کولسیان 1

1 این نامه از طرف پولس است که به ارادۀ خدا، رسول مسیحْ عیسی می‌باشد، و از طرف برادر ما تیموتائوس.

Paul, an Apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God--and Timothy our brother:

2 این نامه را به قوم مقدّس خدا در شهر کولسی که برادران و خواهران وفادار در مسیح هستند، می‌نویسیم. از خدا، پدر ما، خواستار فیض و آرامش برای شما هستیم.

To the people of God and the believing brethren at Colossae who are in Christ. May grace and peace be granted to you from God our Father.

3 هرگاه برای شما دعا می‌کنیم، ابتدا خدا را که پدر خداوند ما عیسی مسیح است، برای وجود شما شکر می‌کنیم،

We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, constantly praying for you as we do,

4 زیرا وصف ایمان شما به مسیح عیسی و محبتی را که به همۀ ایمانداران او نشان می‌دهید، شنیده‌ایم.

because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love which you cherish towards all God's people,

5 علّت این ایمان و محبت شما این است که از همان ابتدا که پیغام راستین انجیل را شنیدید، به شادیهای آسمانی دل بستید.

on account of the hope treasured up for you in Heaven. Of this hope you have already heard in the Message of the truth of the Good News.

6 همین پیغام که به شما رسید، به سرتاسر دنیا نیز می‌رسد، و در همه جا با دگرگون ساختن زندگی مردمان، ثمر می‌آوَرَد، همان‌طور که زندگی شما را دگرگون ساخت، از همان روزی که آن را شنیدید و حقیقت را دربارۀ فیض خدا درک کردید.

For it has reached you, and remains with you, just as it has also spread through the whole world, yielding fruit there and increasing, as it has done among you from the day when first you heard it and came really to know the grace of God,

7 خدمتگزار امین عیسی مسیح، یعنی اِپافراس که پیغام انجیل را به شما رساند و اکنون از طرف شما با ما همکار و همخدمت است،

as you learned it from Epaphras our dearly-loved fellow servant. He is to you a faithful minister of Christ in our stead,

8 ما را آگاه ساخت که روح‌القدس چه محبت عمیقی در دل شما نسبت به دیگران قرار داده است.

and moreover he has informed us of your love, which is inspired by the Spirit.

9 بنابراین، از آن روز که این خبر را شنیدیم، دائماً دعا می‌کنیم و از خدا می‌طلبیم که به شما یاری کند تا خواست و ارادهٔ او را دریابید، و به شما حکمت عطا فرماید تا امور روحانی را درک کنید؛

For this reason we also, from the day we first received these tidings, have never ceased to pray for you and to entreat that you may be filled with a clear knowledge of His will accompanied by thorough wisdom and discernment in spiritual things;

10 تا به این ترتیب، رفتاری شایستۀ خداوند و زندگی خداپسندانه‌ای داشته باشید، به گونه‌ای که در هر کار نیک ثمر بیاورید و در شناخت خدا رشد کنید.

so that your lives may be worthy of the Lord and perfectly pleasing to Him, while you exhibit the results of right action of every sort and grow into a fuller knowledge of God.

11 همچنین، دعا می‌کنیم که از قدرت پرجلال خدا لبریز شوید تا صبر و تحمل بسیار داشته باشید و با شادی

Since His power is so glorious, may you be strengthened with strength of every kind, and be prepared for cheerfully enduring all things with patience and long-suffering;

12 همواره پدر آسمانی را سپاس گویید که ما را شایستهٔ آن ساخت تا در میراث قوم خود که در قلمرو نور زندگی می‌کنند، سهیم شویم.

and give thanks to the Father who has made us fit to receive our share of the inheritance of God's people in Light.

13 او ما را از دنیای تاریک شیطان نجات داد و به ملکوت پسر عزیزش منتقل ساخت،

It is God who has delivered us out of the dominion of darkness, and has transferred us into the Kingdom of His dearly-loved Son,

14 همان که از طریق خونش رهایی و آمرزش گناهان را دریافت کردیم.

in whom we have our redemption--the forgiveness of our sins.

15 او چهرهٔ دیدنی خدای نادیدنی و نخست‌زادۀ تمامی آفرینش است.

Christ is the visible representation of the invisible God, the Firstborn and Lord of all creation.

16 در واقع، تمام هستی به‌وسیلۀ عیسی مسیح به وجود آمد، یعنی هر آنچه در آسمان و بر زمین است، دیدنی و نادیدنی؛ عالم روحانی با فرمانروایان و تاج و تخت ایشان، و فرماندهان و بزرگانشان، همه به‌وسیلۀ مسیح و برای جلال او آفریده شدند.

For in Him was created the universe of things in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, thrones, dominions, princedoms, powers--all were created, and exist through and for Him.

