دوم تواریخ 35

1 یوشیای پادشاه دستور داد که عید پِسَح، روز چهاردهم ماه اول برای خداوند در اورشلیم برگزار شود. بره‌های عید پِسَح را همان روز سر بریدند.

Now Josiah kept the Passover to the Lord in Jerusalem, and it was immolated on the fourteenth day of the first month.

2 او همچنین کاهنان را بر سر کارهایشان گماشت و ایشان را تشویق نمود که دوباره خدمت خود را در خانهٔ خداوند شروع کنند.

And he appointed the priests in their offices, and he exhorted them to minister in the house of the Lord.

3 یوشیا به لاویانی که تقدیس شده بودند و در سراسر اسرائیل تعلیم می‌دادند این دستور را داد: «اکنون صندوق عهد در خانه‌ای است که سلیمان، پسر داوود، پادشاه اسرائیل، برای خدا ساخته است و دیگر لازم نیست شما آن را بر دوش خود بگذارید و از جایی به جایی دیگر ببرید، پس وقت خود را صرف خدمت خداوند، خدایتان و قوم او بنمایید.

Also, he spoke with the Levites, by whose instruction all of Israel was sanctified to the Lord, saying: “Place the ark in the sanctuary of the temple, which Solomon, the son of David, the king of Israel, built. For never again shall you carry it. Instead, now you shall minister to the Lord your God, and to his people Israel.

4 مطابق مقرراتی که داوود، پادشاه اسرائیل و پسرش سلیمان وضع نموده‌اند، برای خدمت به دسته‌هایی تقسیم شوید. هر دسته در جای خود در خانۀ خدا بایستد و به یکی از طایفه‌های قوم اسرائیل کمک کند.

And prepare yourselves by your houses and families, within each division, just as David, the king of Israel, instructed, and just as his son Solomon has written.

And minister in the sanctuary, by the Levitical families and companies.

6 بره‌های عید پِسَح را سر ببرید، خود را تقدیس نمایید و آماده شوید تا به قوم خود خدمت کنید. از دستورهای خداوند که به‌وسیلۀ موسی داده شده، پیروی نمایید.»

And having been sanctified, immolate the Passover. And then prepare your brothers, so that they may be able to act in accord with the words which the Lord has spoken by the hand of Moses.”

7 سپس پادشاه سی هزار بره و بزغاله و سه هزار گاو جوان از اموال خود برای قربانی در عید پِسَح به بنی‌اسرائیل داد.

After this, Josiah gave to all the people, those who had been found there at the solemnity of the Passover, thirty thousand lambs and young goats from the flocks, and other kinds of small cattle, and also three thousand oxen. All these were from the substance of the king.

8 مقامات دربار نیز به طور داوطلبانه به قوم و به کاهنان و لاویان هدایایی دادند. حلقیا و زکریا و یحی‌ئیل که ناظران خانهٔ خدا بودند، دو هزار و ششصد بره و بزغاله و سیصد گاو برای قربانی در عید پِسَح به کاهنان دادند.

Also, his rulers offered what they had vowed freely, as much for the people as for the priests and Levites. Moreover, Hilkiah, and Zechariah, and Jehiel, rulers of the house of the Lord, gave to the priests, in order to observe the Passover, two thousand six hundred small cattle, and three hundred oxen.

9 کننیا، شمعیا، نتن‌ئیل و برادران او حشبیا، یعی‌ئیل و یوزاباد که رهبران لاویان بودند پنج هزار بره و بزغاله و پانصد گاو برای قربانی در عید پِسَح به لاویان دادند.

And Conaniah, with Shemaiah and Nethanel, his brothers, indeed also Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, rulers of the Levites, gave to the rest of the Levites, in order to celebrate the Passover, five thousand small cattle, and five hundred oxen.

10 وقتی ترتیبات لازم داده شد و کاهنان در جاهای خود قرار گرفتند و لاویان مطابق دستور پادشاه برای خدمت به گروه‌های مختلف تقسیم شدند،

And the ministry was prepared. And the priests stood in their office, and the Levites also stood in their companies, according to the order of the king.

11 آنگاه لاویان بره‌های عید پِسَح را سر بریده، پوستشان را از گوشت جدا کردند و کاهنان خون آن بره‌ها را روی مذبح پاشیدند.

And the Passover was immolated. And the priests sprinkled the blood with their hand, and the Levites drew away the pelts of the holocausts.

12 آنها قربانیهای سوختنی هر قبیله را جدا کردند تا مطابق نوشتهٔ تورات موسی آنها را به حضور خداوند تقدیم نمایند.

And they put these aside, so that they might give them to each one, by their houses and families, and so that they might be offered to the Lord, just as it was written in the book of Moses. And with the oxen, they acted similarly.

13 سپس طبق مقررات، گوشت بره‌های قربانی را بریان کردند و قربانیهای دیگر را در دیگها و تابه‌ها پختند و به سرعت بین قوم تقسیم کردند تا بخورند.

And they roasted the Passover above fire, in accord with what was written in the law. Yet truly, the victims of peace offerings they boiled in cauldrons and kettles and pots. And they promptly distributed these to all the common people.

14 کاهنان از نسل هارون تا شب مشغول تقدیم قربانیهای سوختنی و سوزاندن چربی قربانیها بودند و فرصت نداشتند برای خود خوراک پِسَح را تهیه کنند؛ پس لاویان، هم برای خود و هم برای کاهنان خوراک پِسَح را تهیه کردند.

