| داوود از نایوت رامه فرار کرد و پیش یوناتان رفت و به او گفت: «مگر من چه گناهی کرده‌ام و چه بدی در حق پدرت انجام داده‌ام که می‌خواهد مرا بکشد؟» | 1 |
Then David fled from the dwellings at Ramah, and came before Jonathan and said, "What have I done? What is my iniquity? What is my sin before your father, that he seeks my life?"
| یوناتان جواب داد: «تو اشتباه می‌کنی. پدرم هرگز چنین قصدی ندارد، چون هر کاری بخواهد بکند، هر چند جزئی باشد، همیشه با من در میان می‌گذارد. اگر او قصد کشتن تو را می‌داشت، به من می‌گفت.» | 2 |
He said to him, "Far from it; you shall not die. Look, my father does nothing either great or small, but that he discloses it to me; and why should my father hide this thing from me? It is not so."
| داوود گفت: «پدرت می‌داند که تو مرا دوست داری، به همین دلیل این موضوع را با تو در میان نگذاشته است تا ناراحت نشوی. به خداوند زنده و به جان تو قسم که من با مرگ یک قدم بیشتر فاصله ندارم.» | 3 |
And David answered and said, "Your father knows well that I have found favor in your eyes; and he says, 'Do not let Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved:' but truly as the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, there is but a step between me and death."
| یوناتان با ناراحتی گفت: «حال می‌گویی من چه کنم؟» | 4 |
Then Jonathan said to David, "Whatever your soul desires, I will do for you."
| داوود پاسخ داد: «فردا جشن اول ماه است و من مثل همیشه در این موقع باید با پدرت سر سفره بنشینم. ولی اجازه بده تا عصر روز سوم، خود را در صحرا پنهان کنم. | 5 |
So David said to Jonathan, "Look, tomorrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit with the king to eat. Instead, let me go so that I may hide myself in the field until evening.
| اگر پدرت سراغ مرا گرفت، بگو که داوود از من اجازه گرفته است تا برای شرکت در مراسم قربانی سالیانهٔ خانوادهٔ خود به بیت‌لحم برود. | 6 |
If your father missed me at all, then say, 'David urgently requested of me that he might run to Bethlehem his city, for it is the yearly sacrifice there for all the family.'
| اگر بگوید: بسیار خوب، آنگاه معلوم می‌شود قصد کشتن مرا ندارد. ولی اگر خشمگین شود، آنگاه می‌فهمیم که نقشه کشیده مرا بکشد. | 7 |
If he says, 'It is well;' your servant shall have peace: but if he be angry, then know that evil is determined by him.
| به خاطر آن عهد دوستی‌ای که در حضور خداوند با هم بستیم، این لطف را در حق من بکن و اگر فکر می‌کنی من مقصرم، خودت مرا بکش، ولی مرا به دست پدرت تسلیم نکن!» | 8 |
Therefore deal kindly with your servant; for you have brought your servant into a covenant of the LORD with you: but if there is iniquity in me, kill me yourself; for why should you bring me to your father?"
| یوناتان جواب داد: «این حرف را نزن! اگر بدانم پدرم قصد کشتن تو را دارد، بدان که به تو اطلاع خواهم داد!» | 9 |
Jonathan said, "Far be it from you; for if I should at all know that evil were determined by my father to come on you, then wouldn't I tell you that?"
| آنگاه داوود پرسید: «چگونه بدانم پدرت با عصبانیت جواب تو را داده است یا نه؟» | 10 |
Then David said to Jonathan, "Who will tell me if your father answers you harshly?"
| یوناتان پاسخ داد: «بیا به صحرا برویم.» پس آنها با هم به صحرا رفتند. | 11 |
Jonathan said to David, "Come, and let us go out into the field." They both went out into the field.
| سپس یوناتان به داوود گفت: «به خداوند، خدای اسرائیل قسم می‌خورم که پس فردا همین موقع راجع به تو با پدرم صحبت می‌کنم و تو را در جریان می‌گذارم. | 12 |
Jonathan said to David, "The LORD, the God of Israel, is witness. When I have studied my father, about this time tomorrow, or the third day, look, if there is good toward David, shall I not then send to you, and disclose it to you?
| اگر او خشمگین باشد و قصد کشتن تو را داشته باشد، من به تو خبر می‌دهم تا فرار کنی. اگر این کار را نکنم، خداوند خودش مرا بکشد. دعا می‌کنم که هر جا می‌روی، خداوند با تو باشد، همان‌طور که با پدرم بود. | 13 |
But should it please my father to do you harm, God do so to Jonathan and more also if I do not let you know and send you away, that you may go in safety. And may the LORD be with you, as he has been with my father.
