دوم تواریخ 4

1 سلیمان پادشاه یک مذبح مفرغین ساخت به طول بیست ذراع، عرض بیست ذراع و بلندی ده ذراع.

And he made a brazen altar, the length of it twenty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits, and the height ten cubits.

2 سپس یک حوض گرد از مفرغ درست کرد که عمق آن پنج ذراع، قطرش ده ذراع و محیطش سی ذراع بود.

And he made the molten sea, in diameter ten cubits, entirely round, and the height of it five cubits, and the circumference thirty cubits.

3 بر کناره‌های لبهٔ حوض دو ردیف نقشهایی به شکل گاو (در هر ذراع ده نقش) قرار داشتند. این نقشها با خود حوض قالبگیری شده بود.

And beneath it the likeness of calves, they compass it round about: ten cubits compass the laver round about, they cast the calves two rows in their casting,

4 این حوض بر پشت دوازده مجسمهٔ گاو قرار داشت. سر گاوها به طرف بیرون بود: سه گاو رو به شمال، سه گاو رو به جنوب، سه گاو رو به مغرب و سه گاو رو به مشرق.

wherein they made them twelve calves, —three looking northwards, and three westwards, and three southwards, and three eastwards: and the sea was upon them above, [and] their hinder parts were inward.

5 ضخامت دیوارهٔ حوض به پهنای کف دست بود. لبهٔ آن به شکل جام بود و مانند گلبرگ سوسن به طرف بیرون باز می‌شد. گنجایش آن بیش از شصت هزار لیتر بود.

And its thickness was a hand-breadth, and its brim as the brim of a cup, graven with flowers of lilies, holding three thousand measures: and he finished [it].

6 ده حوضچه نیز ساخته شد پنج عدد در طرف شمال خانهٔ خدا و پنج عدد در طرف جنوب آن. از آب این حوضچه‌ها برای شستن قطعه‌های بدن حیوان قربانی که می‌بایست روی مذبح سوزانده شود استفاده می‌شد. کاهنان برای شستن خود از آب حوضچه‌ها استفاده نمی‌کردند، بلکه با آب حوض خود را می‌شستند.

And he made ten lavers, and set five on the right hand, and five on the left, to wash in them the instruments of the whole burnt offerings, and to rinse [the vessels] in them; and the sea [was] for the priests to wash in.

7 ده چراغدان طلا مطابق طرح، ساخته شد و در خانهٔ خدا قرار گرفت. چراغدانها را در دو دستهٔ پنج‌تایی روبروی هم، به طرف شمال و جنوب، نهادند.

And he made the ten golden candlesticks according to their pattern, and he put them in the temple, five on the right hand, and five on the left.

8 همچنین ده میز ساختند و پنج عدد از آنها را در طرف شمال و پنج عدد دیگر را در سمت جنوب خانهٔ خدا قرار دادند. صد کاسهٔ طلا نیز درست کردند.

And he made ten tables, and put them in the temple, five on the right hand, and five on the left: and he made a hundred golden bowls.

9 سپس یک حیاط داخلی برای کاهنان و یک حیاط بیرونی ساخته شد و درهای بین آنها را با مفرغ پوشانیدند.

Also he made the priests' court, and the great court, and doors to the court, and their panels [were] overlaid with brass.

10 حوض در گوشهٔ جنوب شرقی خانهٔ خدا بود.

And he set the sea at the corner of the house on the right, as it were fronting the east.

11 حورام سطلها، خاک‌اندازها و کاسه‌های مربوط به قربانیها را هم ساخت. سرانجام حورام این کارهای مربوط به خانهٔ خدا را که سلیمان پادشاه برای او تعیین کرده بود، به پایان رسانید. اشیایی که او ساخت عبارت بودند از:

And Chiram made the flesh hooks, and the fire-pans, and the grate of the altar, and all its instruments: and Chiram finished doing all the work which he wrought for king Solomon in the house of God:

12 دو ستون، دو سر ستون کاسه مانند برای ستونها، دو رشته زنجیر روی سر ستونها، چهارصد انار مفرغین برای دو رشته زنجیر (یعنی برای هر رشته زنجیر سر ستون، دویست انار که در دو ردیف قرار داشتند)، میزها و حوضچه‌های روی آنها، حوض بزرگ با دوازده گاو مفرغین زیر آن، سطلها، خاک‌اندازها و چنگکهای مخصوصِ آویزان کردن گوشت قربانیها. حورام، این صنعتگر ماهر، تمام اشیاء خانهٔ خداوند را از مفرغ صیقلی برای سلیمان پادشاه ساخت.

two pillars, and upon them an embossed work for the chapiters on the heads of the two pillars, and two nets to cover the heads of the chapiters which are on the heads of the pillars;

and four hundred golden bells for the two nets, and two rows of pomegranates in each net, to cover the two embossed rims of the chapiters which are upon the pillars.

And he made the ten bases, and he made the lavers upon the bases;

and the one sea, and the twelve calves under it;

and the foot-baths, and the buckets, and the caldrons, and the flesh hooks, and all their furniture (which Chiram made, and brought to king Solomon in the house of the Lord) of pure brass.

17 به دستور سلیمان این اشیاء در دشت اردن که بین سوکوت و صرده قرار داشت قالبریزی شده بود.

In the country round about Jordan the king cast them, in the clay ground in the house of Socchoth, and between [that and] Saredatha.

18 مقدار مفرغین که استعمال شد، بی‌اندازه زیاد بود و نمی‌شد آن را وزن کرد!

So Solomon made all these vessels in great abundance, for the quantity of brass failed not.

19 در ضمن به دستور سلیمان وسایلی از طلای خالص برای خانهٔ خدا ساخته شد. این وسایل عبارت بودند از: مذبح، میز نان حضور،

And Solomon made all the vessels of the house of the Lord, and the golden altar, and the tables, and upon them [were to be] the loaves of show bread;

20 چراغدانها با نقشهای گل و چراغهای روی آنها که مطابق طرح می‌بایست روبروی قدس‌الاقداس قرار می‌گرفت، انبرکها،

also the candlesticks, and the lamps to give light according to the pattern, and in front of the oracle, of pure gold.

And their snuffers, and their lamps [were made], and [he made] the bowls, and the censers, and the fire-pans, of pure gold.

22 انبرها، کاسه‌ها، قاشقها و آتشدانها. در ضمن درهای خانهٔ خدا یعنی درهای اصلی و درهای قدس‌الاقداس نیز از طلای خالص بود.

And [there was] the inner door of the house [opening] into the holy of holies, and [he made] the inner doors of the temple of gold. So all the work which Solomon wrought for the house of the Lord was finished.
