| اینها هستند نسل سام و حام و یافث، پسران نوح، که بعد از طوفان متولد شدند: | 1 |
And these [are] the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and sons are born to them after the flood.
| پسران یافث عبارت بودند از: جومر، ماجوج، مادای، یاوان، توبال، ماشَک و تیراس. | 2 |
Sons of Japheth [are] Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
| پسران جومر: اَشکناز، ریفات و توجَرمِه. | 3 |
And sons of Gomer [are] Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
| پسران یاوان: الیشه، ترشیش، کتیم و رودانیم. | 4 |
And sons of Javan [are] Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
| فرزندان این افراد به تدریج در سواحل و جزایر دنیا پخش شدند و اقوامی را با زبانهای گوناگون به وجود آوردند. | 5 |
By these the islands of the nations have been parted in their lands, each by his tongue, by their families, in their nations.
| پسران حام اینها بودند: کوش، مصرایم، فوط و کنعان. | 6 |
And sons of Ham [are] Cush, and Mitzraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
| پسران کوش: سبا، حویله، سبته، رعمه، سبتکا. پسران رعمه: شبا و ددان. | 7 |
And sons of Cush [are] Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah; and sons of Raamah [are] Sheba and Dedan.
| یکی از فرزندان کوش، شخصی بود به نام نمرود که در دنیا، دلاوری بزرگ و معروف گشت. | 8 |
And Cush has begotten Nimrod;
| او با قدرتی که خداوند به وی داده بود، تیرانداز ماهری شد؛ از این جهت، وقتی می‌خواهند از مهارتِ تیراندازی کسی تعریف کنند، می‌گویند: «خداوند تو را در تیراندازی مانند نمرود گرداند.» | 9 |
he has begun to be a hero in the land; he has been a hero in hunting before YHWH; therefore it is said, “As Nimrod the hero [in] hunting before YHWH.”
| قلمرو فرمانروایی او ابتدا شامل بابِل، ارک، اَکَد و کَلنِه در سرزمین شنعار بود. | 10 |
And the first part of his kingdom is Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar;
| سپس قلمرو خود را تا آشور گسترش داده، نینوا، رحوبوت عیر، کالح | 11 |
from that land he has gone out to Asshur, and builds Nineveh, even the broad places of the city, and Calah,
| و ریسن (شهر بزرگی که بین نینوا و کالح واقع است) را بنا کرد. | 12 |
and Resen, between Nineveh and Calah; it [is] the great city.
| مصرایم، جد اقوام زیر بود: لودی‌ها، عنامی‌ها، لهابی‌ها، نفتوحی‌ها، | 13 |
And Mitzraim has begotten the Ludim, and the Anamim, and the Lehabim, and the Naphtuhim,
| فتروسی‌ها، کسلوحی‌ها (که فلسطینی‌ها از این قوم به وجود آمدند) و کفتوری‌ها. | 14 |
and the Pathrusim, and the Casluhim (from where have come out Philistim), and the Caphtorim.
| صیدون پسر ارشد کنعان بود و از کنعان اقوام زیر به وجود آمدند: حیتّی‌ها، | 15 |
And Canaan has begotten Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,
| یبوسی‌ها، اموری‌ها، جرجاشی‌ها، | 16 |
and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,
| حوّی‌ها، عرقی‌ها، سینی‌ها، | 17 |
and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
| اروادی‌ها، صماری‌ها و حماتی‌ها. پس از آن، طوایف کنعانی منشعب شدند، | 18 |
and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite; and afterward the families of the Canaanite have been scattered.
| و قلمرو کنعان از صیدون در شمال تا جرار و غزه در جنوب، و در شرق تا سدوم و عموره و ادمه و صبوئیم که نزدیک لاشع بود، می‌رسید. | 19 |
And the border of the Canaanite is from Sidon, [in] your coming toward Gerar, to Gaza; [in] your coming toward Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, to Lasha.
| اینها نسل حام بودند که در قبایل و سرزمینهای خود زندگی می‌کردند و هر یک زبان خاص خود را داشتند. | 20 |
These [are] sons of Ham, by their families, by their tongues, in their lands, in their nations.
| از نسل سام، که برادر بزرگ یافث بود، عابر به وجود آمد (عابر جد عبرانیان است). | 21 |
As for Shem, father of all sons of Eber, the older brother of Japheth, he has also begotten.
| این است اسامی پسران سام: عیلام، آشور، ارفکشاد، لود و ارام. | 22 |
Sons of Shem [are] Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
| اینانند پسران ارام: عوص، حول، جاتر و ماشک. | 23 |
And sons of Aram [are] Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
| ارفکشاد پدر شالح، و شالح پدر عابر بود. | 24 |
And Arphaxad has begotten Salah, and Salah has begotten Eber.
| عابر صاحب دو پسر شد. نام اولی فِلِج بود زیرا در زمان او بود که مردم دنیا متفرق شدند. برادر او یُقطان نام داشت. | 25 |
And two sons have been born to Eber; the name of the first [is] Peleg (for in his days the earth has been divided), and his brother’s name [is] Joktan.
| یُقطان جد الموداد، شالف، حضرموت، یارح، | 26 |
And Joktan has begotten Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
| هدورام، اوزال، دقله، | 27 |
and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
| عوبال، ابیمائیل، شبا، | 28 |
and Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
| اوفیر، حویله و یوباب بود. اینان همه از نسل یُقطان بودند. | 29 |
and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab; all these [are] sons of Joktan;
| ایشان از نواحی میشا تا کوهستانهای شرقی سفاره پراکنده بودند و در آنجا زندگی می‌کردند. | 30 |
and their dwelling is from Mesha, [in] your coming toward Sephar, a mountain of the east.
| اینها بودند فرزندان سام که در قبایل و سرزمینهای خود زندگی می‌کردند و هر یک زبان خاص خود را داشتند. | 31 |
These [are] sons of Shem, by their families, by their tongues, in their lands, by their nations.
| همهٔ افرادی که در بالا نام برده شدند، از نسل نوح بودند که بعد از طوفان، در دنیا پخش شدند و قومهای گوناگون را به وجود آوردند. | 32 |
These [are] families of the sons of Noah, by their generations, in their nations, and by these the nations have been parted in the earth after the flood.
