مزامیر 73

۱ 1 مزمور آساف هرآینه خدا برای اسرائیل نیکوست، یعنی برای آنانی که پاک دل هستند.

A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God [is] good to Israel, [even] to such as are of a clean heart.

۲ 2 واما من نزدیک بود که پایهایم از راه در رود ونزدیک بود که قدمهایم بلغزد.

But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

۳ 3 زیرا بر متکبران حسد بردم چون سلامتی شریران را دیدم.

For I was envious at the foolish, [when] I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

۴ 4 زیراکه در موت ایشان قیدها نیست و قوت ایشان مستحکم است.

For [there are] no bands in their death: but their strength [is] firm.

۵ 5 مثل مردم در زحمت نیستند ومثل آدمیان مبتلا نمی باشند.

They [are] not in trouble [as other] men; neither are they afflicted like [other] men.

۶ 6 بنابراین گردن ایشان به تکبر آراسته است وظلم مثل لباس ایشان را می‌پوشاند.

Therefore pride encompasseth them as a chain; violence covereth them [as] a garment.

۷ 7 چشمان ایشان از فربهی بدر‌آمده است و از خیالات دل خود تجاوز می‌کنند.

Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.

۸ 8 استهزا می‌کنند و حرفهای بد می‌زنند و سخنان ظلم آمیز را از جای بلندمی گویند.

They are corrupt, and speak wickedly [concerning] oppression: they speak loftily.

۹ 9 دهان خود را بر آسمانها گذارده‌اند وزبان ایشان در جهان گردش می‌کند.

They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

۱۰ 10 پس قوم او بدینجا برمی گردند و آبهای فراوان، بدیشان نوشانیده می‌شود.

Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full [cup] are wrung out to them.

۱۱ 11 و ایشان می‌گویند: «خدا چگونه بداند و آیا حضرت اعلی علم دارد؟»

And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the Most High?

۱۲ 12 اینک اینان شریر هستند که همیشه مطمئن بوده، در دولتمندی افزوده می‌شوند.

Behold, these [are] the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase [in] riches.

۱۳ 13 یقین من دل خود را عبث طاهر ساخته و دستهای خود رابه پاکی شسته‌ام.

Verily I have cleansed my heart [in] vain, and washed my hands in innocence.

۱۴ 14 و من تمامی روز مبتلامی شوم و تادیب من هر بامداد حاضر است.

For all the day long have I been afflicted, and chastened every morning.

۱۵ 15 اگر می‌گفتم که چنین سخن گویم، هر آینه برطبقه فرزندان تو خیانت می‌کردم.

If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend [against] the generation of thy children.

۱۶ 16 چون تفکرکردم که این را بفهمم، در نظر من دشوار آمد.

When I thought to know this, it [was] too painful for me;

۱۷ 17 تابه قدسهای خدا داخل شدم. آنگاه در آخرت ایشان تامل کردم.

Until I went into the sanctuary of God; [then] I understood their end.

۱۸ 18 هر آینه ایشان را در جایهای لغزنده گذارده‌ای. ایشان را به خرابیها خواهی انداخت.

Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou didst cast them down into destruction.

۱۹ 19 چگونه بغته به هلاکت رسیده‌اند! تباه شده، از ترسهای هولناک نیست گردیده‌اند.

How are they [brought] into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.

۲۰ 20 مثل خواب کسی چون بیدار شد، ای خداوندهمچنین چون برخیزی، صورت ایشان را ناچیزخواهی شمرد.

As a dream when [one] awaketh; [so], O LORD, when thou awakest, thou wilt despise their image.

۲۱ 21 لیکن دل من تلخ شده بود و در اندرون خود، دل ریش شده بودم.

Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.

۲۲ 22 و من وحشی بودم ومعرفت نداشتم و مثل بهایم نزد تو گردیدم.

So foolish [was] I, and ignorant: I was [as] a beast before thee.

۲۳ 23 ولی من دائم با تو هستم. تو دست راست مراتایید کرده‌ای.

Nevertheless I [am] continually with thee: thou hast held [me] by my right hand.

۲۴ 24 موافق رای خود مرا هدایت خواهی نمود و بعد از این مرا به جلال خواهی رسانید.

Thou wilt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me [to] glory.

۲۵ 25 کیست برای من در آسمان؟ و غیر ازتو هیچ‌چیز را در زمین نمی خواهم.

Whom have I in heaven [but thee]? and [there is] none upon earth [that] I desire besides thee.

۲۶ 26 اگرچه جسد و دل من زائل گردد، لیکن صخره دلم وحصه من خداست تا ابدالاباد.

My flesh and my heart faileth: [but] God [is] the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

۲۷ 27 زیرا آنانی که ازتو دورند هلاک خواهند شد. و آنانی را که از توزنا می‌کنند، نابود خواهی ساخت.

For lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go astray from thee.

۲۸ 28 و اما مرانیکوست که به خدا تقرب جویم. بر خداوندیهوه توکل کرده‌ام تا همه کارهای تو را بیان کنم.

But [it is] good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
