۱ 1 برای سالار مغنیان. مزمور داود آسمان جلال خدا را بیان می‌کند وفلک از عمل دستهایش خبر می‌دهد.

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows his handiwork.

۲ 2 روز سخن می‌راند تا روز و شب معرفت را اعلان می‌کند تا شب.

Day to day utters speech, and night to night shows knowledge.

۳ 3 سخن نیست و کلامی نی و آوازآنها شنیده نمی شود.

There is no speech nor language in which their voice is not heard.

۴ 4 قانون آنها در تمام جهان بیرون رفت و بیان آنها تا اقصای ربع مسکون.

Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tabernacle for the sun,

۵ 5 خیمه‌ای برای آفتاب در آنها قرار داد؛ و او مثل داماد از حجله خود بیرون می‌آید و مثل پهلوان ازدویدن در میدان شادی می‌کند.

which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices as a strong man to run his course.

۶ 6 خروجش ازکرانه آسمان است و مدارش تا به کرانه دیگر؛ وهیچ‌چیز از حرارتش مستور نیست.

His going forth is from the end of the heavens, and his circuit to the ends of it, and there is nothing hid from the heat of it.

۷ 7 شریعت خداوند کامل است و جان رابرمی گرداند؛ شهادات خداوند امین است و جاهل را حکیم می‌گرداند.

The law of Jehovah is perfect, restoring the soul. The testimony of Jehovah is sure, making a simple man wise.

۸ 8 فرایض خداوند راست است و دل را شاد می‌سازد. امر خداوند پاک است و چشم را روشن می‌کند.

The precepts of Jehovah are right, rejoicing the heart. The commandment of Jehovah is pure, enlightening the eyes.

۹ 9 ترس خداوند طاهراست و ثابت تا ابدالاباد. احکام خداوند حق وتمام عدل است.

The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring forever. The ordinances of Jehovah are true, and righteous altogether.

۱۰ 10 از طلا مرغوب تر و از زرخالص بسیار. از شهد شیرینتر و از قطرات شانه عسل.

More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold. Sweeter also than honey and the droppings of the honeycomb.

۱۱ 11 بنده تو نیز از آنها متنبه می‌شود، و درحفظ آنها ثواب عظیمی است.

Moreover by them thy servant is warned. In keeping them there is great reward.

۱۲ 12 کیست که سهوهای خود را بداند؟ مرا ازخطایای مخفی‌ام طاهر ساز.

Who can discern his errors? Clear thou me from hidden faults.

۱۳ 13 بنده ات را نیز ازاعمال متکبرانه باز دار تا بر من مسلط نشود؛ آنگاه بی‌عیب و از گناه عظیم مبرا خواهم بود.

Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins. Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be upright, and I shall be clear from great transgression.

۱۴ 14 سخنان زبانم و تفکر دلم منظور نظر تو باشد، ای خداوند که صخره من و نجات‌دهنده من هستی!

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Jehovah, my rock, and my redeemer.
