نحمیا 13

۱ 1 در آن روز، کتاب موسی را به سمع قوم خواندند و در آن نوشته‌ای یافت شد که عمونیان و موآبیان تا به ابد به جماعت خدا داخل نشوند.

On that day they read in the scroll of Moses in the audience of the people; and in it was found written, that an Ammonite and a Moabite should not enter into the assembly of God forever,

۲ 2 چونکه ایشان بنی‌اسرائیل را به نان و آب استقبال نکردند، بلکه بلعام را به ضد ایشان اجیرنمودند تا ایشان را لعنت نماید اما خدای ما لعنت را به برکت تبدیل نمود.

because they did not meet the children of Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against them, to curse them: however our God turned the curse into a blessing.

۳ 3 پس چون تورات راشنیدند، تمامی گروه مختلف را از میان اسرائیل جدا کردند.

It came to pass, when they had heard the law, that they separated from Israel all the mixed multitude.

۴ 4 و قبل از این الیاشیب کاهن که بر حجره های خانه خدای ما تعیین شده بود، با طوبیا قرابتی داشت.

Now before this, Eliashib the priest, who was appointed over the rooms of the house of our God, being allied to Tobiah,

۵ 5 و برای او حجره بزرگ ترتیب داده بودکه در آن قبل از آن هدایای آردی و بخور وظروف را و عشر گندم و شراب و روغن را که فریضه لاویان و مغنیان و دربانان بود و هدایای افراشتنی کاهنان را می‌گذاشتند.

had prepared for him a great room, where before they laid the meal offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the grain, the new wine, and the oil, which were given by commandment to the Levites, and the singers, and the gatekeepers; and the wave offerings for the priests.

۶ 6 و در همه آن وقت، من در اورشلیم نبودم زیرا در سال سی ودوم ارتحشستا پادشاه بابل، نزد پادشاه رفتم و بعداز ایامی چند از پادشاه رخصت خواستم.

But in all this, I was not at Jerusalem; for in the two and thirtieth year of Artachshasta king of Babylon I went to the king: and after certain days asked I leave of the king,

۷ 7 وچون به اورشلیم رسیدم، از عمل زشتی که الیاشیب درباره طوبیا کرده بود، از اینکه حجره‌ای برایش در صحن خانه خدا ترتیب نموده بود، آگاه شدم.

and I came to Jerusalem, and understood the evil that Eliashib had done for Tobiah, in preparing him a room in the courts of God's house.

۸ 8 و این امر به نظر من بسیار ناپسند آمده، پس تمامی اسباب خانه طوبیا را از حجره بیرون ریختم.

It grieved me severely: therefore I cast forth all the household stuff of Tobiah out of the room.

۹ 9 و امر فرمودم که حجره را تطهیر نمایندو ظروف خانه خدا و هدایا و بخور را در آن بازآوردم.

Then I commanded, and they cleansed the rooms: and there brought I again the vessels of God's house, with the meal offerings and the frankincense.

۱۰ 10 و فهمیدم که حصه های لاویان را به ایشان نمی دادند و از این جهت، هر کدام از لاویان ومغنیانی که مشغول خدمت می‌بودند، به مزرعه های خویش فرار کرده بودند.

I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given them; so that the Levites and the singers, who did the work, had fled everyone to his field.

۱۱ 11 پس باسروران مشاجره نموده، گفتم چرا درباره خانه خدا غفلت می‌نمایند. و ایشان را جمع کرده، درجایهای ایشان برقرار نمودم.

Then I contended with the rulers, and said, "Why is God's house forsaken?" I gathered them together, and set them in their place.

۱۲ 12 و جمیع یهودیان، عشر گندم و عصیر انگور و روغن را درخزانه‌ها آوردند.

Then brought all Judah the tithe of the grain and the new wine and the oil to the treasuries.

۱۳ 13 و شلمیای کاهن و صادوق کاتب و فدایا را که از لاویان بود، بر خزانه هاگماشتم و به پهلوی ایشان، حانان بن زکور بن متنیارا، زیرا که مردم ایشان را امین می‌پنداشتند و کارایشان این بود که حصه های برادران خود را به ایشان بدهند.

And I commanded Shelemiah the priest, and Zadok the scribe, and Pedaiah of the Levites be in charge of the storerooms. And next to them was Hanan the son of Zakkur, the son of Mattaniah, for they were considered trustworthy, and their responsibility was the distribution to their brothers.

۱۴ 14 ‌ای خدایم مرا درباره این کار بیاد آور وحسناتی را که برای خانه خدای خود و وظایف آن کرده‌ام محو مساز.

Remember me, my God, concerning this, and do not wipe out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for its observances.

۱۵ 15 در آن روزها، در یهودا بعضی را دیدم که چرخشتها را در روز سبت می‌فشردند و بافه هامی آوردند و الاغها را بار می‌کردند و شراب وانگور و انجیر و هر گونه حمل را نیز در روز سبت به اورشلیم می‌آوردند. پس ایشان را به‌سبب فروختن ماکولات در آن روز تهدید نمودم.

In those days I saw in Judah some men treading winepresses on the Sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and loading donkeys; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all kinds of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day in which they sold food.

۱۶ 16 وبعضی از اهل صور که در آنجا ساکن بودند، ماهی و هرگونه بضاعت می‌آوردند و در روز سبت، به بنی یهودا و اهل اورشلیم می‌فروختند.

