| و بعد از وفات یوشع واقع شد که بنی‌اسرائیل از خداوند سوال کرده، گفتند: «کیست که برای ما بر کنعانیان، اول برآید و باایشان جنگ نماید؟» | ۱ 1 |
And it comes to pass after the death of Joshua, that the sons of Israel ask of YHWH, saying, “Who goes up for us to the Canaanite, at the commencement, to fight against it?”
| خداوند گفت: «یهودابرآید، اینک زمین را به‌دست او تسلیم کرده‌ام.» | ۲ 2 |
And YHWH says, “Judah goes up; behold, I have given the land into his hand.”
| و یهودا به برادر خود شمعون گفت: «به قرعه من همراه من برآی، و با کنعانیان جنگ کنیم، و من نیزهمراه تو به قرعه تو خواهم آمد.» پس شمعون همراه او رفت. | ۳ 3 |
And Judah says to his brother Simeon, “Go up with me into my lot, and we fight against the Canaanite—and I have gone, even I, with you into your lot”; and Simeon goes with him.
| و یهودا برآمد، و خداوندکنعانیان و فرزیان را به‌دست ایشان تسلیم نمود، وده هزار نفر از ایشان را در بازق کشتند. | ۴ 4 |
And Judah goes up, and YHWH gives the Canaanite and the Perizzite into their hand, and they strike them in Bezek—ten thousand men;
| و ادونی بازق را در بازق یافته، با او جنگ کردند، وکنعانیان و فرزیان را شکست دادند. | ۵ 5 |
and they find Adoni-Bezek in Bezek, and fight against him, and strike the Canaanite and the Perizzite.
| و ادونی بازق فرار کرد و او را تعاقب نموده، گرفتندش، وشستهای دست و پایش را بریدند. | ۶ 6 |
And Adoni-Bezek flees, and they pursue after him, and seize him, and cut off his thumbs and his great toes,
| و ادونی بازق گفت: «هفتاد ملک با شستهای دست و پا بریده زیر سفره من خورده‌ها برمی چیدند، موافق آنچه من کردم خدا به من مکافات رسانیده است.» پس او را به اورشلیم آوردند و در آنجامرد. | ۷ 7 |
and Adoni-Bezek says, “Seventy kings—their thumbs and their great toes cut off—have been gathering under my table; as I have done so God has repaid to me”; and they bring him to Jerusalem, and he dies there.
| و بنی یهودا با اورشلیم جنگ کرده، آن راگرفتند، و آن را به دم شمشیر زده، شهر را به آتش سوزانیدند. | ۸ 8 |
And the sons of Judah fight against Jerusalem, and capture it, and strike it by the mouth of the sword, and they have sent the city into fire;
| و بعد از آن بنی یهودا فرود شدند تابا کنعانیانی که در کوهستان و جنوب و بیابان ساکن بودند، جنگ کنند. | ۹ 9 |
and afterward the sons of Judah have gone down to fight against the Canaanite inhabiting the hill-country, and the south, and the low country;
| و یهودا بر کنعانیانی که در حبرون ساکن بودند برآمد، و اسم حبرون قبل از آن قریه اربع بود، و شیشای و اخیمان وتلمای را کشتند. | ۱۰ 10 |
and Judah goes to the Canaanite who is dwelling in Hebron (and the name of Hebron [was] formerly Kirjath-Arba), and they strike Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai.
| و از آنجا بر ساکنان دبیر برآمد و اسم دبیرقبل از آن، قریه سفیر بود. | ۱۱ 11 |
And he goes there to the inhabitants of Debir (and the name of Debir [was] formerly Kirjath-Sepher),
| و کالیب گفت: «آنکه قریه سفیر را زده، فتح نماید، دختر خود عکسه رابه او به زنی خواهم داد.» | ۱۲ 12 |
and Caleb says, “He who strikes Kirjath-Sepher and has captured it—then I have given my daughter Achsah to him for a wife.”
