تثنیه 6

1 یهوه، خدایتان به من فرمود که تمامی این فرمانها و فرایض و قوانین را به شما تعلیم دهم تا در سرزمینی که به‌زودی وارد آن می‌شوید، آنها را بجا آورید،

These ben the comaundementis, and cerymonyes, and domes, whiche youre Lord God comaundide that Y schulde teche you, and that ye do tho in the lond to which ye passen ouer to welde;

2 و بدین ترتیب شما و پسران و نوادگانتان یهوه، خدایتان را با اطاعت از تمامی فرایض و فرمانهای او در تمام طول زندگی خود احترام کنید تا عمر طولانی داشته باشید.

that thou drede thi Lord God, and kepe alle hise comaundementis, and heestis, whiche Y comaunde to thee, and to thi sones, and sones of sones, in alle the daies of thi lijf, that thi daies be lengthid.

3 بنابراین ای اسرائیل به هر یک از فرامین به دقت گوش کنید و مواظب باشید آنها را اطاعت کنید تا زندگی پربرکتی داشته باشید. اگر این دستورها را بجا آورید در سرزمین حاصلخیزی که در آن شیر و عسل جاری است همچنانکه خداوند، خدای پدرانتان به شما وعده فرمود، قوم بزرگی خواهید شد.

Thou Israel, here, and kepe, that thou do tho thingis whiche the Lord comaundide to thee, and that it be wel to thee, and thou be multiplied more, as the Lord God of thi fadris bihiyte, to yyue to thee a lond flowynge with mylk and hony.

4 بشنو، ای اسرائیل، یهوه خدای ما، خداوندِ یکتاست.

Thou Israel, here, thi Lord God is o God.

5 یهوه خدای خود را با تمامی دل و با تمامی جان و با تمامی قوّت خود دوست بدار.

Thou schalt loue thi Lord God of al thin herte, and of al thi soule, and of al thi strengthe.

6 این قوانینی که امروز به شما می‌دهم باید دائم در فکر و دلتان باشد.

And these wordis whiche Y comaunde to thee to dai, schulen be in thin herte;

7 آنها را به فرزندان خود بیاموزید و همیشه دربارهٔ آنها صحبت کنید خواه در خانه باشید خواه در بیرون، خواه هنگام خواب باشد خواه اول صبح.

and thou schalt telle tho to thi sones, and thou schalt thenke on tho, sittynge in thin hows, and goynge in the weie, slepynge, and rysinge.

8 آنها را همچون نشان روی انگشت و پیشانی خود ببندید؛

And thou schalt bynde tho as a signe in thin hond; and tho schulen be, and schulen be moued bifor thin iyen; and thou schalt write tho in the lyntel,

9 آنها را بر سر در منازل خود و بر دروازه‌هایتان بنویسید.

and in the doris of thin hows.

10 وقتی که خداوند، خدایتان شما را به سرزمینی که با سوگند به پدرانتان ابراهیم و اسحاق و یعقوب وعده داده است برساند یعنی به شهرهای بزرگ و زیبایی که شما بنا نکرده‌اید و خانه‌هایی پر از چیزهای خوب که شما آنها را تهیه نکرده‌اید، چاههایی که شما نکنده‌اید، تاکستانها و درختان زیتونی که شما نکاشته‌اید، آنگاه وقتی که خوردید و سیر شدید مواظب باشید خداوند را که شما را از سرزمین بندگی مصر بیرون آورد فراموش نکنید.

And whanne thi Lord God hath brouyt thee in to the lond, for which he swoor to thi fadris, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and hath youe to thee grete citees, and beeste, whiche thou bildidist not,

housis fulle of alle richessis, whiche thou madist not, and cisternes, which thou diggedist not, `places of vynes, and `places of olyues, whiche thou plauntidist not,

12

and thou hast ete, and art fillid,

13 از خداوند، خدایتان بترسید، او را عبادت کنید و تنها به نام او قسم بخورید.

be war diligentli, lest thou foryete the Lord, that ladde thee out of the lond of Egipt, fro the hows of seruage. Thou schalt drede thi Lord God, and thou schalt serue hym aloone, `bi seruyce due to God onely, and thou schalt swere bi his name.

