روت 4

۱ 1 و بوعز به دروازه آمده، آنجا نشست و اینک آن ولی که بوعز درباره او سخن گفته بود می‌گذشت، و به او گفت: «ای فلان! به اینجابرگشته، بنشین.» و او برگشته، نشست.

Now Boaz went up to the gate, and sat him down there: and, behold, the near kinsman of whom Boaz spake came by; unto whom he said, Ho, such a one! turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside, and sat down.

۲ 2 و ده نفراز مشایخ شهر را برداشته، به ایشان گفت: «اینجابنشینید.» و ایشان نشستند.

And he took ten men of the elders of the city, and said, Sit ye down here. And they sat down.

۳ 3 و به آن ولی گفت: «نعومی که از بلاد موآب برگشته است قطعه زمینی را که از برادر ما الیملک بود، می‌فروشد.

And he said unto the near kinsman, Naomi, that is come again out of the country of Moab, selleth the parcel of land, which was our brother Elimelech’s:

۴ 4 ومن مصلحت دیدم که تو را اطلاع داده، بگویم که آن را به حضور این مجلس و مشایخ قوم من بخر، پس اگر انفکاک می‌کنی، بکن، و اگر انفکاک نمی کنی مرا خبر بده تا بدانم، زیرا غیر از تو کسی نیست که انفکاک کند، و من بعد از تو هستم.» اوگفت: «من انفکاک می‌کنم.»

and I thought to disclose it unto thee, saying, Buy it before them that sit here, and before the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem it, redeem it: but if thou wilt not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know; for there is none to redeem it besides thee; and I am after thee. And he said, I will redeem it.

۵ 5 بوعز گفت: «درروزی که زمین را از دست نعومی می‌خری، ازروت موآبیه، زن متوفی نیز باید خرید، تا نام متوفی را بر میراثش برانگیزانی.»

Then said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou must buy it also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance.

۶ 6 آن ولی گفت: «نمی توانم برای خود انفکاک کنم مبادا میراث خود را فاسد کنم، پس تو حق انفکاک مرا بر ذمه خود بگیر زیرا نمی توانم انفکاک نمایم.»

And the near kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: take thou my right of redemption on thee; for I cannot redeem it.

۷ 7 و رسم انفکاک و مبادلت در ایام قدیم دراسرائیل به جهت اثبات هر امر این بود که شخص کفش خود را بیرون کرده، به همسایه خود می‌داد. و این در اسرائیل قانون شده است.

Now this was [the custom] in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning exchanging, to confirm all things: a man drew off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbor; and this was the [manner of] attestation in Israel.

۸ 8 پس آن ولی به بوعز گفت: «آن را برای خود بخر.» و کفش خود را بیرون کرد.

So the near kinsman said unto Boaz, Buy it for thyself. And he drew off his shoe.

۹ 9 و بوعز به مشایخ و به تمامی قوم گفت: «شما امروز شاهد باشید که تمامی مایملک الیملک و تمامی مایملک کلیون ومحلون را از دست نعومی خریدم.

And Boaz said unto the elders, and unto all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech’s, and all that was Chilion’s and Mahlon’s, of the hand of Naomi.

۱۰ 10 و هم روت موآبیه زن محلون را به زنی خود خریدم تا نام متوفی را بر میراثش برانگیزانم، و نام متوفی ازمیان برادرانش و از دروازه محله‌اش منقطع نشود، شما امروز شاهد باشید.»

Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.

۱۱ 11 و تمامی قوم که نزد دروازه بودند و مشایخ گفتند: «شاهد هستیم و خداوند این زن را که به خانه تو درآمد، مثل راحیل و لیه گرداند که خانه اسرائیل را بنا کردند، و تو در افراته کامیاب شو، ودر بیت لحم نامور باش.

And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. Jehovah make the woman that is come into thy house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephrathah, and be famous in Beth-lehem:

۱۲ 12 و خانه تو مثل خانه فارص باشد که تامار برای یهودا زایید، ازاولادی که خداوند تو را از این دختر، خواهدبخشید.»

and let thy house be like the house of Perez, whom Tamar bare unto Judah, of the seed which Jehovah shall give thee of this young woman.

۱۳ 13 پس بوعز روت را گرفت و او زن وی شد وبه او درآمد و خداوند او را حمل داد که پسری زایید.

So Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife; and he went in unto her, and Jehovah gave her conception, and she bare a son.

۱۴ 14 و زنان به نعومی گفتند: «متبارک بادخداوند که تو را امروز بی‌ولی نگذاشته است و نام او در اسرائیل بلند شود.

And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be Jehovah, who hath not left thee this day without a near kinsman; and let his name be famous in Israel.

۱۵ 15 و او برایت تازه کننده جان و پرورنده پیری تو باشد، زیرا که عروست که تو را دوست می‌دارد و برایت از هفت پسر بهتراست، او را زایید.»

And he shall be unto thee a restorer of life, and a nourisher of thine old age, for thy daughter-in-law, who loveth thee, who is better to thee than seven sons, hath borne him.

۱۶ 16 و نعومی پسر را گرفته، در آغوش خود گذاشت و دایه او شد.

And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it.

۱۷ 17 و زنان همسایه‌اش، او را نام نهاده، گفتند برای نعومی پسری زاییده شد، و نام اورا عوبید خواندند و او پدر یسی پدر داوداست.

And the women her neighbors gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.

۱۸ 18 این است پیدایش فارص: فارص حصرون را آورد؛

Now these are the generations of Perez: Perez begat Hezron,

۱۹ 19 و حصرون، رام را آورد؛ و رام، عمیناداب را آورد؛

and Hezron begat Ram, and Ram begat Amminadab,

۲۰ 20 و عمیناداب نحشون راآورد؛ و نحشون سلمون را آورد؛

and Amminadab begat Nahshon, and Nahshon begat Salmon,

۲۱ 21 و سلمون بوعز را آورد؛ و بوعز عوبید را آورد؛

and Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed,

۲۲ 22 و عوبیدیسی را آورد؛ و یسی داود را آورد.

and Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.
