عِزرا 10
| همان‌طور که عِزرا در مقابل خانهٔ خدا روی بر زمین نهاده بود و گریه‌کنان دعا و اعتراف می‌کرد، عدۀ زیادی از مردان و زنان و اطفال اسرائیلی نیز دورش جمع شدند و با او گریه کردند. | 1 |
Now when 'Ezra prayed, and when he made his confession, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there gathered themselves unto him out of Israel a very large assembly of men and women and children; for the people wept exceedingly much.
| سپس شکنیا پسر یحی‌ئیل که از طایفهٔ عیلام بود به عِزرا گفت: «ما اعتراف می‌کنیم که نسبت به خدای خود گناه ورزیده‌ایم، چون با زنان غیریهودی ازدواج کرده‌ایم. ولی با وجود این، باز امیدی برای بنی‌اسرائیل باقی است. | 2 |
Thereupon commenced Shechanyah the son of Jechiel, of the sons of 'Elam, and said unto 'Ezra, we have indeed trespassed against our God, and have brought home strange wives of the nations of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.
| اینک در حضور خدای خویش قول می‌دهیم که از زنان خود جدا شویم و آنها را با فرزندانشان از این سرزمین دور کنیم. ما در این مورد از دستور تو و آنانی که از خدا می‌ترسند پیروی می‌کنیم، و طبق شریعت عمل می‌نماییم. | 3 |
And now let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the direction of the Lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God: and let it be done according to the law.
| حال برخیز و به ما بگو چه کنیم. ما از تو پشتیبانی خواهیم کرد، پس ناامید نباش و آنچه لازم است انجام بده.» | 4 |
Arise; for this matter is obligatory upon thee; and we will be with thee: be strong, and do it.
| آنگاه عِزرا بلند شد و از سران کاهنان و لاویان و تمام بنی‌اسرائیل خواست تا قسم بخورند که هر چه شکنیا گفته است انجام دهند؛ و همه قسم خوردند. | 5 |
Then arose 'Ezra, and caused the princes of the priests, the Levites, and of all Israel, to swear to do according to this word. And they swore.
| سپس عِزرا از برابر خانهٔ خدا برخاست و به اتاق یهوحانان (پسر الیاشیب) رفت و شب در آنجا ماند، ولی نه نان خورد و نه آب نوشید، چون به سبب گناه قوم ماتم گرفته بود. | 6 |
Then arose 'Ezra from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Jochanan the son of Elyashib; and he went thither without having eaten bread, or having drunk water; for he was mourning because of the trespass of the exiles.
| پس در سراسر یهودا و اورشلیم اعلام شد که تمام قوم باید در عرض سه روز در اورشلیم جمع شوند و اگر کسی از آمدن خودداری کند طبق تصمیم سران و بزرگان قوم اموال او ضبط خواهد گردید و خود او هم از میان قوم اسرائیل منقطع خواهد شد. | 7 |
And they made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the exile, to gather themselves together at Jerusalem;

And that whosoever should not come within three days, according to the resolve of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be devoted, and himself separated from the congregation of the exiles.
| پس از سه روز که روز بیستم ماه نهم بود، تمام مردان یهودا و بنیامین در اورشلیم جمع شدند و در میدان جلوی خانهٔ خدا نشستند. آنها به سبب اهمیت موضوع و به خاطر باران شدیدی که می‌بارید، می‌لرزیدند. | 9 |
Then were all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered together unto Jerusalem within three days: it was in the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the open place before the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and by reason of the showers of rain.
| سپس عِزرای کاهن بلند شد و به ایشان چنین گفت: «شما مرتکب گناه شده‌اید، چون با زنان غیریهودی ازدواج کرده‌اید و با این کارتان به گناهان بنی‌اسرائیل افزوده‌اید. | 10 |
And 'Ezra the priest rose up, and said unto them, Ye have acted unfaithfully, and have brought home strange wives, to increase yet more the guiltiness of Israel.