| و عتنیئیل بن قنازبرادر کوچک کالیب آن را گرفت، پس دختر خودعکسه را به او به زنی داد. | ۱۳ 13 |
And Othniel son of Kenaz, younger brother of Caleb, captures it, and he gives his daughter Achsah to him for a wife.
| و چون دختر نزد وی آمد او را ترغیب کرد که از پدرش زمینی طلب کند و آن دختر از الاغ خود پیاده شده، کالیب وی را گفت: «چه می‌خواهی؟» | ۱۴ 14 |
And it comes to pass in her coming in, that she persuades him to ask from her father the field, and she comes down off the donkey, and Caleb says to her, “What do you [want]?”
| به وی گفت: «مرابرکت ده زیرا که مرا در زمین جنوب ساکن گردانیدی، پس مرا چشمه های آب بده.» وکالیب چشمه های بالا و چشمه های پایین را به اوداد. | ۱۵ 15 |
And she says to him, “Give a blessing to me; when you have given me the south land—then you have given springs of water to me”; and Caleb gives the upper springs and the lower springs to her.
| و پسران قینی پدر زن موسی از شهرنخلستان همراه بنی یهودا به صحرای یهودا که به جنوب عراد است برآمده، رفتند و با قوم ساکن شدند. | ۱۶ 16 |
And the sons of the Kenite, father-in-law of Moses, have gone up out of the city of palms with the sons of Judah [to] the wilderness of Judah, which [is] in the south of Arad, and they go and dwell with the people.
| و یهودا همراه برادر خود شمعون رفت، و کنعانیانی را که در صفت ساکن بودند، شکست دادند، و آن را خراب کرده، اسم شهر راحرما نامیدند. | ۱۷ 17 |
And Judah goes with his brother Simeon, and they strike the Canaanite inhabiting Zephath, and devote it; and [one] calls the name of the city Hormah.
| و یهودا غزه و نواحی‌اش واشقلون و نواحی‌اش و عقرون و نواحی‌اش راگرفت. | ۱۸ 18 |
And Judah captures Gaza and its border, and Askelon and its border, and Ekron and its border;
| و خداوند با یهودا می‌بود، و او اهل کوهستان را بیرون کرد، لیکن ساکنان وادی رانتوانست بیرون کند، زیرا که ارابه های آهنین داشتند. | ۱۹ 19 |
and YHWH is with Judah, and he occupies the hill-country, but not to dispossess the inhabitants of the valley, for they have chariots of iron.
| و حبرون را برحسب قول موسی به کالیب دادند، و او سه پسر عناق را از آنجا بیرون کرد. | ۲۰ 20 |
And they give Hebron to Caleb, as Moses has spoken, and he dispossesses the three sons of Anak there.
| و بنی بنیامین یبوسیان را که در اورشلیم ساکن بودند بیرون نکردند، و یبوسیان بابنی بنیامین تا امروز در اورشلیم ساکنند. | ۲۱ 21 |
And the sons of Benjamin have not dispossessed the Jebusite inhabiting Jerusalem; and the Jebusite dwells with the sons of Benjamin, in Jerusalem, until this day.
| و خاندان یوسف نیز به بیت ئیل برآمدند، وخداوند با ایشان بود. | ۲۲ 22 |
And the house of Joseph goes up—even they—to Beth-El, and YHWH [is] with them;
| و خاندان یوسف بیت ئیل را جاسوسی کردند، و نام آن شهر قبل ازآن لوز بود. | ۲۳ 23 |
and the house of Joseph causes [men] to spy out Beth-El (and the name of the city [was] formerly Luz),
| و کشیکچیان مردی را که از شهربیرون می‌آمد دیده، به وی گفتند: «مدخل شهر رابه ما نشان بده که با تو احسان خواهیم نمود.» | ۲۴ 24 |
and the watchers see a man coming out from the city, and say to him, “Please show us the entrance of the city, and we have done kindness with you.”
