حَجَّی 1
| در سال دوم سلطنت داریوش، در روز اول ماه ششم، خداوند پیامی توسط حَجَّی نبی برای زروبابِل (پسر شئلتیئیل) حاکم یهودا، و برای یهوشع (پسر یهوصادق) کاهن اعظم، فرستاد. | 1 |
In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first of the month, came the word of Yahweh, by the hand of Haggai the prophet, unto Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, pasha of Judah, and unto Jehoshua son of Jehozadak the high priest, saying:
| خداوند لشکرهای آسمان به حَجَّی نبی فرمود: «این قوم می‌گویند که اکنون وقت بازسازی خانهٔ خدا نیست.» | 2 |
Thus, speaketh Yahweh of hosts, saying, —This people, have said, Not yet hath come the time for the house of Yahweh to be built.
| سپس، خداوند این پیام را توسط حَجَّی نبی برای قوم فرستاد: | 3 |
Therefore hath come the word of Yahweh by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying:
| «آیا این درست است که شما در خانه‌های نوساخته زندگی کنید ولی خانهٔ من خراب بماند؟ | 4 |
Is it a time that, ye yourselves, should be dwelling in your own paneled houses? and, this house, be in ruins?
| پس حال خداوند لشکرهای آسمان چنین می‌گوید: به نتیجهٔ کارهایتان نگاه کنید: | 5 |
Now, therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, —Apply your heart unto your own experience—
| بذر زیاد می‌کارید، ولی محصول کم برداشت می‌کنید؛ می‌خورید ولی سیر نمی‌شوید؛ می‌نوشید ولی تشنگی‌تان رفع نمی‌گردد؛ لباس می‌پوشید اما گرم نمی‌شوید؛ مزد می‌گیرید ولی گویی آن را در کیسه‌های سوراخ می‌گذارید. | 6 |
Ye have sown much, but have brought in little, have eaten, and not been filled, have drunk, and not been satisfied with drink, have clothed you, and none hath been warm, —and, he that hath hired himself out, hath put his wages into a bag with holes.
| «خداوند لشکرهای آسمان چنین می‌گوید: خوب فکر کنید و ببینید چه کرده‌اید و نتیجه‌اش چه بوده است! | 7 |
Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, —Apply your heart to your own experience:
| حال به کوه رفته، چوب بیاورید و خانهٔ مرا دوباره بسازید تا من از آن راضی شوم و در آنجا مردم احترام مرا بجا آورند. | 8 |
Ascend the mountain—and bring in wood and build the house, —that I may be pleased therewith and get myself glory, saith Yahweh.
| «انتظار محصول فراوانی داشتید، اما خیلی کم به دست آوردید؛ و وقتی همان مقدار کم را هم به منزل آوردید، آن را از بین بردم. می‌دانید چرا؟ خداوند لشکرهای آسمان می‌فرماید: چون خانهٔ من خراب مانده و شما فقط به فکر خانه‌های خود هستید. | 9 |
When ye looked for much, then lo! it came to little, when ye brought it home, then I did blow into it, — Because of what? Demandeth Yahweh of hosts, Because of my house, the which is in ruins, while ye keep running every man to his own house.
| به همین علّت است که آسمان نمی‌بارد و زمین محصول خود را نمی‌دهد. | 10 |
Wherefore—on your account, have the heavens, held back, dew, — and, the earth, held back her fruit;
| من در سرزمین شما خشکسالی پدید آورده‌ام و این خشکسالی تمام کوهها، مزرعه‌ها، تاکستانها، باغهای زیتون و سایر محصولات و حتی انسان و حیوان و تمام حاصل دسترنج شما را فرا خواهد گرفت.» | 11 |
And I have called for drought, upon the land and upon the mountains, and upon the corn and upon the new wine and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground, bringeth forth, —and upon man, and upon beast, and upon all the labour of the hands.
| آنگاه زروبابِل و یهوشع و تمام کسانی که از اسارت برگشته بودند از خداوند ترسیدند و پیام حَجَّی نبی را که خداوند، خدایشان به او داده بود اطاعت کردند. | 12 |
Then hearkened Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jehoshua son of Jehozadak the high priest, and all the remnant of the people, unto the voice of Yahweh their God, and unto the words of Haggai the prophet, as Yahweh their God, had sent him, —and the people, stood in awe, before Yahweh.
| سپس خداوند بار دیگر توسط نبی خود حَجَّی به قوم فرمود: «من با شما هستم.» | 13 |
Then spake Haggai the messenger of Yahweh, in the message of Yahweh, to the people saying, —I, am with you, Declareth Yahweh.
| خداوند روحِ زَروبابِل فرزند شِئَلتیئیل فرماندار یهودا، و روحِ یِهوشَع فرزند یِهوصاداق کاهن اعظم، و روح تمامی باقیماندگان قوم را برانگیخت تا خانهٔ یهوه خدای خود، خدای لشکرهای آسمان، را بسازند. | 14 |
Thus did Yahweh, stir up—the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, pasha of Judah, and the spirit of Jehoshua son of Jehozadak the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, —and they came in and did service in the house of Yahweh of hosts their God:
| پس، در سال دوم سلطنت داریوش در روز بیست و چهارم ماه ششم خانۀ خداوند ساخته شد. | 15 |
on the twenty-fourth day of the month, in the sixth month, —in the second year of Darius the king.