Then afterward, they made preparations for themselves and for the priests. Indeed, the priests had been occupied in the oblations of the holocausts and the fat offerings, even until night. Therefore, the Levites made preparations for themselves and for the priests, the sons of Aaron, last.

15 دستهٔ سرایندگان که از نسل آساف بودند به سر کار خود بازگشتند و مطابق دستورهایی که به‌وسیلۀ داوود پادشاه، آساف، هیمان و یِدوتون نبی پادشاه صادر شده بود، عمل کردند. نگهبانان دروازه‌ها پست خود را ترک نکردند زیرا برادران لاوی ایشان برای آنها خوراک آوردند.

Now the singers, the sons of Asaph, were standing in their order, according to the instruction of David, and of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, the prophets of the king. Truly, the porters kept watch at each gate, so as not to depart from their ministry even for one moment. And for this reason, their brothers, the Levites, prepared foods for them.

16 مراسم عید پِسَح در آن روز انجام شد و همهٔ قربانیهای سوختنی، همان‌طور که یوشیا دستور داده بود، بر روی مذبح خداوند تقدیم شد.

And so, the entire worship ritual of the Lord was completed on that day, so that they observed the Passover and offered holocausts upon the altar of the Lord, in accord with the precept of king Josiah.

17 تمام حاضرین، عید پِسَح و عید فطیر را تا هفت روز جشن گرفتند.

And the sons of Israel, who had been found there, kept the Passover at that time, with the solemnity of unleavened bread, for seven days.

18 از زمان سموئیل نبی تا آن زمان هیچ عید پِسَحی مثل عیدی که یوشیا برگزار نمود، برگزار نشده بود و هیچ پادشاهی در اسرائیل نتوانسته بود به این تعداد کاهن و لاوی و شرکت کننده از سراسر یهودا و اورشلیم و اسرائیل در عید پِسَح جمع کند.

There was no Passover similar to this one in Israel, from the days of Samuel the prophet. And neither did anyone, out of all the kings of Israel, keep such a Passover as did Josiah, the priests and Levites, and all those of Judah and Israel who had been found, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

19 این عید پِسَح در سال هجدهم سلطنت یوشیا برگزار شد.

In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah, this Passover was celebrated.

20 هنگامی که یوشیا کارهای مربوط به خانهٔ خدا را به انجام رسانیده بود، نکو، پادشاه مصر، با لشکر خود به کرکمیش واقع در کنار رود فرات آمد و یوشیا به مقابلهٔ او رفت.

After Josiah had repaired the temple, Neco, the king of Egypt, ascended to fight at Carchemish, beside the Euphrates. And Josiah went out to meet him.

21 اما نکو قاصدانی با این پیام نزد یوشیا فرستاد: «ای پادشاه یهودا، من با تو قصد جنگ ندارم، من آمده‌ام با دشمن خود بجنگم، و خدا به من گفته است که بشتابم. در کار خدا مداخله نکن والا تو را از بین خواهد برد، زیرا خدا با من است.»

But he sent messengers to him, saying: “What is there between me and you, O king of Judah? I have not come against you today. Instead, I am fighting against another house, to which God instructed me to go promptly. Refrain from acting against God, who is with me, otherwise he may kill you.”

22 ولی یوشیا از تصمیم خود منصرف نشد، بلکه سپاه خود را به قصد جنگ به درهٔ مجدو هدایت کرد. او لباس شاهانهٔ خود را عوض کرد تا دشمن او را نشناسد. یوشیا به پیام نکو، پادشاه مصر که از جانب خدا بود، توجه نکرد.

Josiah was not willing to return. Instead, he prepared for war against him. Neither would he agree to the words of Neco from the mouth of God. In truth, he traveled so that he might do battle in the field of Megiddo.

23 در جنگ، تیراندازان دشمن با تیرهای خود یوشیا را زدند و او به شدت مجروح شد. یوشیا به افرادش دستور داد که او را از میدان جنگ بیرون ببرند.

And there, having been wounded by archers, he said to his servants: “Lead me away from the battle. For I have been severely wounded.”

24 پس او را از ارابه‌اش پائین آورده، بر ارابهٔ دومش نهادند و به اورشلیم بازگرداندند و او در آنجا درگذشت. وی را در آرامگاه سلطنتی دفن کردند و تمام یهودا و اورشلیم برای او عزا گرفتند.

And they took him from the chariot, into another chariot which was following him, as was the custom of kings. And they transported him to Jerusalem. And he died, and he was buried in the mausoleum of his fathers. And all of Judah and Jerusalem mourned for him,

25 ارمیای نبی برای یوشیا مرثیه‌ای ساخت. خواندن این مرثیه در اسرائیل به صورت رسم درآمد، به طوری که تا به امروز نیز این مرثیه را مردان و زنان به یاد یوشیا می‌خوانند. این مرثیه در کتاب «مراثی» نوشته شده است.

most of all Jeremiah. All the singing men and women repeat his lamentations over Josiah, even to the present day. And this has become like a law in Israel. Behold, it is found written in the Lamentations.

26 شرح کامل رویدادهای دوران سلطنت یوشیا، اعمال خوب او و اطاعتش از کتاب شریعت خداوند در کتاب «تاریخ پادشاهان یهودا و اسرائیل» نوشته شده است.

Now the rest of the words of Josiah, and his mercies, which were instructed by the law of the Lord,

and also his works, the first and the last, have been written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
