداوند بر پا خواهد شد.

In that day, shall there be An altar unto Yahweh, in the midst of the land of Egypt, —And a pillar near the boundary thereof unto Yahweh;

20 اینها نشان دهندهٔ حضور خداوند لشکرهای آسمان در سرزمین مصر خواهند بود. از آن پس، هرگاه مصری‌ها دعا کرده، از خداوند بخواهند تا آنها را از دست ظالمان برهاند، او برای ایشان حامی و نجات دهنده‌ای خواهد فرستاد و ایشان را نجات خواهد داد.

And it shall become a sign and a witness unto Yahweh of hosts in the land of Egypt, —For they will make outcry unto Yahweh, because of oppressors, That he would send them a saviour—and a great one Then will he deliver them.

21 خداوند خود را به مصری‌ها آشکار خواهد کرد و ایشان خداوند را خواهند شناخت. مردم مصر با تقدیم قربانیها و هدایا او را عبادت خواهند کرد و نذرهای خود را به وی ادا خواهند نمود.

Then will, Yahweh, make himself known, to the Egyptians, So shall the Egyptians know, Yahweh, in that day, —And they will offer a sacrifice and a present And will vow a vow unto Yahweh and will perform.

22 به این ترتیب، خداوند اول مصری‌ها را تنبیه خواهد کرد، سپس برگشته ایشان را شفا خواهد داد. بله، مصری‌ها به سوی خداوند بازگشت خواهند کرد و او دعایشان را شنیده، آنان را شفا خواهد داد.

And Yahweh, will plague Egypt, plague and heal, —And they will turn unto Yahweh And he will be entreated of them and will heal them.

23 در آن روز، شاهراهی از مصر به آشور کشیده خواهد شد، و مصری‌ها و آشوری‌ها به سرزمینهای یکدیگر رفت و آمد خواهند کرد و هر دو یک خدا را خواهند پرستید.

In that day, shall there be a highway. from Egypt to Assyria, And, the Assyrians, shall come into Egypt, And, the Egyptians, into Assyria; And, the Egyptians shall serve, with the Assyrians.

24 اسرائیل نیز با ایشان متحد خواهد شد و هر سه مملکت با هم باعث برکت تمام جهان خواهند گردید.

In that day, shall, Israel, be, a third, with Egypt and with Assyria, —A blessing in the midst of the earth:

25 خداوند لشکرهای آسمان آنها را برکت داده، خواهد گفت: «متبارک باد قوم من مصر و صنعت دست من آشور و میراث من اسرائیل!»

Whom Yahweh of hosts hath blessed saying, —Blessed, be My people—the Egyptians, And the work of my hands—the Assyrians, And mine own inheritance—Israel.