17 پیش از آنکه چیزی به وجود آید، او وجود داشت، و قدرت اوست که همه چیز را در عالم هستی در هماهنگی با یکدیگر نگاه می‌دارد.

And HE IS before all things and in and through Him the universe is a harmonious whole.

18 او سرِ بدن است، که همان کلیسا باشد. او سرآغاز است، و نخست‌زادۀ آنانی است که به قیامت از مردگان می‌رسند، تا بدین‌سان، او در همه چیز مُقدّم باشد.

Moreover He is the Head of His Body, the Church. He is the Beginning, the Firstborn from among the dead, in order that He Himself may in all things occupy the foremost place.

19 زیرا خدا اراده فرمود که الوهیت کاملش در وجود پسرش ساکن گردد.

For it was the Father's gracious will that the whole of the divine perfections should dwell in Him.

20 او به‌واسطۀ مسیح، همه چیز را با خود آشتی داد، چه چیزهایی که بر روی زمین‌اند و چه چیزهایی که در آسمان هستند، و با خون او که بر صلیب ریخته شد، صلح و آشتی را فراهم ساخت.

And God purposed through Him to reconcile the universe to Himself, making peace through His blood, which was shed upon the Cross--to reconcile to Himself through Him, I say, things on earth and things in Heaven.

21 این صلح و آشتی شامل حال شما نیز می‌شود، شما که زمانی از خدا دور بودید، و در ذهن خود با او دشمنی می‌کردید، چرا که اعمالتان شریرانه بود.

And you, estranged as you once were and even hostile in your minds, amidst your evil deeds,

22 اما اکنون خدا شما را با خود آشتی داده است. این آشتی از طریق مرگ مسیح، مرگ بدن جسمانی‌اش، امکان‌پذیر شده است. در نتیجهٔ این فداکاری است که مسیح، شما را مقدّس گردانیده و به پیشگاه خدا آورده است. اکنون شما مقدّس و بی‌عیب و بَری از هر محکومیتی در حضور خدا ایستاده‌اید.

He has now, in His human body, reconciled to God by His death, to bring you, holy and faultless and irreproachable, into His presence;

23 اما این به شرطی میسّر می‌گردد که همواره در ایمان به این حقیقت استوار باشید و در آن ثابت‌قدم بمانید، و نگذارید امیدی که در پیام انجیل نهفته است، متزلزل شود. این همان انجیلی است که به گوش شما رسید و اکنون نیز به هر مخلوقی در زیر آسمان اعلان می‌شود، و من پولس، خدمتگزار آن شده‌ام.

if, indeed, you are still firmly holding to faith as your foundation, without ever shifting from your hope that rests on the Good News that you have heard, which has been proclaimed in the whole creation under Heaven, and in which I Paul have been appointed to serve.

24 اکنون رنجی که به خاطر شما متحمل می‌شوم، موجب شادی من است، و من در بدن خود، رنجهایی را که لازمۀ خدمت به مسیح است، به خاطر بدن او، یعنی کلیسا، تکمیل می‌کنم.

Now I can find joy amid my sufferings for you, and I fill up in my own person whatever is lacking in Christ's afflictions on behalf of His Body, the Church.

25 همچنین، من از سوی خدا مأموریت یافته‌ام تا کلیسایش را خدمت کنم و کلام او را در کمالش به شما اعلان نمایم،

I have been appointed to serve the Church in the position of responsibility entrusted to me by God for your benefit, so that I may fully deliver God's Message--

26 یعنی این راز را که طی اعصار و نسلهای متمادی مخفی نگاه داشته شده بود، اما اکنون بر مقدّسین او آشکار گردیده است. (aiōn g165)

the truth which has been kept secret from all ages and generations, but has now been revealed to His people, (aiōn g165)

27 زیرا خدا بر آن شد که ایشان دریابند که غنای پرجلال مسیح برای شما غیریهودیان نیز هست. و آن راز این است: «مسیح در وجود شما، امید پرشکوه شماست!»

to whom it was His will to make known how vast a wealth of glory for the Gentile world is implied in this truth--the truth that 'Christ is in you, the hope of glory.'

28 پس کسی را که درباره‌اش موعظه می‌کنیم، مسیح است، و به هر کس هشدار می‌دهیم و به او به کمک تمام حکمتی که خدا به ما داده، تعلیم می‌دهیم تا بتوانیم هر کس را در مسیحْ عیسی به بلوغ روحانی کامل برسانیم و به حضور خدا تقدیم کنیم.

Him we preach, admonishing every one and instructing every one, with all possible wisdom, so that we may bring every one into God's presence, made perfect through Christ.

29 کار من همین است و در این راه زحمت می‌کشم، و با تمام نیرویی که مسیح عطا می‌کند، در این زمینه تلاش و کوشش می‌کنم.

To this end, like an earnest wrestler, I exert all my strength in reliance upon the power of Him who is mightily at work within me.
