داوران 12

۱ 1 و مردان افرایم جمع شده، به طرف شمال گذشتند، و به یفتاح گفتند: «چرابرای جنگ کردنت با بنی عمون رفتی و ما رانطلبیدی تا همراه تو بیاییم؟ پس خانه تو را بر سرتو خواهیم سوزانید.»

And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire.

۲ 2 و یفتاح به ایشان گفت: «مرا و قوم مرا با بنی عمون جنگ سخت می‌بود، وچون شما را خواندم مرا از دست ایشان رهایی ندادید.

And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands.

۳ 3 پس چون دیدم که شما مرا رهایی نمی دهید جان خود را به‌دست خود گرفته، به سوی بنی عمون رفتم و خداوند ایشان را به‌دست من تسلیم نمود، پس چرا امروز نزد من برآمدید تابا من جنگ نمایید؟»

And when I saw that ye delivered me not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and YHWH delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me?

۴ 4 پس یفتاح تمامی مردان جلعاد را جمع کرده، با افرایم جنگ نمود و مردان جلعاد افرایم را شکست دادند، چونکه گفته بودندای اهل جلعاد شما فراریان افرایم در میان افرایم و در میان منسی هستید.

Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye Gileadites are fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, and among the Manassites.

۵ 5 و اهل جلعاد معبرهای اردن را پیش روی افرایم گرفتند و واقع شد که چون یکی از گریزندگان افرایم می‌گفت: «بگذارید عبور نمایم.» اهل جلعاد می‌گفتند: «آیاتو افرایمی هستی؟» و اگر می‌گفت نی،

And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it was so, that when those Ephraimites which were escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of Gilead said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay;

۶ 6 پس او رامی گفتند: بگو شبولت، و او می‌گفت سبولت، چونکه نمی توانست به درستی تلفظ نماید، پس او را گرفته، نزد معبرهای اردن می‌کشتند، و در آن وقت چهل و دو هزار نفر از افرایم کشته شدند.

Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.

۷ 7 و یفتاح بر اسرائیل شش سال داوری نمود. پس یفتاح جلعادی وفات یافته، در یکی ازشهرهای جلعاد دفن شد.

And Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then died Jephthah the Gileadite, and was buried in one of the cities of Gilead.

۸ 8 و بعد از او ابصان بیت لحمی بر اسرائیل داوری نمود.

And after him Ibzan of Bethlehem judged Israel.

۹ 9 و او را سی پسر بود و سی دختر که بیرون فرستاده بود و از بیرون سی دختر برای پسران خود آورد و هفت سال بر اسرائیل داوری نمود.

And he had thirty sons, and thirty daughters, whom he sent abroad, and took in thirty daughters from abroad for his sons. And he judged Israel seven years.

۱۰ 10 و ابصان مرد و در بیت لحم دفن شد.

Then died Ibzan, and was buried at Bethlehem.

۱۱ 11 وبعد از او ایلون زبولونی بر اسرائیل داوری نمود وداوری او بر اسرائیل ده سال بود.

And after him Elon, a Zebulonite, judged Israel; and he judged Israel ten years.

۱۲ 12 و ایلون زبولونی مرد و در ایلون در زمین زبولون دفن شد.

And Elon the Zebulonite died, and was buried in Aijalon in the country of Zebulun.

۱۳ 13 و بعد از او عبدون بن هلیل فرعتونی براسرائیل داوری نمود.

And after him Abdon the son of Hillel, a Pirathonite, judged Israel.

۱۴ 14 و او را چهل پسر و سی نواده بود، که بر هفتاد کره الاغ سوار می‌شدند وهشت سال بر اسرائیل داوری نمود.

And he had forty sons and thirty nephews, that rode on threescore and ten ass colts: and he judged Israel eight years.

۱۵ 15 و عبدون بن هلیل فرعتونی مرد و در فرعتون در زمین افرایم در کوهستان عمالیقیان دفن شد.

And Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite died, and was buried in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the mount of the Amalekites.
