دوم پادشاهان 17

1 در سال دوازدهم سلطنت آحاز، پادشاه یهودا، هوشع (پسر ایلا) پادشاه اسرائیل شد و نه سال در سامره سلطنت نمود.

In the twelft yeere of Ahaz King of Iudah began Hoshea the sonne of Elah to reigne in Samaria ouer Israel, and reigned nine yeeres.

2 او نسبت به خداوند گناه ورزید، اما نه به اندازهٔ پادشاهانی که قبل از او در اسرائیل سلطنت می‌کردند.

And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, but not as the Kinges of Israel, that were before him.

3 در زمان او شلمناسر، پادشاه آشور به اسرائیل لشکر کشید؛ هوشع تسلیم شلمناسر شد و از آن به بعد هر سال به او باج و خراج می‌پرداخت.

And Shalmaneser king of Asshur came vp against him, and Hoshea became his seruant, and gaue him presents.

4 اما یک سال از پرداخت باج و خراج سر باز زد و قاصدانی به مصر فرستاد تا از «سو» پادشاه آنجا کمک بخواهد. وقتی شلمناسر از این توطئه باخبر شد هوشع را به زنجیر کشیده، به زندان انداخت.

And the King of Asshur founde treason in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So King of Egypt, and brought no present vnto the King of Asshur, as he had done yeerely: therfore the king of Asshur shut him vp, and put him in prison.

5 سپس، شلمناسر سراسر سرزمین اسرائیل را اشغال نمود و سامره پایتخت اسرائیل را به مدت سه سال محاصره کرد.

Then the king of Asshur came vp throughout all the lande, and went against Samaria, and besieged it three yeere.

6 سرانجام در نهمین سال سلطنت هوشع، شلمناسر شهر سامره را گرفت و مردم اسرائیل را اسیر نمود و به آشور برد. او بعضی از اسرا را در شهر حلح، برخی دیگر را در شهر جوزان که کنار رود خابور است، و بقیه را در شهرهای سرزمین ماد سکونت داد.

In the ninth yeere of Hoshea, the King of Asshur tooke Samaria, and caryed Israel away vnto Asshur, and put them in Halah, and in Habor by the riuer of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

7 این بلا از این جهت بر قوم اسرائیل نازل شد که نسبت به خداوند، خدای خود که ایشان را از بندگی در مصر نجات داده بود، گناه کرده بودند. آنها بتها را می‌پرستیدند

For when the children of Israel sinned against the Lord their God, which had brought them out of the land of Egypt, from vnder ye hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and feared other gods,

8 و از رسوم قومهایی که خداوند آنها را از سرزمین کنعان بیرون رانده بود، پیروی می‌کردند و از کارهای پادشاهان اسرائیل سرمشق می‌گرفتند.

And walked according to the facions of the Heathen, whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel, and after the maners of the Kings of Israel, which they vsed,

9 بنی‌اسرائیل مخفیانه نسبت به خداوند گناه ورزیده بودند. آنها در هر گوشه و کنار اسرائیل بتخانه‌ای ساخته بودند.

And the children of Israel had done secretly things that were not vpright before the Lord their God, and throughout all their cities had built hie places, both from the tower of the watch, to the defensed citie,

10 روی هر تپه‌ای و زیر هر درخت سبزی مجسمه و بت گذاشته بودند

And had made them images and groues vpon euery hie hill, and vnder euery greene tree,

11 و برای بتهای قومهایی که خداوند ایشان را بیرون رانده و سرزمینشان را به قوم اسرائیل داده بود، بخور می‌سوزاندند. آنها با اعمال زشت خود خشم خداوند را برانگیختند

And there burnt incense in all the hie places, as did the heathen, whom the Lord had taken away before them, and wrought wicked things to anger the Lord,

12 و از کلام خداوند که به آنها دستور داده بود که بتها را نپرستند، اطاعت نکردند.

And serued idoles: whereof the Lord had sayd vnto them, Ye shall do no such thing,

13 خداوند پیامبران را یکی پس از دیگری فرستاد تا به اسرائیل و یهودا بگویند: «از راههای بد خود برگردید و دستورهای خداوند را که انبیا به اجداد شما داده‌اند، اطاعت کنید.»

Notwithstanding the Lord testified to Israel, and to Iudah by all the Prophets, and by all the Seers, saying, Turne from your euill wayes, and keepe my commandements and my statutes, according to all the Lawe, which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my seruants the Prophets.

14 ولی آنها نه فقط اطاعت نمی‌کردند بلکه مانند اجدادشان که به خداوند، خدای خود ایمان نداشتند، یاغی بودند.

Neuerthelesse they would not obey, but hardened their neckes, like to the neckes of their fathers, that did not beleeue in the Lord their God.