| پس مدخل شهر را به ایشان نشان داده، پس شهر را به دم شمشیر زدند، و آن مرد را با تمامی خاندانش رها کردند. | ۲۵ 25 |
And he shows them the entrance of the city, and they strike the city by the mouth of the sword, and they have sent the man and all his family away;
| و آن مرد به زمین حتیان رفته، شهری بنا نمود و آن را لوز نامید که تا امروزاسمش همان است. | ۲۶ 26 |
and the man goes to the land of the Hittites, and builds a city, and calls its name Luz—it [is] its name to this day.
| و منسی اهل بیت‌شان و دهات آن را و اهل تعنک و دهات آن و ساکنان دور و دهات آن وساکنان یبلعام و دهات آن و ساکنان مجدو ودهات آن را بیرون نکرد، و کنعانیان عزیمت داشتند که در آن زمین ساکن باشند. | ۲۷ 27 |
And Manasseh has not occupied Beth-Shean and its towns, and Taanach and its towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Iblaim and its towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and its towns, and the Canaanite is desirous to dwell in that land;
| و چون اسرائیل قوی شدند، بر کنعانیان جزیه نهادند، لیکن ایشان را تمام بیرون نکردند. | ۲۸ 28 |
and it comes to pass, when Israel has been strong, that he sets the Canaanite to forced labor, and has not utterly dispossessed it.
| و افرایم کنعانیانی را که در جازر ساکن بودند، بیرون نکرد، پس کنعانیان در میان ایشان درجازر ساکن ماندند. | ۲۹ 29 |
And Ephraim has not dispossessed the Canaanite who is dwelling in Gezer, and the Canaanite dwells in its midst, in Gezer.
| و زبولون ساکنان فطرون وساکنان نهلول را بیرون نکرد، پس کنعانیان در میان ایشان ساکن ماندند، و جزیه بر آنها گذارده شد. | ۳۰ 30 |
Zebulun has not dispossessed the inhabitants of Kitron, and the inhabitants of Nahalol, and the Canaanite dwells in its midst, and they become forced labor.
| و اشیر ساکنان عکو و ساکنان صیدون واحلب و اکزیب و حلبه و عفیق و رحوب را بیرون نکرد. | ۳۱ 31 |
Asher has not dispossessed the inhabitants of Accho, and the inhabitants of Sidon, and Ahlab, and Achzib, and Helbah, and Aphik, and Rehob;
| پس اشیریان در میان کنعانیانی که ساکن آن زمین بودند سکونت گرفتند، زیرا که ایشان را بیرون نکردند. | ۳۲ 32 |
and the Asherite dwells in the midst of the Canaanite, the inhabitants of the land, for it has not dispossessed them.
| و نفتالی ساکنان بیت شمس و ساکنان بیت عنات را بیرون نکرد، پس در میان کنعانیانی که ساکن آن زمین بودند، سکونت گرفت. لیکن ساکنان بیت شمس و بیت عنات به ایشان جزیه می‌دادند. | ۳۳ 33 |
Naphtali has not dispossessed the inhabitants of Beth-Shemesh, and the inhabitants of Beth-Anath, and he dwells in the midst of the Canaanite, the inhabitants of the land; and the inhabitants of Beth-Shemesh and of Beth-Anath were for forced labor for them.
| و اموریان بنی دان را به کوهستان مسدودساختند زیرا که نگذاشتند که به بیابان فرود آیند. | ۳۴ 34 |
And the Amorites press the sons of Dan to the mountain, for they have not permitted them to go down to the valley;
| پس اموریان عزیمت داشتند که در ایلون وشعلبیم در کوه حارس ساکن باشند، و لیکن چون دست خاندان یوسف قوت گرفت، جزیه برایشان گذارده شد. | ۳۵ 35 |
and the Amorite is desirous to dwell in Mount Heres, in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim, and the hand of the house of Joseph is heavy, and they are for forced labor;
| و حد اموریان از سر بالای عقربیم و از سالع تا بالاتر بود. | ۳۶ 36 |
and the border of the Amorite [is] from the ascent of Akrabbim, from the rock and upward.