There lived men of Tyre also in it, who brought in fish, and all kinds of wares, and sold on the Sabbath to the people of Judah, and in Jerusalem.

۱۷ 17 پس با بزرگان یهودا مشاجره نمودم و به ایشان گفتم: «این چه عمل زشت است که شمامی کنید و روز سبت را بی‌حرمت می‌نمایید؟

Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said to them, "What evil thing is this that you do, and profane the Sabbath day?

۱۸ 18 آیا پدران شما چنین نکردند و آیا خدای ما تمامی این بلا را بر ما و بر این شهر وارد نیاورد؟ وشما سبت را بی‌حرمت نموده، غضب را براسرائیل زیاد می‌کنید.»

Did not your fathers do thus, and did not our God bring all this disaster on us, and on this city? Yet you bring more wrath on Israel by profaning the Sabbath."

۱۹ 19 و هنگامی که دروازه های اورشلیم قبل از سبت سایه می‌افکند، امر فرمودم که دروازه‌ها را ببندند و قدغن کردم که آنها را تا بعد از سبت نگشایند و بعضی از خادمان خود را بر دروازه‌ها قرار دادم که هیچ بار در روزسبت آورده نشود.

It came to pass that, when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the Sabbath, I commanded that the doors should be shut, and commanded that they should not be opened until after the Sabbath. I set some of my servants over the gates, that no burden should be brought in on the Sabbath day.

۲۰ 20 پس سوداگران و فروشندگان هرگونه بضاعت، یک دو دفعه بیرون از اورشلیم شب رابسر بردند.

So the merchants and sellers of all kinds of wares lodged outside of Jerusalem once or twice.

۲۱ 21 اما من ایشان را تهدید کرده، گفتم: «شما چرا نزد دیوار شب را بسر می‌برید؟ اگر باردیگر چنین کنید، دست بر شما می‌اندازم.» پس ازآنوقت دیگر در روز سبت نیامدند.

Then I testified against them, and said to them, "Why do you stay around the wall? If you do so again, I will lay hands on you." From that time on, they did not come on the Sabbath.

۲۲ 22 و لاویان را امر فرمودم که خویشتن راتطهیر نمایند و آمده، دروازه‌ها را نگاهبانی کنندتا روز سبت تقدیس شود. ای خدایم این را نیزبرای من بیاد آور و برحسب کثرت رحمت خود، بر من ترحم فرما.

I commanded the Levites that they should purify themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the Sabbath day. Remember to me, my God, this also, and spare me according to the greatness of your loving kindness.

۲۳ 23 در آن روزها نیز بعضی یهودیان را دیدم، که زنان از اشدودیان و عمونیان و موآبیان گرفته بودند.

In those days also saw I the Jews who had married women of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab:

۲۴ 24 و نصف کلام پسران ایشان، در زبان اشدود می‌بود و به زبان یهود نمی توانستند به خوبی تکلم نمایند، بلکه به زبان این قوم و آن قوم.

and their children spoke half in the speech of Ashdod, and could not speak in the Jews' language, but according to the language of each people.

۲۵ 25 بنابراین با ایشان مشاجره نموده، ایشان را ملامت کردم و بعضی از ایشان را زدم و موی ایشان را کندم و ایشان را به خدا قسم داده، گفتم: «دختران خود را به پسران آنها مدهید و دختران آنها را به جهت پسران خود و به جهت خویشتن مگیرید.

I contended with them, and cursed them, and struck certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, "You shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor take their daughters for your sons, or for yourselves.

۲۶ 26 آیا سلیمان پادشاه اسرائیل در همین امر گناه نورزید با آنکه در امت های بسیارپادشاهی مثل او نبود؟ و اگر‌چه او محبوب خدای خود می‌بود و خدا او را به پادشاهی تمامی اسرائیل نصب کرده بود، زنان بیگانه او را نیزمرتکب گناه ساختند.

Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things? Yet among many nations was there no king like him, and he was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel. Nevertheless foreign women caused even him to sin.

۲۷ 27 پس آیا ما به شما گوش خواهیم گرفت که مرتکب این شرارت عظیم بشویم و زنان بیگانه گرفته، به خدای خویش خیانت ورزیم؟»

Shall we then listen to you to do all this great evil, to trespass against our God in marrying foreign women?"

۲۸ 28 و یکی از پسران یهویاداع بن الیاشیب رئیس کهنه، داماد سنبلط حورونی بود. پس او رااز نزد خود راندم.

One of the sons of Joiada, the son of Eliashib the high priest, was son-in-law to Sanballat the Horonite: therefore I chased him from me.

۲۹ 29 ‌ای خدای من ایشان را بیاد آور، زیرا که کهانت و عهد کهانت و لاویان را بی‌عصمت کرده‌اند.

Remember them, my God, because they have defiled the priesthood, and the covenant of the priests, and of the Levites.

۳۰ 30 پس من ایشان را از هر چیز بیگانه طاهرساختم و وظایف کاهنان و لاویان را برقرارنمودم که هر کس بر خدمت خود حاضر شود.

Thus I cleansed them from all foreigners, and appointed duties for the priests and for the Levites, everyone in his work;

۳۱ 31 و هدایای هیزم، در زمان معین و نوبرها رانیز. ای خدای من مرا به نیکویی بیاد آور.

and for the wood offering, at times appointed, and for the first fruits. Remember me, my God, for good.