| حال در حضور خداوند، خدای اجدادتان به گناهان خود اعتراف کنید و خواست او را به جا آورید. خود را از قومهایی که در اطراف شما هستند دور نگه دارید و از این زنان بیگانه جدا شوید.» | 11 |
Now therefore make confession unto the Lord the God of your fathers, and do his will; and separate yourselves from the nations of the earth, and from the strange wives.
| همه با صدای بلند جواب دادند: «آنچه گفته‌ای انجام می‌دهیم. | 12 |
Then answered all the assembly and said with a loud voice, So be it: according to thy word it is our duty to do.
| ولی این کار یکی دو روز نیست. چون عدهٔ کسانی که به چنین گناهی آلوده شده‌اند زیاد است. در ضمن باران هم به شدت می‌بارد و بیش از این نمی‌توانیم در اینجا بایستیم. | 13 |
But the people are many, and it is the rainy season, and we have not the strength to remain in the street, nor is this a work for one day or for two days; for we are many that have transgressed in this matter.
| بگذار سران ما در اورشلیم بمانند و به این کار رسیدگی کنند. سپس هر کس که زن غیریهودی دارد، در وقت تعیین شده با بزرگان و قضات شهر خود بیاید تا به وضعش رسیدگی شود و خشم خدای ما از ما برگردد.» | 14 |
Let however our princes stand forward for all the congregation, and let all those in our cities who have brought home strange wives come at appointed times, and with them the elders of each and every city, and its judges, until the fierce wrath of our God be turned away from us for this whole matter.
| کسی با این پیشنهاد مخالفت نکرد، جز یوناتان (پسر عسائیل) و یحزیا (پسر تقوه) که از پشتیبانی مشلام و شبتای لاوی برخوردار بودند. | 15 |
Only Jonathan the son of 'Assahel and Jachzeyah the son of Thikvah withstood this [proposal]: and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite assisted them.
| قوم این روش را پذیرفتند و عِزرای کاهن چند نفر از سران طایفه‌ها را انتخاب کرد و اسامی‌شان را نوشت. این گروه، روز اول ماه دهم تحقیق خود را شروع کردند، | 16 |
And the children of the exile did so. And then were set apart 'Ezra the priest, [and] certain chiefs of the divisions, for their family divisions, and all of them [designated] by their names; and they sat down on the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.
| و در عرض سه ماه به وضع مردانی که همسران بیگانه داشتند رسیدگی نمودند. | 17 |
And they made an end with all, with the men that had brought home strange wives, not before the first day of the first month.
| این است اسامی مردانی که زنان بیگانه داشتند: از کاهنان: از طایفۀ یهوشع پسر یهوصادق و برادرانش: معسیا، الیعزر، یاریب، جدلیا. | 18 |
And there were found among the sons of the priests that had brought home strange wives, namely, of the sons of Jeshua' the son of Jozadak, and his brethren: Ma'asseyah, and Eli'ezer, and Jarib, and Gedalyah.
| این مردان قول دادند که از همسران بیگانهٔ خود جدا شوند و هر یک برای بخشیده شدن گناهش، یک قوچ برای قربانی تقدیم کرد. | 19 |
And they gave their hand to put away their wives, and being guilty, [they offered] a ram of the flock for their trespass.
| از طایفهٔ امیر: حنانی و زبدیا. | 20 |
And of the sons of Immer: Chanani, and Zebadyah.
| از طایفۀ حاریم: معسیا، ایلیا، شمعیا، یحی‌ئیل، عزیا. | 21 |
And of the sons of Charim: Ma'asseyah, and Elijah, and Shema'yah, and Jechiel, and 'Uzziyah.
| از طایفۀ فشحور: الیوعینای، معسیا، اسماعیل، نتن‌ئیل، یوزاباد، العاسه. | 22 |
And of the sons of Pashchur: Elyo'enai, Ma'asseyah. Ishmael, Nethanel, Jozabad, and El'assah.
| از لاویان: یوزاباد، شمعی، قلایا (معروف به قلیطا)، فتحیا، یهودا، الیعزر. | 23 |
Also of the Levites: Jozabad, and Shim'i, and Kelayan, the same is Kelita, Pethachyah, Judah, and Eli'ezer.
