امثال 10

۱ 1 امثال سلیمان: پسر حکیم پدر خود رامسرور می‌سازد، اما پسر احمق باعث حزن مادرش می‌شود.

The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father; but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.

۲ 2 گنجهای شرارت منفعت ندارد، اما عدالت از موت رهایی می‌دهد.

Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, but righteousness delivers from death.

۳ 3 خداوند جان مرد عادل را نمی گذارد گرسنه بشود، اما آرزوی شریران را باطل می‌سازد.

The LORD will not allow the soul of the righteous to go hungry, but he thrusts away the desire of the wicked.

۴ 4 کسی‌که به‌دست سست کار می‌کند فقیرمی گردد، اما دست چابک غنی می‌سازد.

He becomes poor who works with a lazy hand, but the hand of the diligent brings wealth.

۵ 5 کسی‌که در تابستان جمع کند پسر عاقل است، اما کسی‌که در موسم حصاد می‌خوابد، پسر شرم‌آورنده است.

He who gathers in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during the harvest is a son who causes shame.

۶ 6 بر سر عادلان برکت‌ها است، اما ظلم دهان شریران را می‌پوشاند.

Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

۷ 7 یادگار عادلان مبارک است، اما اسم شریران خواهد گندید.

The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot.

۸ 8 دانادل، احکام را قبول می‌کند، اما احمق پرگو تلف خواهد شد.

The wise in heart accept commandments, but a chattering fool will fall.

۹ 9 کسی‌که به راستی راه رود، در امنیت سالک گردد، و کسی‌که راه خود را کج می‌سازد آشکارخواهد شد.

He who walks blamelessly walks surely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out.

۱۰ 10 هر‌که چشمک می‌زند الم می‌رساند، امااحمق پرگو تلف می‌شود.

The one who winks with the eye causes trouble, but the one who boldly rebukes makes peace.

۱۱ 11 دهان عادلان چشمه حیات‌است، اما ظلم دهان شریران را می‌پوشاند.

The mouth of the righteous is a spring of life, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

۱۲ 12 بغض نزاعها می‌انگیزاند، اما محبت هر گناه را مستور می‌سازد.

Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all wrongs.

۱۳ 13 در لبهای فطانت پیشگان حکمت یافت می‌شود، اما چوب به جهت پشت مردناقص العقل است.

Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has discernment, but a rod is for the back of him who is void of understanding.

۱۴ 14 حکیمان علم را ذخیره می‌کنند، اما دهان احمق نزدیک به هلاکت است.

Wise men lay up knowledge, but the mouth of the foolish is near ruin.

۱۵ 15 اموال دولتمندان شهر حصاردار ایشان می‌باشد، اما بینوایی فقیران هلاکت ایشان است.

The rich man's wealth is his strong city. The destruction of the poor is their poverty.

۱۶ 16 عمل مرد عادل مودی به حیات‌است، امامحصول شریر به گناه می‌انجامد.

The labor of the righteous leads to life. The increase of the wicked leads to sin.

۱۷ 17 کسی‌که تادیب را نگاه دارد در طریق حیات‌است، اما کسی‌که تنبیه را ترک نماید گمراه می‌شود.

He is in the way of life who heeds correction, but he who forsakes reproof leads others astray.

۱۸ 18 کسی‌که بغض را می‌پوشاند دروغگومی باشد. کسی‌که بهتان را شیوع دهد احمق است.

He who hides hatred has lying lips. He who utters a slander is a fool.

۱۹ 19 کثرت کلام از گناه خالی نمی باشد، اما آنکه لبهایش را ضبط نماید عاقل است.

In the multitude of words there is no lack of disobedience, but he who restrains his lips does wisely.

۲۰ 20 زبان عادلان نقره خالص است، اما دل شریران لاشی ء می‌باشد.

The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver. The heart of the wicked is of little worth.

۲۱ 21 لبهای عادلان بسیاری را رعایت می‌کند، اما احمقان از بی‌عقلی می‌میرند.

The lips of the righteous feed many, but the foolish die for lack of understanding.

۲۲ 22 برکت خداوند دولتمند می‌سازد، و هیچ زحمت بر آن نمی افزاید.

The LORD's blessing brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.

۲۳ 23 جاهل در عمل بد اهتزاز دارد، و صاحب فطانت در حکمت.

It is a fool's pleasure to do wickedness, but wisdom is a man of understanding's pleasure.

۲۴ 24 خوف شریران به ایشان می‌رسد، و آرزوی عادلان به ایشان عطا خواهد شد.

What the wicked fear, will overtake them, but the desire of the righteous will be granted.

۲۵ 25 مثل گذشتن گردباد، شریر نابود می‌شود، امامرد عادل بنیاد جاودانی است.

When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more; but the righteous stand firm forever.

۲۶ 26 چنانکه سرکه برای دندان و دود برای چشمان است، همچنین است مرد کاهل برای آنانی که او را می‌فرستند.

As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to those who send him.

۲۷ 27 ترس خداوند عمر را طویل می‌سازد، اماسالهای شریران کوتاه خواهد شد.

The fear of the LORD prolongs days, but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

۲۸ 28 انتظار عادلان شادمانی است، اما امیدشریران ضایع خواهد شد.

The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hope of the wicked will perish.

۲۹ 29 طریق خداوند به جهت کاملان قلعه است، اما به جهت عاملان شر هلاکت می‌باشد.

The way of the LORD is a stronghold to the upright, but it is a destruction to evildoers.

۳۰ 30 مرد عادل هرگز متحرک نخواهد شد، اماشریران در زمین ساکن نخواهند گشت.

The righteous will never be removed, but the wicked will not dwell in the land.

۳۱ 31 دهان صدیقان حکمت را می‌رویاند، امازبان دروغگویان از ریشه‌کنده خواهد شد.

The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut off.

۳۲ 32 لبهای عادلان به امور مرضیه عارف است، اما دهان شریران پر از دروغ‌ها است.

The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked is perverse.
