| عدهٔ زیادی از یهودیانی که نِبوکَدنِصَّر، پادشاه بابِل، آنها را اسیر کرده به بابِل برده بود، به یهودا و اورشلیم بازگشتند و هر کس به زادگاه خود رفت. | 1 |
Now, these, are the sons of the province, who came up from among the captives of the exile, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon exiled to Babylon, —who came back unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his own city;
| رهبران یهودیان در این سفر عبارت بودند از: زروبابِل، یهوشع، نِحِمیا، سرایا، رعیلایا، مُردخای، بِلشان، مِسفار، بِغوای، رِحوم و بَعَنا. نام طایفه‌های یهودیانی که به وطن بازگشتند و تعداد آنها، به شرح زیر است: | 2 |
who came in with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai Rehum, Baanah, —the number of the men of the people of Israel: —
| از طایفۀ فرعوش ۲٬۱۷۲ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ شفطیا ۳۷۲ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ آرح ۷۷۵ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ فحت موآب (که از نسل یشوع و یوآب بود) ۲٬۸۱۲ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ عیلام ۱٬۲۵۴ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ زتو ۹۴۵ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ زکای ۷۶۰ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ بانی ۶۴۲ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ ببای ۶۲۳ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ ازجد ۱٬۲۲۲ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ ادونیقام ۶۶۶ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ بغوای ۲٬۰۵۶ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ عادین ۴۵۴ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ آطیر (که از نسل حِزِقیا بود) ۹۸ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ بیصای ۳۲۳ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ یوره ۱۱۲ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ حاشوم ۲۲۳ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ جبار ۹۵ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ بیت‌لحم ۱۲۳ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ نطوفه ۵۶ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ عناتوت ۱۲۸ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ عزموت ۴۲ نفر؛ از طایفه‌های قریت یعاریم و کفیره و بئیروت ۷۴۳ نفر؛ از طایفه‌های رامه و جبع ۶۲۱ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ مخماس ۱۲۲ نفر؛ از طایفه‌های بیت‌ئیل و عای ۲۲۳ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ نبو ۵۲ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ مغبیش ۱۵۶ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ عیلام ۱٬۲۵۴ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ حاریم ۳۲۰ نفر؛ از طایفه‌های لود، حادید و اونو ۷۲۵ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ اریحا ۳۴۵ نفر؛ از طایفهٔ سناعه ۳٬۶۳۰ نفر. | 3 |

The Sons of the Servants of Solomon. The sons of Sotai, the sons of Hasso-phereth, the sons of Peruda;

the sons of Jaalah, the sons of Darkon, the sons of Giddel;
| 57 |
the sons of Shephatiah, the sons of Hattil, the sons of Pochereth-hazzebaim, the sons of Ami.
| خدمتگزاران خانهٔ خدا و نسل خادمان سلیمان پادشاه، جمعاً ۳۹۲ نفر بودند. | 58 |
All the Nethinim, and the Sons of the Servants of Solomon, were three hundred and ninety-two.
| در این هنگام گروهی دیگر از تل ملح، تل حرشا، کروب، ادان و امیر به اورشلیم و سایر شهرهای یهودا بازگشتند. آنها نمی‌توانستند از طریق نسب نامه‌های خود ثابت کنند که اسرائیلی‌اند. | 59 |
And, these, were they who came up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addan, Immer; but they could not tell their ancestral house, nor their seed, whether, of Israel, they were:
| اینها از طایفه‌های دلایا، طوبیا و نقودا بودند که جمعاً ۶۵۲ نفر می‌شدند. | 60 |
the sons of Delaiah, the sons of Tobiah, the sons of Nekoda, —six hundred and fifty-two.
| از کاهنان سه طایفه به نامهای حبایا و هقوص و برزلائی به اورشلیم بازگشتند. (بزرگ طایفهٔ برزلائی همان کسی است که با یکی از دختران برزلائی جلعادی ازدواج کرد و نام خانوادگی او را روی خود گذاشت.) | 61 |
And, of the sons of the priests, the sons of Habaiah, the sons of Hakkoz, —the sons of Barzillai, who took of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite to wife, and was called after their name.
| ولی ایشان چون نتوانستند از طریق نسب نامه‌های خود ثابت کنند که از نسل کاهنان هستند، از کهانت اخراج شدند. | 62 |
These, sought their writing wherein they were registered, but they were not found, —so they were desecrated out of the priesthood;
| حاکم یهودیان به ایشان اجازه نداد از قربانیهای سهم کاهنان بخورند تا اینکه به‌وسیلهٔ اوریم و تُمّیم از طرف خداوند معلوم شود که آیا ایشان واقعاً از نسل کاهنان هستند یا نه. | 63 |
and the governor told them, that they must not eat of the most holy things, —until there should stand up a priest, with Lights and Perfections.
| پس جمعاً ۴۲٬۳۶۰ نفر به سرزمین یهودا بازگشتند. علاوه بر این تعداد ۷٬۳۳۷ غلام و کنیز و ۲۰۰ نوازنده مرد و زن نیز به وطن بازگشتند. | 64 |
All the gathered host together, was forty-two thousand three hundred and sixty;

besides, their men-servants and their maid-servants who were these, seven thousand three hundred and thirty-seven, —and there pertained to them, singing men and singing women, two hundred:
| آنها ۷۳۶ اسب، ۲۴۵ قاطر، ۴۳۵ شتر و ۶٬۷۲۰ الاغ با خود بردند. | 66 |
their horses, were seven hundred and thirty-six, —their mules, two hundred and forty-five;
| 67 |
their camels, four hundred and thirty-five, —asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
| وقتی ایشان به اورشلیم رسیدند، بعضی از سران قوم برای بازسازی خانۀ خداوند هدایای داوطلبانه تقدیم کردند. | 68 |
And, a portion of the ancestral chiefs, when they came to the house of Yahweh which was in Jerusalem, offered voluntarily for the house of God, to set it up on its basis.
| هر یک از ایشان به قدر توانایی خود هدیه داد، که روی‌هم‌رفته عبارت بود از: ۵۰۰ کیلوگرم طلا و ۲٬۸۰۰ کیلوگرم نقره و صد دست لباس برای کاهنان. | 69 |
According to their ability, gave they unto the treasury of the work, of gold, sixty-one thousand drams, and, of silver, five thousand manehs, —and, tunics for priests, one hundred.
| پس کاهنان، لاویان، خوانندگان و نوازندگان و نگهبانان و خدمتگزاران خانهٔ خدا و بعضی از مردم در اورشلیم و شهرهای اطراف آن ساکن شدند. بقیه قوم نیز به شهرهای خود رفتند. | 70 |
So the priests and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers and the doorkeepers and the Nethinim, took up their abode, in their cities, —and, all Israel, in their cities.
