مزامیر 17

۱ 1 صلات داود ای خداوند، عدالت را بشنو و به فریادمن توجه فرما! و دعای مرا که از لب بی‌ریا می‌آید، گوش بگیر!

Hear the right, O YHWH, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.

۲ 2 داد من از حضور توصادر شود؛ چشمان تو راستی را ببیند.

Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.

۳ 3 دل مراآزموده‌ای، شبانگاه از آن تفقد کرده‌ای. مرا قال گذاشته‌ای و هیچ نیافته‌ای، زیرا عزیمت کردم که زبانم تجاوز نکند.

Thou has proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou has tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

۴ 4 و اما کارهای آدمیان به کلام لبهای تو؛ خود را از راههای ظالم نگاه داشتم.

Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.

۵ 5 قدمهایم به آثار تو قائم است، پس پایهایم نخواهد لغزید.

Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.

۶ 6 ‌ای خدا تو را خوانده‌ام زیرا که مرا اجابت خواهی نمود. گوش خود را به من فراگیر و سخن مرا بشنو.

I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O El: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.

۷ 7 رحمت های خود را امتیاز ده، ای که متوکلان خویش را به‌دست راست خود ازمخالفان ایشان می‌رهانی.

Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.

۸ 8 مرا مثل مردمک چشم نگاه دار؛ مرا زیر سایه بال خود پنهان کن،

Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

۹ 9 از روی شریرانی که مرا خراب می‌سازند، ازدشمنان جانم که مرا احاطه می‌کنند.

From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

۱۰ 10 دل فربه خود را بسته‌اند. به زبان خویش سخنان تکبرآمیزمی گویند.

They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.

۱۱ 11 الان قدمهای ما را احاطه کرده‌اند، وچشمان خود را دوخته‌اند تا ما را به زمین بیندازند.

They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;

۱۲ 12 مثل او مثل شیری است که در دریدن حریص باشد، و مثل شیر ژیان که در بیشه خود درکمین است.

Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

۱۳ 13 ‌ای خداوند برخیز و پیش روی وی درآمده، او را بینداز و جانم را از شریر به شمشیر خود برهان،

Arise, O YHWH, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:

۱۴ 14 از آدمیان، ای خداوند، به‌دست خویش، از اهل جهان که نصیب ایشان در زندگانی است. که شکم ایشان را به ذخایرخود پرساخته‌ای و از اولاد سیر شده، زیادی مال خود را برای اطفال خویش ترک می‌کنند.

From men which are thy hand, O YHWH, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

۱۵ 15 و اما من روی تو را در عدالت خواهم دید و چون بیدار شوم از صورت تو سیر خواهم شد.

As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