15 آنها از دستورهای خدا سرپیچی کردند، عهد او را که با اجدادشان بسته بود، شکستند و به هشدارهای او توجه ننمودند و برخلاف اوامر خداوند، از روی حماقت، بتهای اقوام همسایه را عبادت کردند.

And they refused his statutes and his couenant, that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies (wherewith he witnessed vnto them) and they followed vanitie, and became vaine, and followed the heathen that were round about them: concerning whome the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them.

16 آنها از تمام دستورهای خداوند، خدای خود سرپیچی نمودند و دو بت گوساله شکل از طلا و بتهای شرم‌آور دیگر ساختند. بت بعل را پرستش کردند و در مقابل آفتاب و ماه و ستارگان سجده نمودند.

Finally they left all the commandements of the Lord their God, and made them molten images, euen two calues, and made a groue, and worshipped all the hoste of heauen, and serued Baal.

17 بر آتش بتکده‌ها، دختران و پسران خود را قربانی کردند. از فالگیران راهنمایی خواستند، جادوگری کردند و خود را به گناه فروختند. از این رو خداوند بسیار خشمگین شد و آنها را از حضور خود دور انداخت؛ فقط قبیلهٔ یهودا باقی ماند.

And they made their sonnes and their daughters passe thorowe the fire, and vsed witchcraft and inchantments, yea, solde them selues to doe euill in the sight of the Lord, to anger him.

Therefore the Lord was exceeding wroth with Israel, and put them out of his sight, and none was left but the tribe of Iudah onely.

19 اما یهودا نیز دستورهای خداوند، خدای خود را اطاعت نکرد و به همان راههای بدی رفت که اسرائیل رفته بود.

Yet Iudah kept not the commandements of the Lord their God, but walked according to the facion of Israel, which they vsed.

20 پس خداوند از تمام بنی‌اسرائیل دل کند و آنها را به دست دشمن سپرد تا نابود شوند و به سزای اعمال خود برسند.

Therefore the Lord cast off all the seede of Israel, and afflicted them, and deliuered them into the handes of spoylers, vntill he had cast them out of his sight.

21 وقتی خداوند اسرائیل را از خاندان داوود جدا کرد، مردم اسرائیل یربعام (پسر نباط) را به پادشاهی خود انتخاب کردند. یربعام هم اسرائیل را از پیروی خداوند منحرف کرده، آنها را به گناه بزرگی کشاند.

For he cut off Israel from the house of Dauid, and they made Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat King: and Ieroboam drewe Israel away from following the Lord, and made them sinne a great sinne.

22 اسرائیل از گناهانی که یربعام ایشان را بدان آلوده کرده بود، دست برنداشتند،

For the children of Israel walked in all the sinnes of Ieroboam, which he did, and departed not therefrom,

23 تا اینکه خداوند همان‌طور که به‌وسیلۀ تمام انبیا خبر داده بود، آنها را از حضور خود دور انداخت. بنابراین مردم اسرائیل به سرزمین آشور تبعید شدند و تا به امروز در آنجا به سر می‌برند.

Vntill the Lord put Israel away out of his sight, as he had said by all his seruants the Prophets, and caryed Israel away out of their land to Asshur vnto this day.

24 پادشاه آشور مردمی از بابِل، کوت، عوا، حمات، سفروایم آورد و آنها را به جای تبعیدی‌های اسرائیلی در شهرهای اسرائیل سکونت داد و آنها سامره و سایر شهرهای اسرائیل را اشغال کردند.

And the King of Asshur brought folke from Babel, and from Cuthah, and from Aua, and from Hamath, and from Sepharuaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria in steade of the children of Israel: so they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.

25 ولی این مردم در ابتدای ورود به سرزمین اسرائیل، خداوند را عبادت نمی‌کردند؛ پس خداوند شیرهایی به میان آنها فرستاد که بعضی از ایشان را دریدند.

And at the beginning of their dwelling there, they feared not the Lord: therefore the Lord sent lions among them, which slewe them.

26 به پادشاه آشور خبر رسید که چون ساکنان جدیدِ سرزمین اسرائیل با قوانین خدای آن سرزمین آشنا نیستند، او شیرهایی را به میان آنها فرستاده است تا بدین وسیله آنها را نابود کند.

Wherefore they spake to the King of Asshur, saying, The nations which thou hast remoued, and placed in the cities of Samaria, knowe not the maner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and behold, they slay them, because they knowe not the maner of the God of the land.

27 پادشاه چنین دستور داد: «یکی از کاهنان تبعیدی سامره به اسرائیل بازگردد و قوانین خدای آن سرزمین را به مردمان تازه وارد آنجا یاد دهد.»

