اول تواریخ 13

1 داوود پس از مشورت با فرماندهان سپاه،

And he consulted David with [the] commanders of the thousands and the hundreds to every leader.

2 خطاب به مردان اسرائیل که در حبرون جمع شده بودند چنین گفت: «حال که شما قصد دارید مرا پادشاه خود سازید و خداوند، خدای ما نیز پادشاهی مرا قبول فرموده است، بیایید برای تمام برادرانمان در سراسر اسرائیل پیغام بفرستیم و آنها را با کاهنان و لاویان دعوت کنیم که بیایند و به جمع ما ملحق شوند.

And he said David to all - [the] assembly of Israel if [is] on you good and from Yahweh God our let us spread out let us send to countrymen our who remain in all [the] lands of Israel and with them the priests and the Levites in [the] cities of pasture lands their so they may gather together to us.

3 بیایید برویم و صندوق عهد خدا را باز آوریم، زیرا از وقتی که شائول پادشاه شد به آن توجه نکرده‌ایم.»

And let us bring round [the] ark of God our to us for not we sought it in [the] days of Saul.

4 همه این پیشنهاد را پسندیدند و با آن موافقت کردند.

And they said all the assembly to do thus for it was pleasing the matter in [the] eyes of all the people.

5 پس داوود تمام مردم را از سراسر خاک اسرائیل احضار نمود تا وقتی که صندوق عهد خداوند را از قریهٔ یعاریم می‌آورند، حضور داشته باشند.

And he called together David all Israel from Shihor of Egypt and to Lebo Hamath to bring [the] ark of God from Kiriath Jearim.

6 آنگاه داوود و تمام قوم اسرائیل به بعله (که همان قریه یعاریم در یهوداست) رفتند تا صندوق خدا را که نام خداوند بر آن است از آنجا بیاورند، خداوندی که میان کروبیانِ روی صندوق جلوس می‌کند.

And he went up David and all Israel Baalah towards to Kiriath Jearim which [belongs] to Judah to bring up from there [the] ark of God - Yahweh [who] sits the cherubim where it is called a name.

7 پس آن را از خانهٔ ابیناداب برداشتند و بر ارابه‌ای نو گذاشتند. عزا و اخیو، گاوهای ارابه را می‌راندند.

And they made to ride [the] ark of God on a cart new from [the] house of Abinadab and Uzzah and Ahio [were] leading the cart.

8 آنگاه داوود و تمام قوم با سرود همراه با صدای بربط و عود، دف و سنج، و شیپور در حضور خدا با تمام قدرت به شادی پرداختند.

And David and all Israel [were] making merry before God with all strength and with songs and with harps and with lyres and with tambourines and with cymbals and with trumpets.

9 اما وقتی به خرمنگاه کیدون رسیدند، پای گاوها لغزید و عزا دست خود را دراز کرد تا صندوق عهد را بگیرد.

And they came to [the] threshing floor of Kidon and he stretched out Uzzah hand his to grasp the ark for they stumbled the ox[en].

10 در این موقع خشم خداوند بر عزا افروخته شد و او را کشت، چون به صندوق عهد دست زده بود. پس عزا همان جا در حضور خدا مرد.

And it burned [the] anger of Yahweh on Uzzah and he struck down him on that he had stretched out hand his on the ark and he died there before God.

11 داوود از این عمل خداوند غمگین شد و آن مکان را «مجازات عزا» نامید که تا به امروز هم به این نام معروف است.

And it burned to David for he had broken out Yahweh a breaking out against Uzzah and he called the place that Perez Uzzah until the day this.

12 آن روز، داوود از خدا ترسید و گفت: «چطور می‌توانم صندوق عهد خدا را به خانه ببرم؟»

And he feared David God on the day that saying how? will I bring to myself [the] ark of God.

13 بنابراین تصمیم گرفت به جای شهر داوود، آن را به خانهٔ عوبید ادوم که از جت آمده بود، ببرد.

And not he turned aside David the ark to himself to [the] city of David and he turned aside it to [the] house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

14 صندوق عهد سه ماه در خانهٔ عوبید ماند و خداوند عوبید و تمام اهل خانهٔ او را برکت داد.

And it remained [the] ark of God with [the] household of Obed-Edom in house his three months and he blessed Yahweh [the] household of Obed-Edom and all that [belonged] to him.
