| پس یعقوب با هر چه که داشت کوچ کرده، به بئرشبع آمد و در آنجا برای خدای پدرش اسحاق، قربانیها تقدیم کرد. | 1 |
And Israel commenced his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.
| شب هنگام، خدا در رویا به وی گفت: «یعقوب! یعقوب!» عرض کرد: «بله، خداوندا!» | 2 |
And God spoke unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.
| گفت: «من خدا هستم، خدای پدرت! از رفتن به مصر نترس، زیرا در آنجا از تو قوم بزرگی به وجود خواهم آورد. | 3 |
And he said, I am God, the God of thy father; fear not to go down into Egypt; for a great nation will I make of thee there:
| من با تو به مصر خواهم آمد و تو را به یقین باز خواهم آورد. تو در مصر خواهی مرد و یوسف با دست خود چشمانت را خواهد بست.» | 4 |
I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again; and Joseph shall put his hand upon thy eyes.
| یعقوب از بئرشبع کوچ کرد و پسرانش او را همراه زنان و فرزندانشان با ارابه‌هایی که فرعون به ایشان داده بود، به مصر بردند. | 5 |
And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
| آنها گله و رمه و تمامی اموالی را که در کنعان اندوخته بودند، با خود به مصر آوردند. | 6 |
And they took their cattle and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt; Jacob, and all his seed with him:
| یعقوب با پسران و دختران و نوه‌های پسری و دختری خود و تمام خویشانش به مصر آمد. | 7 |
His sons, and his son's sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, and all his seed he brought with him into Egypt.
| اسامی پسران و نوه‌های یعقوب که با وی به مصر آمدند از این قرار است: رئوبین پسر ارشد او | 8 |
And these are the names of the children of Israel, that came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: the first-born of Jacob, Reuben.
| و پسرانش: حنوک، فلو، حصرون و کرمی. | 9 |
And the sons of Reuben: Chanoch, and Pallu, and Chezron, and Carmi.
| شمعون و پسرانش: یموئیل، یامین، اوحد، یاکین، صوحر و شائول. (مادر شائول کنعانی بود.) | 10 |
And the sons of Simeon: Yemuel, and Yamin, and Ohad, and Yachin, and Zochar, and Shaul the son of the Canaanitish woman.
| لاوی و پسرانش: جرشون، قهات و مراری. | 11 |
And the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kehath, and Merari.
| یهودا و پسرانش: عیر، اونان، شیله، فارص و زارح. (اما عیر و اونان پیش از رفتن یعقوب به مصر در کنعان مردند.) پسران فارص، حصرون و حامول بودند. | 12 |
And the sons of Judah: 'Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Perez, and Zerach; but 'Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan, and the sons of Perez were Chezron and Chamul.
| یساکار و پسرانش: تولاع، فوّه، یوب و شمرون. | 13 |
And the sons of Issachar: Tola, and Puvah, and Yob, and Shimron.
| زبولون و پسرانش: سارد، ایلون و یاحل‌ئیل. | 14 |
And the sons of Zebulun: Sered, and Elon, and Yachleel.
| اینها بودند پسران لیه که آنها را با دختر خود دینه، در فَدّان‌اَرام برای یعقوب به دنیا آورد. این پسران و دختران یعقوب در مجموع سی و سه نفر بودند. | 15 |
These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore unto Jacob in Padan-aram, with Dinah his daughter: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.
| پسران جاد: صفیون، حجّی، شونی، اصبون، عیری، ارودی و ارئیلی. | 16 |
And the sons of Gad: Ziphyon, and Chaggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, 'Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.
| پسران اشیر: یمنه، یشوه، یشوی، بریعه و دخترش سِراح. پسران بریعه حابر و ملکی‌ئیل بودند. | 17 |
And the sons of Asher: Yimnah, and Yishvah, and Yishvi, and Beriah, and Serach their sister; and the sons of Beriah: Cheber, and Malkiel.
| اینان بودند پسران یعقوب و زلفه، کنیزی که لابان به دخترش لیه داده بود. آنها در مجموع شانزده نفر بودند. | 18 |
These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and she bore these unto Jacob, sixteen souls.
