مزامیر 12

۱ 1 برای سالار مغنیان برثمانی. مزمور داود ای خداوند نجات بده زیرا که مردمقدس نابود شده است و امناء از میان بنی آدم نایاب گردیده‌اند!

For the end, A Psalm of David, upon the eighth. Save me, O Lord; for the godly man has failed; for truth is diminished from among the children of men.

۲ 2 همه به یکدیگر دروغ می‌گویند؛ به لبهای چاپلوس و دل منافق سخن می‌رانند.

Every one has spoken vanity to his neighbour: their lips are deceitful, they have spoken with a double heart.

۳ 3 خداوند همه لبهای چاپلوس رامنقطع خواهد ساخت، و هر زبانی را که سخنان تکبرآمیز بگوید.

Let the Lord destroy all the deceitful lips, and the tongue that speaks great words:

۴ 4 که می‌گویند: «به زبان خویش غالب می‌آییم. لبهای ما با ما است. کیست که بر ماخداوند باشد؟»

who have said, We will magnify our tongue; our lips are our own: who is Lord of us?

۵ 5 خداوند می‌گوید: «به‌سبب غارت مسکینان و ناله فقیران، الان برمی خیزم و او را در نجاتی که برای آن آه می‌کشد برپا خواهم داشت».

Because of the misery of the poor, and because of the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the Lord, I will set [them] in safety; I will speak [to them] thereof openly.

۶ 6 کلام خداوند کلام طاهر است، نقره مصفای در قال زمین که هفت مرتبه پاک شده است.

The oracles of the Lord are pure oracles; as silver tried in the fire, proved [in] a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

۷ 7 تو‌ای خداوند ایشان را محافظت خواهی نمود؛ از این طبقه و تا ابدالاباد محافظت خواهی فرمود.

Thou, O Lord, shalt keep us, and shalt preserve us, from this generation, and for ever.

۸ 8 شریران به هر جانب می‌خرامند، وقتی که خباثت در بنی آدم بلند می‌شود.

The ungodly walk around: according to thy greatness thou has greatly exalted the sons of men.