14 خدایان قومهای همسایه را پرستش نکنید؛

Ye schulen not go aftir alien goddis, of alle hethen men that ben `in youre cumpas;

15 زیرا خداوند، خدایتان که در میان شما زندگی می‌کند خدای غیوری است و ممکن است خشم او بر شما افروخته شده، شما را از روی زمین نابود کند.

for God is a feruent louyere, thi Lord God is in the myddis of thee, lest ony tyme the `strong veniaunce of thi Lord God be wrooth ayens thee, and do awei thee fro `the face of the erthe.

16 یهوه، خدای خود را آزمایش نکنید، چنانکه در مَسّا این کار را کردید.

Thou schalt not tempte thi Lord God, as thou temptidist in the place of temptyng.

17 فرمانهای یهوه خدای خود، یعنی همۀ قوانین و فرایض او را نگاه دارید.

Kepe thou the comaundementis of thi Lord God, and the witnessyngis, and cerymonyes, whiche he comaundide to thee;

18 آنچه را که خداوند می‌پسندد انجام دهید تا زندگیتان پربرکت شود و به سرزمین حاصلخیزی که خداوند به پدرانتان وعده داده، وارد شوید و آن را تصرف کنید

and do thou that that is plesaunt and good in the siyt of the Lord, that it be wel to thee, and that thou entre, and welde the beste lond, of which the Lord swoor to thi fadris,

19 و تمام دشمنان را به کمک خداوند بیرون رانید، همان‌طور که خداوند به شما وعده داده است.

that he schulde do awey alle thin enemyes bifor thee, as he spak.

20 در سالهای آینده، زمانی که پسرانتان از شما بپرسند: «منظور از این قوانین، فرایض و مقرراتی که خداوند، خدایمان به ما داده است چیست؟»

And whanne thi sone schal axe thee to morewe, that is, in tyme comyng, and schal seie, What wolen these witnessyngis, and cerymonyes, and domes to hem silf, whiche oure Lord God comaundide to vs?

21 به ایشان بگویید: «ما بردگان فرعون مصر بودیم و خداوند با قدرت عظیمش

thou schalt seie to hym, We weren `seruauntis of Farao in Egipt, and the Lord ledde vs out of Egipt, in strong hond;

22 و با معجزات بزرگ و بلاهای وحشتناکی که بر مصر و فرعون و تمام افرادش نازل کرد ما را از سرزمین مصر بیرون آورد. ما همهٔ این کارها را با چشمان خود دیدیم.

and he dide myraclis, and grete wondris, and werste, `that is, moost peyneful veniaunces, in Egipt, ayens Farao and al his hows, in oure siyt.

23 او ما را از زمین مصر بیرون آورد تا بتواند این سرزمین را که با سوگند به پدرانمان وعده داده بود به ما بدهد.

And he ledde vs out therof, that he schulde yyue to vs led yn, the lond of which he swoor to oure fadris.

24 او به ما امر فرموده است که تمامی این قوانین را اطاعت کرده، به یهوه خدایمان احترام بگذاریم. اگر چنین کنیم او ما را برکت می‌دهد و زنده نگه می‌دارد، چنانکه تا امروز کرده است.

And the Lord comaundide to vs, that we do alle these lawful thingis, and drede oure Lord God, that it be wel to vs in alle the daies of oure lijf, as it is to dai.

25 اگر هر چه را یهوه خدایمان فرموده است با اطاعت کامل انجام دهیم، او ما را عادل خواهد شمرد.»

And he schal be merciful to vs, if we schulen do and kepe alle hise heestis, bifor oure Lord God, as he comaundide to vs.
