۱ 1 برای سالار مغنیان بر یدوتون. مزمور آساف آواز من بسوی خداست و فریادمی کنم. آواز من بسوی خداست گوش خود را به من فرا خواهد گرفت.

For the end, for Idithun, a Psalm of Asaph. I cried to the Lord with my voice, yea, my voice [was addressed] to God; and he gave heed to me.

۲ 2 در روز تنگی خود خداوند را طلب کردم. در شب، دست من دراز شده، بازکشیده نگشت و جان من تسلی نپذیرفت.

In the day of mine affliction I earnestly sought the Lord; [even] with my hands by night before him, and I was not deceived; my soul refused to be comforted.

۳ 3 خدا را یاد می‌کنم و پریشان می‌شوم. تفکر می‌نمایم و روح من متحیر می‌گردد، سلاه.

I remembered God, and rejoiced; I poured out my complaint, and my soul fainted. (Pause)

۴ 4 چشمانم را بیدار می‌داشتی. بی‌تاب می‌شدم وسخن نمی توانستم گفت.

All mine enemies set a watch [against me]: I was troubled, and spoke not.

۵ 5 درباره ایام قدیم تفکرکرده‌ام. درباره سالهای زمانهای سلف.

I considered the days of old, and remembered ancient years.

۶ 6 سرودشبانه خود را بخاطر می‌آورم و در دل خود تفکرمی کنم و روح من تفتیش نموده است.

And I meditated; I communed with my heart by night, and diligently searched my spirit, [saying],

۷ 7 مگر خداتا به ابد ترک خواهد کرد و دیگر هرگز راضی نخواهد شد.

Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be well pleased no more?

۸ 8 آیا رحمت او تا به ابد زایل شده است؟ و قول او باطل گردیده تا ابدالاباد؟

Will he cut off his mercy for ever, even for ever and ever?

۹ 9 آیاخدا رافت را فراموش کرده؟ و رحمت های خودرا در غضب مسدود ساخته است؟ سلاه.

Will God forget to pity? or will he shut up his compassions in his wrath? (Pause)

۱۰ 10 پس گفتم این ضعف من است. زهی سالهای دست راست حضرت اعلی!

And I said, Now I have begun; this is the change of the right hand of the Most High.

۱۱ 11 کارهای خداوند را ذکرخواهم نمود زیرا کار عجیب تو را که از قدیم است به یاد خواهم آورد.

I remembered the works of the Lord; for I will remember thy wonders from the beginning.

۱۲ 12 و در جمیع کارهای تو تامل خواهم کرد و در صنعتهای تو تفکرخواهم نمود.

And I will meditate on all thy works, and will consider thy doings.

۱۳ 13 ‌ای خدا، طریق تو در قدوسیت است. کیست خدای بزرگ مثل خدا؟

O God, thy way is in the sanctuary; who is a great God as our God?

۱۴ 14 تو خدایی هستی که کارهای عجیب می‌کنی و قوت خویش را بر قوم‌ها معروف گردانیده‌ای.

Thou art the God that doest wonders; thou hast made known thy power among the nations.

۱۵ 15 قوم خود را به بازوی خویش رهانیده‌ای یعنی بنی یعقوب وبنی یوسف را. سلاه.

Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. (Pause)

۱۶ 16 آبها تو را دید، ای خداآبها تو را دیده، متزلزل شد. لجه‌ها نیز سخت مضطرب گردید.

The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee, and feared; and the depths were troubled.

۱۷ 17 ابرها آب بریخت و افلاک رعد بداد. تیرهای تو نیز به هر طرف روان گردید.

[There was] an abundant sound of waters: the clouds uttered a voice; for thine arrows went abroad.

۱۸ 18 صدای رعد تو در گردباد بود و برقها ربع مسکون را روشن کرد. پس زمین مرتعش و متزلزل گردید.

The voice of thy thunder was abroad, and around thy lightnings appeared to the world; the earth trembled a quaked.

۱۹ 19 طریق تو در دریاست و راههای تو درآبهای فراوان و آثار تو را نتوان دانست.

Thy way is in the sea, and thy paths in many waters, and thy footsteps cannot be known.

۲۰ 20 قوم خود را مثل گوسفندان راهنمایی نمودی، به‌دست موسی و هارون.

Thou didst guide thy people as sheep by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
