سوگنامه 3
| من آن مرد هستم که از عصای غضب وی مذلت دیده‌ام. | ۱ 1 |
I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
| او مرا رهبری نموده، به تاریکی در‌آورده است و نه به روشنایی. | ۲ 2 |
He hath led me and caused me to walk in darkness, and not in light.
| به درستی که دست خویش را تمامی روز به ضد من بارها برگردانیده است. | ۳ 3 |
Surely against me he turneth his hand again and again all the day.
| گوشت و پوست مرا مندرس ساخته واستخوانهایم را خرد کرده است. | ۴ 4 |
My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.
| به ضد من بنا نموده، مرا به تلخی و مشقت احاطه کرده است. | ۵ 5 |
He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.
| مرا مثل آنانی که از قدیم مرده‌اند در تاریکی نشانیده است. | ۶ 6 |
He hath made me to dwell in dark places, as those that have been long dead.
| گرد من حصار کشیده که نتوانم بیرون آمد وزنجیر مرا سنگین ساخته است. | ۷ 7 |
He hath walled me about, that I cannot go forth; he hath made my chain heavy.
| و نیز چون فریاد و استغاثه می‌نمایم دعای مرا منع می‌کند. | ۸ 8 |
Yea, when I cry, and call for help, he shutteth out my prayer.
| راههای مرا با سنگهای تراشیده سد کرده است و طریقهایم را کج نموده است. | ۹ 9 |
He hath walled up my ways with hewn stone; he hath made my paths crooked.
| او برای من خرسی است در کمین نشسته وشیری که در بیشه خود می‌باشد. | ۱۰ 10 |
He is unto me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in secret places.
| راه مرا منحرف ساخته، مرا دریده است ومرا مبهوت گردانیده است. | ۱۱ 11 |
He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces; he hath made me desolate.
| کمان خود را زه کرده، مرا برای تیرهای خویش، هدف ساخته است. | ۱۲ 12 |
He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
| و تیرهای ترکش خود را به گرده های من فرو برده است. | ۱۳ 13 |
He hath caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my reins.
| من به جهت تمامی قوم خود مضحکه وتمامی روز سرود ایشان شده‌ام. | ۱۴ 14 |
I am become a derision to all my people, and their song all the day.
| مرا به تلخیها سیر کرده و مرا به افسنتین مست گردانیده است. | ۱۵ 15 |
He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath sated me with wormwood.
| دندانهایم را به سنگ ریزها شکسته و مرا به خاکستر پوشانیده است. | ۱۶ 16 |
He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones; he hath covered me with ashes.
| تو جان مرا از سلامتی دور انداختی و من سعادتمندی را فراموش کردم، | ۱۷ 17 |
And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace; I forgat prosperity.
| و گفتم که قوت و امید من از یهوه تلف شده است. | ۱۸ 18 |
And I said, My strength is perished, and mine expectation from Jehovah.
| مذلت و شقاوت مرا افسنتین و تلخی به یادآور. | ۱۹ 19 |
Remember mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
| تو البته به یاد خواهی آورد زیرا که جان من در من منحنی شده است. | ۲۰ 20 |
My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is bowed down within me.
| و من آن را در دل خود خواهم گذرانید و ازاین سبب امیدوار خواهم بود. | ۲۱ 21 |
This I recall to my mind; therefore have I hope.
| از رافت های خداوند است که تلف نشدیم زیرا که رحمت های او بی‌زوال است. | ۲۲ 22 |
[It is of] Jehovah’s lovingkindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
| آنها هر صبح تازه می‌شود و امانت تو بسیاراست. | ۲۳ 23 |
They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.
| و جان من می‌گوید که خداوند نصیب من است، بنابراین بر او امیدوارم. | ۲۴ 24 |
Jehovah is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
| خداوند به جهت کسانی که بر او توکل دارند و برای آنانی که او را می‌طلبند نیکو است. | ۲۵ 25 |
Jehovah is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
| خوب است که انسان امیدوار باشد و باسکوت انتظار نجات خداوند را بکشد. | ۲۶ 26 |
It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Jehovah.
| برای انسان نیکو است که یوغ را در جوانی خود بردارد. | ۲۷ 27 |
It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.
| به تنهایی بنشیند و ساکت باشد زیرا که اوآن را بر وی نهاده است. | ۲۸ 28 |
Let him sit alone and keep silence, because he hath laid it upon him.
| دهان خود را بر خاک بگذارد که شاید امیدباشد. | ۲۹ 29 |
Let him put his mouth in the dust, if so be there may be hope.
| رخسار خود را به زنندگان بسپارد و ازخجالت سیر شود. | ۳۰ 30 |
Let him give his cheek to him that smiteth him; let him be filled full with reproach.
| زیرا خداوند تا به ابد او را ترک نخواهدنمود. | ۳۱ 31 |
For the Lord will not cast off for ever.
| زیرا اگر‌چه کسی را محزون سازد لیکن برحسب کثرت رافت خود رحمت خواهد فرمود. | ۳۲ 32 |
For though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
| چونکه بنی آدم را از دل خود نمی رنجاند ومحزون نمی سازد. | ۳۳ 33 |
For he doth not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men.