| پسران راحیل، همسر یعقوب: یوسف و بنیامین. | 19 |
The sons of Rachel, Jacob's wife: Joseph and Benjamin.
| پسران یوسف که در مصر متولد شدند: منسی و افرایم. مادرشان اسنات، دختر فوطی فارع، کاهن اون بود. | 20 |
And there were born unto Joseph in the land of Egypt Menasseh and Ephraim, whom Assenath the daughter of Poti-phera', the priest of On, bore unto him.
| پسران بنیامین: بالع، باکر، اشبیل، جیرا، نعمان، ایحی، رش، مفیّم، حفیّم و آرد. | 21 |
And the sons of Benjamin: Bela', and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Echi, and Rosh, Muppim and Chuppim, and Ard.
| اینان بودند پسران راحیل و یعقوب. آنها در مجموع چهارده نفر بودند. | 22 |
These are the sons of Rachel, that were born to Jacob: in all fourteen souls.
| پسر دان: حوشیم. | 23 |
And the son of Dan: Chushim.
| پسران نفتالی: یحص‌ئیل، جونی، یصر و شلیّم. | 24 |
And the sons of Naphtali: Yachzeel, and Guni, and Yezer, and Shillem.
| اینان بودند پسران یعقوب و بلهه، کنیزی که لابان به دخترش راحیل داده بود. در مجموع هفت نفر بودند. | 25 |
These are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bore these unto Jacob, in all seven souls.
| پس تعداد افرادی که از نسل یعقوب همراه او به مصر رفتند (غیر از زنان پسرانش) شصت و شش نفر بود. | 26 |
All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, that came out of his loins, besides the wives of Jacob's sons, were in all sixty and six souls.
| برای یوسف نیز دو پسر در مصر متولد شدند. پس جمع افراد خانوادهٔ یعقوب که در مصر بودند، هفتاد نفر می‌شد. | 27 |
And the sons of Joseph, who were born him in Egypt, were two souls; all the souls of the house of Jacob, that came into Egypt, were seventy.
| یعقوب، پسرش یهودا را پیشاپیش نزد یوسف فرستاد تا از او بپرسد که از چه راهی باید به زمین جوشن بروند. وقتی به جوشن رسیدند، | 28 |
And Judah he sent before him unto Joseph, to direct him beforehand unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.
| یوسف ارابهٔ خود را حاضر کرد و برای دیدن پدرش به جوشن رفت. وقتی در آنجا پدرش را دید، او را در آغوش گرفته، مدتی گریست. | 29 |
And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen; and when he obtained sight of him, he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
| آنگاه یعقوب به یوسف گفت: «حال، مرا غم مُردن نیست، زیرا بار دیگر تو را دیدم و می‌دانم که زنده‌ای.» | 30 |
And Israel said unto Joseph, Let me die now, since I have seen thy face, that thou art yet alive.
| یوسف به برادرانش و تمامی افراد خانواده آنها گفت: «حال می‌روم تا به فرعون خبر دهم که شما از کنعان به نزد من آمده‌اید. | 31 |
And Joseph said unto his brothers, and unto his father's house, I will go up, and tell Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brothers and my father's house, who were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;
| به او خواهم گفت که شما چوپان هستید و تمامی گله‌ها و رمه‌ها و هر آنچه را که داشته‌اید همراه خویش آورده‌اید. | 32 |
And the men are shepherds, for they have been owners of cattle; and their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, they have brought along.
| پس اگر فرعون از شما بپرسد که شغل شما چیست، | 33 |
And it shall come to pass, if Pharaoh should have you called, and say, What is your occupation?
| به او بگویید که از ابتدای جوانی تا به حال به شغل چوپانی و گله‌داری مشغول بوده‌اید و این کار را از پدران خود به ارث برده‌اید. اگر چنین به فرعون پاسخ دهید او به شما اجازه خواهد داد تا در جوشن ساکن شوید، چون مردم سایر نقاط مصر از چوپانان نفرت دارند.» | 34 |
That ye shall say, Owners of cattle have thy servants been from our youth even until now, both we, as also our fathers; in order that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
