حبقوق 3

1 این است دعای حبقوق نبی:

A PRAYER of Habakkuk the prophet, set to Shigionoth.

2 ای خداوند، خبری را که به من دادی شنیدم و برای کارهایی که انجام خواهی داد با ترس و احترام تو را پرستش می‌کنم. دوباره مثل سالهای گذشته قدرت خود را به ما نشان ده تا نجات یابیم و در حین غضب خود، رحمت را به یاد آور.

O LORD, I have heard the report of thee, and am afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.

3 خدا را می‌بینم که از تیمان می‌آید، آن قدوس از کوه فاران حرکت می‌کند. جلالش آسمانها را در بر گرفته و زمین از حمد و سپاس او پر است!

God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. (Selah) His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.

4 درخشش او مانند طلوع خورشید است و از دستهای او که قدرتش در آنها نهفته است، نور می‌تابد.

And [his] brightness was as the light; he had rays [coming forth] from his hand: and there was the hiding of his power.

5 او مرض را پیشاپیش خود می‌فرستد و به مرگ فرمان می‌دهد که به دنبال او بیاید.

Before him went the pestilence, and fiery bolts went forth at his feet.

6 وقتی او می‌ایستد زمین تکان می‌خورد و هنگامی که نگاه می‌کند، قومها می‌لرزند. کوههای ازلی خرد می‌شوند و تپه‌های ابدی با خاک یکسان می‌گردند. قدرت او بی‌زوال است.

He stood, and measured the earth; he beheld, and drove asunder the nations: and the eternal mountains were scattered, the everlasting hills did bow; his goings were [as] of old.

7 مردمان کوشان و مدیان را می‌بینم که دچار ترس و اضطراب شده‌اند.

I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction: the curtains of the land of Midian did tremble.

8 خداوندا، آیا تو بر رودخانه‌ها و دریا خشمگین بودی که بر اسبان و ارابه‌هایت سوار شدی؟ نه، تو برای پیروزی قومت این کار را کردی.

Was the LORD displeased against the rivers? was thine anger against the rivers, or thy wrath against the sea, that thou didst ride upon thine horses, upon thy chariots of salvation?

9 تو کمان را به دست گرفته، تیرها را آماده کردی و صاعقه را فرستاده زمین را شکافتی.

Thy bow was made quite bare; the oaths to the tribes were a [sure] word. (Selah) Thou didst cleave the earth with rivers.

10 کوهها تو را دیدند و به لرزه افتادند و سیلابها جاری شدند. آبهای عمیق طغیان کردند و امواجشان بالا آمدند.

The mountains saw thee, and were afraid; the tempest of waters passed by: the deep uttered his voice, and lifted up his hands on high.

11 از نور تیرهایت و از برق نیزه‌های درخشانت خورشید و ماه ایستادند.

The sun and moon stood still in their habitation; at the light of thine arrows as they went, at the shining of thy glittering spear.

12 با غضب جهان را پیمودی و قومها را زیر پای خود لگدمال کردی.

Thou didst march through the land in indignation, thou didst thresh the nations in anger.

13 تو برای نجات قوم برگزیدهٔ خود برخاستی و رهبر شریران را نابود کردی و پیروانش را از بین بردی.

Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, for the salvation of thine anointed; thou woundedst the head out of the house of the wicked, laying bare the foundation even unto the neck. (Selah)

14 آنها مثل گردباد بیرون آمده، خیال کردند اسرائیل به آسانی به چنگشان می‌افتد، ولی تو با سلاحهای خودشان آنها را نابود کردی.

Thou didst pierce with his own staves the head of his warriors: they came as a whirlwind to scatter me: their rejoicing was as to devour the poor secretly.

15 با اسبان خود از دریا عبور کردی و آبهای نیرومند را زیر پا نهادی.

Thou didst tread the sea with thine horses, the heap of mighty waters.

16 وقتی اینها را شنیدم، ترسیدم و لبهایم لرزیدند. بدنم بی‌حس و زانوانم سست گردید. به آرامی انتظار روزی را می‌کشم که خدا قومی را که بر ما هجوم می‌آورد مجازات کند.

I heard, and my belly trembled, my lips quivered at the voice; rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in my place: that I should rest in the day of trouble, when it cometh up against the people which invadeth him in troops.

17 هر چند درخت انجیر شکوفه ندهد و درخت انگور میوه نیاورد، هر چند محصول زیتون از بین برود و زمینها بایر بمانند، هر چند گله‌ها در صحرا بمیرند و آغلها از حیوانات خالی شوند،

For though the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:

18 اما من شاد و خوشحال خواهم بود، زیرا خداوند نجا‌ت‌دهندۀ من است.

Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

19 خداوند یهوه قوت من است! او به من قوت می‌دهد تا مانند آهو بدوم و از صخره‌های بلند، بالا بروم. برای رهبر سرایندگان، با همراهی سازهای زهی.

Jehovah, the Lord, is my strength, and he maketh my feet like hinds’ [feet], and will make me to walk upon mine high places. For the Chief Musician, on my stringed instruments.