Then the King of Asshur commanded, saying, Carie thither one of the Priestes whome ye brought thence, and let him goe and dwell there, and teache them the maner of the God of the countrey.

28 پس یکی از کاهنان اسرائیلی که از سامره تبعید شده بود به بیت‌ئیل بازگشت و به مردم آنجا یاد داد چگونه خداوند را عبادت کنند.

So one of the Priestes, which they had caryed from Samaria, came and dwelt in Beth-el, and taught them how they shoulde feare the Lord.

29 ولی هر یک از این طوایف بیگانه به پرستش بت خود ادامه دادند. آنها بتهای خود را در معابد بالای تپه‌ها که اسرائیلی‌ها ساخته بودند و در نزدیکی شهرهایشان بود، گذاشتند.

Howbeit euery nation made their gods, and put them in the houses of the hie places, which the Samaritanes had made, euery nation in their cities, wherein they dwelt.

30 مردمی که از بابِل بودند، بُت سُکّوت‌بِنوت را عبادت می‌کردند. آنانی که از کوت بودند، بت نرجل را و اهالی حمات، بت اشیما را می‌پرستیدند.

For the men of Babel made Succoth-Benoth: and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,

31 پرستندگان بتهای نبحز و ترتاک کسانی بودند که از عوا و سفروایم آمده بودند که حتی فرزندان خود را بر بالای مذبحها برای بتهای ادرملک و عنملک می‌سوزاندند.

And the Auims made Nibhaz, and Tartak: and the Sepharuims burnt their children in the fire to Adrammelech, and Anammelech the gods of Sepharuaim.

32 این مردم در ضمن، خداوند را هم عبادت می‌کردند و از میان خود کاهنانی را انتخاب کردند تا روی مذبحهای بالای تپه‌ها برای خداوند قربانی کنند.

Thus they feared the Lord, and appoynted out Priestes out of them selues for the hie places, who prepared for them sacrifices in the houses of the hie places.

33 به این ترتیب هم خداوند را می‌پرستیدند و هم طبق آداب و رسوم کشور خودشان بتهای خود را پرستش می‌کردند.

They feared the Lord, but serued their gods after the maner of the nations whome they caryed thence.

34 آنها تا به امروز هم به جای اینکه خداوند را عبادت نمایند و مطیع احکام و دستورهایی باشند که او به فرزندان یعقوب (که خداوند بعد اسمش را اسرائیل گذاشت) داد، مطابق آداب و رسوم گذشتهٔ خود رفتار می‌کنند.

Vnto this day they doe after the olde maner: they neyther feare God, neyther doe after their ordinances, nor after their customes, nor after the Lawe, nor after the commandement, which the Lord commanded the children of Iaakob, whom he named Israel,

35 خداوند با قوم اسرائیل عهد بسته، به آنها دستور داده بود که بتهای اقوام خدانشناس را عبادت نکنند، آنها را سجده و پرستش ننمایند و به آنها قربانی تقدیم نکنند،

And with whom the Lord had made a couenant, and charged them, saying, Feare none other gods, nor bowe your selues to them, nor serue them, nor sacrifice to them:

36 بلکه فقط خداوند را عبادت کنند و او را سجده نمایند و به او قربانی تقدیم کنند، زیرا او بود که با معجزات و قدرت شگفت‌انگیز، آنها را از مصر بیرون آورد.

But feare the Lord which brought you out of the land of Egypt with great power, and a stretched out arme: him feare ye, and worshippe him, and sacrifice to him.

37 پس آنها می‌بایست همواره تمام احکام و دستورهای خداوند را اطاعت کنند و هرگز بت نپرستند.

Also keepe ye diligently the statutes and the ordinances, and the Lawe, and the commandement, which he wrote for you, that ye do them continually, and feare not other gods.

38 زیرا خداوند فرموده بود: «عهدی را که با شما بستم هرگز فراموش نکنید و بتها را نپرستید.

And forget not the couenant that I haue made with you, neither feare ye other gods,

39 فقط یهوه خدای خود را عبادت کنید و من شما را از چنگ دشمنانتان نجات خواهم داد.»

But feare the Lord your God, and he will deliuer you out of the handes of all your enemies.

40 ولی این قومها توجهی به این احکام ننمودند و به پرستش بت ادامه دادند. آنها خداوند را عبادت می‌کردند و در ضمن از بت‌پرستی دست نکشیدند و فرزندان آنها نیز تا به امروز به همان شکل عمل می‌کنند.

Howbeit they obeyed not, but did after their olde custome.

41

So these nations feared the Lord, and serued their images also: so did their children, and their childrens children: as did their fathers, so do they vnto this day.