| تمامی اسیران زمین را زیر پا پایمال کردن، | ۳۴ 34 |
To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth,
| و منحرف ساختن حق انسان به حضورحضرت اعلی، | ۳۵ 35 |
To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the Most High,
| و منقلب نمودن آدمی در دعویش منظورخداوند نیست. | ۳۶ 36 |
To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.
| کیست که بگوید و واقع شود اگر خداوندامر نفرموده باشد. | ۳۷ 37 |
Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?
| آیا از فرمان حضرت اعلی هم بدی و هم نیکویی صادر نمی شود؟ | ۳۸ 38 |
Out of the mouth of the Most High cometh there not evil and good?
| پس چرا انسان تا زنده است و آدمی به‌سبب سزای گناهان خویش شکایت کند؟ | ۳۹ 39 |
Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
| راههای خود را تجسس و تفحص بنماییم و بسوی خداوند بازگشت کنیم. | ۴۰ 40 |
Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Jehovah.
| دلها و دستهای خویش را بسوی خدایی که در آسمان است برافرازیم، | ۴۱ 41 |
Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
| (و بگوییم ): «ما گناه کردیم و عصیان ورزیدیم و تو عفو نفرمودی. | ۴۲ 42 |
We have transgressed and have rebelled; thou hast not pardoned.
| خویشتن را به غضب پوشانیده، ما را تعاقب نمودی و به قتل رسانیده، شفقت نفرمودی. | ۴۳ 43 |
Thou hast covered with anger and pursued us; thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.
| خویشتن را به ابر غلیظ مستور ساختی، تادعای ما نگذرد. | ۴۴ 44 |
Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, so that no prayer can pass through.
| ما را در میان امت‌ها فضله و خاکروبه گردانیده‌ای.» | ۴۵ 45 |
Thou hast made us an offscouring and refuse in the midst of the peoples.
| تمامی دشمنان ما بر ما دهان خود رامی گشایند. | ۴۶ 46 |
All our enemies have opened their mouth wide against us.
| خوف و دام و هلاکت و خرابی بر ما عارض گردیده است. | ۴۷ 47 |
Fear and the pit are come upon us, devastation and destruction.
| به‌سبب هلاکت دختر قوم من، نهرهای آب از چشمانم می‌ریزد. | ۴۸ 48 |
Mine eye runneth down with streams of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
| چشم من بلا انقطاع جاری است و بازنمی ایستد. | ۴۹ 49 |
Mine eye poureth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,
| تا خداوند از آسمان ملاحظه نماید و ببیند. | ۵۰ 50 |
Till Jehovah look down, and behold from heaven.
| چشمانم به جهت جمیع دختران شهرم، جان مرا می‌رنجاند. | ۵۱ 51 |
Mine eye affecteth my soul, because of all the daughters of my city.
| آنانی که بی‌سبب دشمن منند مرا مثل مرغ بشدت تعاقب می‌نمایند. | ۵۲ 52 |
They have chased me sore like a bird, they that are mine enemies without cause.
| جان مرا در سیاه چال منقطع ساختند وسنگها بر من‌انداختند. | ۵۳ 53 |
They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and have cast a stone upon me.
| آبها از سر من گذشت پس گفتم: منقطع شدم. | ۵۴ 54 |
Waters flowed over my head; I said, I am cut off.
| آنگاه‌ای خداوند، از عمق های سیاه چال اسم تو را خواندم. | ۵۵ 55 |
I called upon thy name, O Jehovah, out of the lowest dungeon.
| آواز مرا شنیدی، پس گوش خود را از آه واستغاثه من مپوشان! | ۵۶ 56 |
Thou heardest my voice; hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.
| در روزی که تو را خواندم نزدیک شده، فرمودی که نترس. | ۵۷ 57 |
Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee; thou saidst, Fear not.
| ای خداوند دعوی جان مرا انجام داده و حیات مرا فدیه نموده‌ای! | ۵۸ 58 |
O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.
| ای خداوند ظلمی را که به من نموده انددیده‌ای پس مرا دادرسی فرما! | ۵۹ 59 |
O Jehovah, thou hast seen my wrong; judge thou my cause.
| تمامی کینه ایشان و همه تدبیرهایی را که به ضد من کردند دیده‌ای. | ۶۰ 60 |
Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their devices against me.
| ای خداوند مذمت ایشان را و همه تدبیرهایی را که به ضد من کردند شنیده‌ای! | ۶۱ 61 |
Thou hast heard their reproach, O Jehovah, and all their devices against me,
| سخنان مقاومت کنندگانم را و فکرهایی راکه تمامی روز به ضد من دارند (دانسته‌ای ). | ۶۲ 62 |
The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
| نشستن و برخاستن ایشان را ملاحظه فرمازیرا که من سرود ایشان شده‌ام. | ۶۳ 63 |
Behold thou their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their song.
| ای خداوند موافق اعمال دستهای ایشان مکافات به ایشان برسان. | ۶۴ 64 |
Thou wilt render unto them a recompense, O Jehovah, according to the work of their hands.
| غشاوه قلب به ایشان بده و لعنت تو برایشان باد! | ۶۵ 65 |
Thou wilt give them hardness of heart, thy curse unto them.
| ایشان را به غضب تعاقب نموده، از زیرآسمانهای خداوند هلاک کن. | ۶۶ 66 |
Thou wilt pursue them in anger, and destroy them from under the heavens of Jehovah.