| از نوازندگان: الیاشیب. از نگهبانان خانۀ خدا: شلوم، طالم، اوری. | 24 |
And of the singers, Elyashib; and of the gate-keepers, Shallum, and Telem, and Uri.
| از بقیۀ قوم: از طایفۀ فرعوش: رمیا، یزیا، ملکیا، میامین، العازار، ملکیا، بنایا. | 25 |
And of Israel: Of the sons of Par'osh, Ramyah, and Yizziyah, and Malkiyah, and Miyamin, and El'azar, and Malkiyah, and Benayah.
| از طایفۀ عیلام: متنیا، زکریا، یحی‌ئیل، عبدی، یریموت، ایلیا. | 26 |
And of the sons of 'Elam; Matthanyah, Zecharyah, and Jechiel, and 'Abdi, and Jeremoth, and Eliyah.
| از طایفۀ زتو: الیوعینای، الیاشیب، متنیا، یریموت، زاباد، عزیزا. | 27 |
And of the sons of Zatthu: Elyo'enai, Elyashib, Matthanyah, and Jeremoth, and Zabad, and 'Aziza.
| از طایفۀ ببای: یهوحانان، حَنَنیا، زبای، عتلای. | 28 |
And of the sons of Bebai: Jehochanan, Chananyah, Zabbai, and 'Athlai.
| از طایفهٔ بانی: مشلام، ملوک، عدایا، یاشوب، شآل، راموت. | 29 |
And of the sons of Bani: Meshullam, Malluch, and 'Adayah, Jashub, and Sheal, and Ramoth.
| از طایفهٔ فحت موآب: عدنا، کلال، بنایا، معسیا، متنیا، بِصَلئیل، بنوی، منسی. | 30 |
And of the sons of Pachath-moab: 'Adna, and Kelal, Benayah, Ma'asseyah, Matthanyah, Bezalel, and Binnui, and Menasseh.
| از طایفهٔ حاریم: الیعزر، اشیاء، ملکیا، شمعیا، شمعون، بنیامین، ملوک، شمریا. | 31 |
And of the sons of Charim: Eli'ezer, Yishiyah, Malkiyah, Shema'yah, Shim'on,
| 32 |
Benjamin, Malluch, and Shemaryah.
| از طایفهٔ حاشوم: متنای، متاته، زاباد، الیفلط، یریمای، منسی، شمعی. | 33 |
Of the sons of Chashum: Matthenai, Matthathah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Menasseh, and Shim'i.
| از طایفۀ بانی: معدای، عمرام، اوئیل، بنایا، بیدیا، کلوهی، ونیا، مریموت، الیاشیب، متنیا، متنای، یعسو. | 34 |
Of the sons of Bani: Ma'adai, 'Amram, and Uel,
| 35 |
Benayah, Bedeyah, Keluhu,
| 36 |
Vanyah, Meremoth, Elyashib,
| 37 |
Matthanyah, Matthenai, and Ja'assai,
| از طایفهٔ بنوی: شمعی، شلمیا، ناتان، عدایا، مکندبای، شاشای، شارای، عزرئیل، شلمیا، شمریا، شلوم، امریا، یوسف. | 38 |
And Bani, and Binnui, and Shim'i,
| 39 |
And Shelemyah, and Nathan, and 'Adayah,
| 40 |
Machnadbai, Shashai, Sharai,
| 41 |
'Asar'el, and Shelemyahu, Shemaryah,
| 42 |
Shallum, Amaryah, and Joseph.
| از طایفۀ نبو: یعی‌ئیل، مَتّیتیا، زاباد، زبینا، یدو، یوئیل، بنایا. | 43 |
Of the sons of Nebo: Je'iel, Matthithyah, Zabad, Zebina, Jaddai, and Joel, Benayah.
| همهٔ این مردان، زنان بیگانه گرفته بودند و بعضی از ایشان از این زنان صاحب فرزندانی شده بودند. | 44 |
All these had taken strange wives; and some of them had wives by whom they had children.