| به من قول بده که نه فقط نسبت به من خوبی کنی، بلکه بعد از من نیز وقتی خداوند تمام دشمنانت را نابود کرد لطف تو هرگز از سر فرزندانم کم نشود.» | 14 |
And if I am still alive, deal loyally with me. But if I die,
| 15 |
do not cut off your loyalty from my house forever. And when the LORD cuts off the enemies of David, each one from the face of the earth,
| پس یوناتان با خاندان داوود عهد بست و گفت: «خداوند از دشمنان تو انتقام گیرد.» | 16 |
if the name of Jonathan be cut off from the house of David, then may the LORD require it at the hand of the enemies of David."
| یوناتان داوود را مثل جان خودش دوست می‌داشت و بار دیگر او را به دوستی‌ای که با هم داشتند قسم داد. | 17 |
And Jonathan swore to David again, because he loved him, for he loved him as he loved his own soul.
| آنگاه یوناتان گفت: «فردا جشن ماه نو است و سر سفره جای تو خالی خواهد بود. | 18 |
Then Jonathan said, "Tomorrow is the new moon: and you will be missed, because your seat will be empty.
| پس فردا، سراغ تو را خواهند گرفت. بنابراین تو به همان جای قبلی برو و پشت سنگی که در آنجاست بنشین. | 19 |
On the third day you should go down quickly, and come to the place where you hid yourself when this started, and stay by that mound.
| من می‌آیم و سه تیر به طرف آن می‌اندازم و چنین وانمود می‌کنم که برای تمرین تیراندازی، سنگ را هدف قرار داده‌ام. | 20 |
And as for me, on the third day I will shoot arrows to its side, aiming it toward a target.
| بعد نوکرم را می‌فرستم تا تیرها را بیاورد. اگر شنیدی که من به او گفتم: تیرها این طرف است آنها را بردار. به خداوند زنده قسم که خطری متوجه تو نیست؛ | 21 |
Look, I will send the boy, saying, 'Go, find the arrows.' If I tell the boy, 'Look, the arrow is on this side of you. Take it;' then come; for there is peace to you and no hurt, as the LORD lives.
| ولی اگر گفتم: جلوتر برو، تیرها آن طرف است، باید هر چه زودتر فرار کنی چون خداوند چنین می‌خواهد. | 22 |
But if I say this to the boy, 'Look, the arrow is beyond you;' then go your way; for the LORD has sent you away.
| در ضمن در مورد عهدی که با هم بستیم، یادت باشد که خداوند تا ابد شاهد آن است.» | 23 |
Concerning the matter which you and I have spoken of, look, the LORD is a witness between you and me forever."
| پس داوود در صحرا پنهان شد. وقتی جشن اول ماه شروع شد، پادشاه برای خوردن غذا در جای همیشگی خود کنار دیوار نشست. یوناتان در مقابل او و اَبنیر هم کنار شائول نشستند، ولی جای داوود خالی بود. | 24 |
So David hid himself in the field. And when the new moon had come, the king sat at the table to eat.
| 25 |
The king sat on his seat, as at other times, even on the seat by the wall; and Jonathan sat opposite, and Abner sat by Saul's side: but David's place was empty.
| آن روز شائول در این مورد چیزی نگفت چون پیش خود فکر کرد: «لابد اتفاقی برای داوود افتاده که او را نجس کرده و به همین دلیل نتوانسته است در جشن شرکت کند. بله، بدون شک او طاهر نیست.» | 26 |
Nevertheless Saul did not say anything that day: for he thought, "Something has happened to him. He is not clean. Surely he is not clean."
| اما وقتی روز بعد هم جای داوود خالی ماند، شائول از یوناتان پرسید: «پسر یَسا کجاست؟ نه دیروز سر سفره آمد نه امروز!» | 27 |
It happened on the next day after the new moon, the second day, that David's place was empty. Saul said to Jonathan his son, "Why hasn't the son of Jesse come to the table, either yesterday or today?"
| یوناتان پاسخ داد: «داوود از من خیلی خواهش کرد تا اجازه بدهم به بیت‌لحم برود. به من گفت که برادرش از او خواسته است در مراسم قربانی خانواده‌اش شرکت کند. پس من هم به او اجازه دادم برود، به همین دلیل بر سر سفرۀ پادشاه حاضر نشده است.» | 28 |
Jonathan answered Saul, and said, "David earnestly asked leave of me to go to Bethlehem.
