حِزِقیال 11

1 سپس روح خدا مرا برداشت و به دروازهٔ شرقی خانهٔ خداوند آورد. در آنجا بیست و پنج نفر از رهبران قوم، از جمله یازَنیا (پسر عَزور) و فِلَطیا (پسر بِنایا) را دیدم.

And a spirit bore me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the house of the Lord, which looketh eastward: and behold, there were at the entrance of the gate five and twenty men; and I saw in the midst of them Yaazanyah the son of 'Azzur, and Pelatyahu the son of Benayahu, princes of the people.

2 آنگاه خدا به من گفت: «ای پسر انسان، اینها هستند که در این شهر مشورتهای گمراه کننده به مردم می‌دهند.

Then said he unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise wickedness, and give evil counsel in this city;

3 و می‌گویند:”وقت آن رسیده که اورشلیم را بازسازی کنیم تا مثل یک سپر آهنی، ما را در برابر هر گزندی حفظ کند.“

Who say, [The evil] is not near; so let us build houses: this [city] is the pot, and we are the flesh.

4 پس ای پسر انسان، سخنان مرا به ایشان اعلام نما!»

Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man.

5 سپس روح خداوند بر من قرار گرفت و فرمود که این پیغام را به مردم بدهم: «ای مردم اسرائیل، من می‌دانم شما چه می‌گویید و می‌دانم در فکرتان چه می‌گذرد!

And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak, Thus hath said the Lord, Thus have ye said, O house of Israel; and whatever cometh into your mind, do I know full well.

6 دستهای شما به خون بسیاری آلوده است و کوچه‌هایتان پر از اجساد کشته‌هاست.

Ye have multiplied those slain by you in this city, and ye have filled its streets with the slain.

7 شما می‌گویید که این شهر، یک سپر آهنی است، ولی چنین نخواهد بود. شهر از کشته‌ها پر خواهد شد و زنده‌ها را نیز بیرون خواهم کشید و به دم شمشیر خواهم سپرد.

Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Those slain by you whom ye have struck down in the midst of it, —they are the flesh, and this place is the pot; but you are to be removed out of the midst of it.

8 آیا از شمشیر می‌ترسید؟ پس شمشیر را به سراغتان خواهم فرستاد.

The sword have ye feared: and the sword will I bring over you, saith the Lord Eternal.

9 شما را از شهر بیرون خواهم کشید و به دست بیگانه‌ها خواهم سپرد تا به سزای اعمالتان برسید.

And I will remove you out of the midst of it, and I will give you up into the hand of strangers, and will execute punishments among you.

10 مجازات من در تمام نقاط سرزمین‌تان، گریبانتان را خواهد گرفت و کشته خواهید شد. آنگاه خواهید دانست که من یهوه هستم.

By the sword shall ye fall; on the boundary of Israel will I judge you: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

11 یقین بدانید که این شهر برای شما سپر آهنی و جای امنی نخواهد بود. در هر جای سرزمین اسرائیل که باشید، شما را مجازات خواهم نمود.

This place shall not be unto you as a pot, so that you should be as flesh in the midst of it; but on the boundary of Israel will I judge you.

12 آنگاه شما که به جای اطاعت از من، از روش اقوام بت‌پرست اطرافتان سرمشق می‌گیرید، خواهید دانست که من یهوه هستم.»

And ye shall know that I am the Lord: because in my statutes have ye not walked, and my ordinances have ye not executed; but ye have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you.

13 هنگامی که این پیغام را به ایشان اعلام می‌کردم، ناگهان فلطیا افتاد و مرد. آنگاه رو به خاک افتادم و فریاد زدم: «آه ای خداوند یهوه، آیا می‌خواهی تمام بازماندگان اسرائیل را هلاک سازی؟»

And it came to pass, as I was prophesying, that Pelatyahu the son of Benayah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord Eternal! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?

14 بار دیگر خداوند سخن گفت و فرمود:

Then came the word of the Lord unto me, saying,

15 «ای پسر انسان، آنانی که در اورشلیم باقی مانده‌اند، دربارهٔ هموطنان تبعیدی تو می‌گویند:”خداوند آنها را تبعید کرد، چون دلشان از او دور بود. بنابراین، زمینهای ایشان را به ما داده است.“

Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and the whole house of Israel altogether, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Remain you far from the Lord: unto us is this land given for a possession.

16 «ولی تو به تبعیدی‌ها بگو که هر چند ایشان را در سرزمینهای مختلف پراکنده ساخته‌ام، اما تا وقتی که در آنجا هستند، من پناهگاه مقدّس ایشان خواهم بود.

Therefore say, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Although I have removed them far away among the nations, and although I have scattered them among the countries: yet will I be to them as a minor sanctuary in the countries whither they are come.

17 ایشان را از هر جایی که پراکنده کرده‌ام، گرد خواهم آورد و سرزمین اسرائیل را بار دیگر به آنها خواهم بخشید.

Therefore say, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, I will both gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries whether ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.

18 هنگامی که به آنجا بازگردند، تمام آثار بت‌پرستی را از میان خواهند برد.

And they shall come thither, and they shall remove all its detestable things, and all its abominations out of it.

19 به ایشان دل و روحی تازه خواهم داد. دل سنگی را از ایشان گرفته، دلی نرم و مطیع به آنان عطا خواهم کرد،

And I will give them one single heart, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will remove the heart of stone out of their body, and I will give unto them a heart of flesh:

20 تا احکام و دستورهای مرا اطاعت کنند. آنگاه آنان قوم من خواهند بود و من خدای ایشان.

In order that they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them; and they shall be unto me for a people, and I will indeed be unto them for a God.

21 اما آنانی را که در اورشلیم در پی بت‌پرستی هستند، به سزای اعمالشان خواهم رسانید.» خداوند یهوه این را می‌گوید.

But as for those whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, their way do I bring upon their own head, saith the Lord Eternal.

22 آنگاه کروبیانی که آن چرخها در کنارشان دیده می‌شد، بالهای خود را گشودند. حضور پرجلال خدای اسرائیل نیز بالای ایشان قرار داشت.

Then did the cherubim lift up their wings, and the wheels at the same time with them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.

23 سپس حضور پرجلال خداوند از میان شهر برخاست و روی کوهی که در شرق شهر بود، قرار گرفت.

And the glory of the Lord ascended from the midst of the city, and halted upon the mount which is on the east side of the city.

24 پس از آن، روح خدا مرا به بابِل نزد یهودیان تبعیدی بازگرداند. به این ترتیب رؤیای سفر من به اورشلیم پایان یافت،

But a spirit bore me up, and brought me into Chaldea, to those in exile, in the appearance through the spirit of God: and then ascended away from me the appearance which I had seen.

25 و من هر چه را که خداوند نشان داده بود، برای تبعیدی‌ها بازگو کردم.

Then did I speak unto those in exile all the things that the Lord had shown me.
