اول سموئیل 8
| وقتی سموئیل پیر شد، پسران خود را به عنوان داور بر اسرائیل گماشت. | 1 |
And it came to pass when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.
| نام پسر اول، یوئیل و پسر دوم اَبیّا بود. ایشان در بئرشبع بر مسند داوری نشستند. | 2 |
And these [are] the names of his sons; Joel the firstborn, and the name of the second Abia, judges in Bersabee.
| اما آنها مثل پدر خود رفتار نمی‌کردند بلکه طمعکار بودند و از مردم رشوه می‌گرفتند و در قضاوت، عدالت را رعایت نمی‌کردند. | 3 |
And his sons did not walk in his way; and they turned aside after gain, and took gifts, and perverted judgements.
| بالاخره، رهبران اسرائیل در رامه جمع شدند تا موضوع را با سموئیل در میان بگذارند. | 4 |
And the men of Israel gather themselves together, and come to Armathaim to Samuel,
| آنها به او گفتند: «تو پیر شده‌ای و پسرانت نیز مانند تو رفتار نمی‌کنند. پس برای ما پادشاهی تعیین کن تا بر ما حکومت کند و ما هم مانند سایر قومها پادشاهی داشته باشیم.» | 5 |
and they said to him, Behold, you are grown old, and your sons walk not in your way; and now set over us a king to judge us, as also the other nations [have].
| سموئیل از درخواست آنها بسیار ناراحت شد و برای کسب تکلیف به حضور خداوند رفت. | 6 |
And the thing [was] evil in the eyes of Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us: and Samuel prayed to the Lord.
| خداوند در پاسخ سموئیل فرمود: «طبق درخواست آنها عمل کن، زیرا آنها مرا رد کرده‌اند نه تو را. آنها دیگر نمی‌خواهند من پادشاه ایشان باشم. | 7 |
And the Lord said to Samuel, Hear the voice of the people, in whatever they shall say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from reigning over them.
| از موقعی که ایشان را از مصر بیرون آوردم، پیوسته مرا ترک نموده، به دنبال خدایان دیگر رفته‌اند. الان با تو نیز همان رفتار را پیش گرفته‌اند. | 8 |
According to all their doings which they have done to me, from the day that I brought them out of Egypt until this day, even [as] they have deserted me, and served other gods, so they do also to you.
| هر چه می‌گویند بکن، اما به ایشان هشدار بده که داشتن پادشاه چه عواقبی دارد.» | 9 |
And now listen to their voice; only you shall solemnly testify to them, and you shall describe to them the manner of the king who shall reign over them.
| سموئیل از جانب خداوند به ایشان که از او پادشاه می‌خواستند، چنین گفت: | 10 |
And Samuel spoke every word of the Lord to the people who asked of him a king.
| «اگر می‌خواهید پادشاهی داشته باشید، بدانید که او پسران شما را به خدمت خواهد گرفت تا بعضی بر ارابه‌ها و بعضی بر اسبها او را خدمت کنند و بعضی در جلوی ارابه‌هایش بدوند. | 11 |
And he said, This shall be the manner of the king that shall rule over you: he shall take your sons, and put them in his chariots, and amongst his horsemen, and running before his chariots,
| او بعضی را به فرماندهی سپاه خود خواهد گماشت و بعضی دیگر را به مزارع خود خواهد فرستاد تا زمین را شیار کنند و محصولات او را جمع‌آوری نمایند، و از عده‌ای نیز برای ساختن اسلحه و وسایل ارابه استفاده خواهد کرد. | 12 |
and [his manner shall be] to make them to himself captains of hundreds and captains of thousands; and to reap his harvest, and gather his vintage, and prepare his instruments of war, and the implements of his chariots.
| پادشاه، دختران شما را هم به کار می‌گیرد تا نان بپزند و خوراک تهیه کنند و برایش عطر بسازند. | 13 |
And he will take your daughters to be perfumers, and cooks, and bakers.
| او بهترین مزارع و تاکستانها و باغهای زیتون را از شما خواهد گرفت و به افراد خود خواهد داد. | 14 |
And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your good olive yards, and give them to his servants.
| از شما ده‌یک محصولاتتان را مطالبه خواهد نمود و آن را در میان افراد دربار، تقسیم خواهد کرد. | 15 |
And he will take the tithe of your seeds and your vineyards, and give [it] to his eunuchs, and to his servants.
| غلامان، کنیزان، رمه‌ها و الاغهای شما را گرفته، برای استفادهٔ شخصی خود به کار خواهد برد. | 16 |
And he will take your servants, and your handmaids, and your good herds and your asses, and will take the tenth of them for his works.
| او ده‌یک گله‌های شما را خواهد گرفت و شما بردهٔ وی خواهید شد. | 17 |
And he will tithe your flocks; and you shall be his servants.
| وقتی آن روز برسد، شما از دست پادشاهی که انتخاب کرده‌اید فریاد برخواهید آورد، ولی خداوند به داد شما نخواهد رسید.» | 18 |
And you shall cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen to yourselves, and the Lord shall not hear you in those days, because you have chosen to yourselves a king.
| اما مردم به نصیحت سموئیل گوش ندادند و به اصرار گفتند: «ما پادشاه می‌خواهیم | 19 |
But the people would not listen to Samuel; and they said to him, Nay, but there shall be a king over us.
| تا مانند سایر قومها باشیم. می‌خواهیم او بر ما سلطنت کند و در جنگ ما را رهبری نماید.» | 20 |
An we also will be like all the nations; and our king shall judge us, and shall go out before us, and fight our battles.
| سموئیل آنچه را که مردم گفتند با خداوند در میان گذاشت، | 21 |
And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and spoke them in the ears of the Lord.
| و خداوند بار دیگر پاسخ داد: «هر چه می‌گویند بکن و پادشاهی برای ایشان تعیین نما.» سموئیل موافقت نمود و مردم را به خانه‌هایشان فرستاد. | 22 |
And the Lord said to Samuel, Listen to their voice, and appoint them a king. And Samuel said to the men of Israel, Let each man depart to his city.