| 29 |
He said, 'Please let me go, for our family has a sacrifice in the city. And as for me, my brothers have ordered me to be there. Now, if I have found favor in your eyes, please let me go away and see my brothers.' Therefore he has not come to the king's table."
| شائول خشمگین شد و سر یوناتان فریاد زد: «ای حرامزاده! خیال می‌کنی من نمی‌دانم که تو از این پسر یَسا طرفداری می‌کنی؟ تو با این کار هم خودت و هم مادرت را بی‌آبرو می‌کنی! | 30 |
Then Saul's anger flared up at Jonathan, and he said to him, "You son of a rebellious slave girl, don't I know that you are the companion of the son of Jesse, to your own disgrace, and to the disgrace of your mother's nakedness?
| تا زمانی که او زنده باشد تو به مقام پادشاهی نخواهی رسید. حال برو و او را اینجا بیاور تا کشته شود!» | 31 |
For as long as the son of Jesse lives on the earth, your kingdom will not be established. Therefore now send and bring him to me, for he shall surely die."
| اما یوناتان به پدرش گفت: «مگر او چه کرده است؟ چرا می‌خواهی او را بکشی؟» | 32 |
But Jonathan answered Saul, "Why should he be put to death? What has he done?"
| آنگاه شائول نیزهٔ خود را به طرف یوناتان انداخت تا او را بکشد. پس برای یوناتان شکی باقی نماند که پدرش قصد کشتن داوود را دارد. | 33 |
Then Saul raised his spear at him to strike him, and Jonathan realized that this evil from his father to kill David was determined.
| یوناتان با عصبانیت از سر سفره بلند شد و آن روز چیزی نخورد، زیرا رفتار زشت پدرش نسبت به داوود او را ناراحت کرده بود. | 34 |
So Jonathan sprang up from the table in fierce anger, and ate no food the second day of the month; for he was grieved for David, because his father had dishonored him.
| صبح روز بعد، یوناتان طبق قولی که به داوود داده بود به صحرا رفت و پسری را با خود برد تا تیرهایش را جمع کند. | 35 |
It happened in the morning, that Jonathan went out into the field at the time appointed with David, and a little boy with him.
| یوناتان به آن پسر گفت: «بدو و تیرهایی را که می‌اندازم پیدا کن.» وقتی آن پسر می‌دوید، تیر را چنان انداخت که از او رد شد. | 36 |
He said to the boy, "Run, find now the arrows which I shoot." And as the boy ran, he shot an arrow, causing it to pass beyond, toward the city.
| وقتی آن پسر به تیری که انداخته شده بود نزدیک می‌شد، یوناتان فریاد زد: «جلوتر برو، تیر آن طرف است. | 37 |
When the boy had come to the place of the arrow which Jonathan had shot, Jonathan called after the youth, and said, "Isn't the arrow beyond you?"
| زود باش، بدو.» آن پسر همهٔ تیرها را جمع کرده، پیش یوناتان آورد. | 38 |
Jonathan cried after the boy, "Go fast. Hurry. Do not delay." Jonathan's boy gathered up the arrows, and came to his master.
| پسرک از همه جا بی‌خبر بود، اما یوناتان و داوود می‌دانستند چه می‌گذرد. | 39 |
But the boy did not know anything. Only Jonathan and David knew the matter.
| یوناتان تیر و کمان خود را به آن پسر داد تا به شهر ببرد. | 40 |
Jonathan gave his weapons to his boy, and said to him, "Go, carry them to the city."
| به محض آنکه یوناتان پسر را روانهٔ شهر نمود، داوود از مخفیگاه خود خارج شده، نزد یوناتان آمد و روی زمین افتاده، سه بار جلوی او خم شد. آنها یکدیگر را بوسیده، با هم گریه کردند. داوود نمی‌توانست جلوی گریهٔ خود را بگیرد. | 41 |
As soon as the boy was gone, David arose from beside the mound, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times. They kissed one another, and wept one with another, and David wept the most.
| سرانجام یوناتان به داوود گفت: «به سلامتی برو، چون ما هر دو با هم در حضور خداوند عهد بسته‌ایم که تا ابد نسبت به هم و اولاد یکدیگر وفادار بمانیم.» پس آنها از همدیگر جدا شدند. داوود از آنجا رفت و یوناتان به شهر برگشت. | 42 |
Then Jonathan said, "Go in peace, because we have both sworn in the name of the LORD, saying, 'The LORD shall be between me and you, and between my descendants and your descendants, forever.'" He arose and departed; and Jonathan went into the city.
