هوشع 7

1 «هر وقت خواستم اسرائیل را شفا دهم و ایشان را دوباره کامیاب سازم، دیدم باز گناه می‌کنند. پایتخت آن سامره مملو از آدمهای فریبکار و دزد و راهزن است!

When I woulde haue healed Israel, then the iniquitie of Ephraim was discouered, and the wickednesse of Samaria: for they haue dealt falsly: and the theefe commeth in, and the robber spoyleth without.

2 ساکنان آنجا نمی‌دانند که من هرگز شرارتشان را فراموش نمی‌کنم. اعمال گناه‌آلودشان از همه طرف آنها را لو می‌دهد و من همه را می‌بینم.

And they consider not in their hearts, that I remember all their wickednes: now their owne inuentions haue beset them about: they are in my sight.

3 «پادشاه از شرارت مردم لذت می‌برد و رهبران از دروغهایشان.

They make the King glad with their wickednesse, and the princes with their lies.

4 همگی آنها زناکارند و در آتش شهوت می‌سوزند. آتش شهوت آنها مانند آتش آمادهٔ تنور نانوایی است که خمیرش را مالش داده و منتظر برآمدن آن است.

They are all adulterers, and as a very ouen heated by ye baker, which ceaseth from raysing vp, and from kneading ye dough vntill it be leauened.

5 «در جشنهای پادشاه، رهبران از شراب مست می‌شوند و او نیز با کسانی که وی را دست انداخته‌اند هم پیاله می‌گردد.

This is the day of our King: the princes haue made him sicke with flagons of wine: he stretcheth out his hand to scorners.

6 دلهایشان از دسیسه بازی، مثل تنور زبانه می‌کشند. توطئهٔ آنها تمام شب به آرامی می‌سوزد و همین که صبح شد مثل آتش ملتهب شعله‌ور می‌گردد.

For they haue made ready their heart like an ouen whiles they lie in waite: their baker sleepeth all the night: in the morning it burneth as a flame of fire.

7 «مردم اسرائیل مانند تنوری سوزان شده، پادشاهان و رهبرانشان را یکی پس از دیگری کشتند و فریاد هیچ‌کدام برای درخواست کمک از من، بلند نشد.

They are all hote as an ouen, and haue deuoured their iudges: all their Kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth vnto me.

8 «قوم من با بت‌پرستان آمیزش کرده، راههای گناه‌آلود آنها را یاد می‌گیرند. آنها همچون نان نیم پخته‌ای هستند که نمی‌شود خورد.

Ephraim hath mixt himselfe among the people. Ephraim is as a cake on the hearth not turned.

9 پرستش خدایان بیگانه قوت ایشان را گرفته است، ولی خودشان نمی‌دانند. موهای سر اسرائیل سفید شده و عمر او به پایان رسیده، اما او از آن بی‌خبر است.

Strangers haue deuoured his strength, and he knoweth it not: yea, gray heares are here and there vpon him, yet he knoweth not.

10 فخر او به خدایان دیگر، آشکارا او را رسوا کرده است. با این حال به سوی خدای خود بازگشت نمی‌کند و در صدد یافتن او برنمی‌آید.

And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face, and they doe not returne to the Lord their God, nor seeke him for all this.

11 «قوم اسرائیل مانند کبوتر، نادان و بی‌فهم هستند. آنها از مصر کمک می‌خواهند و به آشور پرواز می‌کنند؛

Ephraim also is like a doue deceiued, without heart: they call to Egypt: they go to Asshur.

12 ولی من در حین پروازشان تور خود را بر ایشان می‌اندازم و مثل پرنده‌ای آنها را از آسمان به زمین می‌کشم و به خاطر تمام کارهای شرارتبارشان ایشان را مجازات می‌کنم.

But when they shall go, I will spred my net vpon them, and drawe them downe as the foules of the heauen: I will chastice them as their congregation hath heard.

13 «وای بر قوم من! بگذار آنها هلاک شوند، زیرا مرا ترک کرده و به من گناه ورزیده‌اند. می‌خواستم ایشان را نجات بخشم، ولی آنها با من صادق نبودند.

Wo vnto them: for they haue fled away from me: destruction shalbe vnto them, because they haue transgressed against me: though I haue redeemed them, yet they haue spoken lyes against me.

14 آنها از صمیم دل به حضور من فریاد بر نمی‌آورند، بلکه در بستر خود ناله و شیون می‌کنند. آنها خود را زخمی کرده، برای غله و شراب به بتها دعا می‌کنند، و از من روی برمی‌گردانند.

And they haue not cryed vnto me with their hearts, when they houled vpon their beds: they assembled themselues for corne, and wine, and they rebell against me.

15 «من ایشان را یاری نموده و نیرومند ساخته‌ام، ولی از من روگردان شده‌اند.

Though I haue boud and strengthened their arme, yet doe they imagine mischiefe against me.

16 «آنها به همه جا نگاه می‌کنند، جز به آسمان و به سوی خدای متعال. مانند کمان کجی هستند که هرگز تیرش به هدف نمی‌خورد. رهبرانشان به دلیل گستاخی و بی‌احترامی نسبت به من با شمشیر دشمن نابود خواهند شد و تمام مردم مصر به ایشان خواهند خندید.»

They returne, but not to the most high: they are like a deceitfull bowe: their princes shall fall by the sword, for the rage of their tongues: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
