یوشع 24

۱ 1 و یوشع تمامی اسباط اسرائیل را درشکیم جمع کرد، و مشایخ اسرائیل وروسا و داوران و ناظران ایشان را طلبیده، به حضور خدا حاضر شدند.

And Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called for the elders of Israel, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before God.

۲ 2 و یوشع به تمامی قوم گفت که «یهوه خدای اسرائیل چنین می‌گوید که پدران شما، یعنی طارح پدر ابراهیم و پدر ناحور، در زمان قدیم به آن طرف نهر ساکن بودند، وخدایان غیر را عبادت می‌نمودند.

And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt of old time beyond the River, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nahor: and they served other gods.

۳ 3 و پدر شماابراهیم را از آن طرف نهر گرفته، در تمامی زمین کنعان گردانیدم، و ذریت او را زیاد کردم و اسحاق را به او دادم.

And I took your father Abraham from beyond the River, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaac.

۴ 4 و یعقوب و عیسو را به اسحاق دادم، و کوه سعیر را به عیسو دادم تا ملکیت اوبشود، و یعقوب و پسرانش به مصر فرود شدند.

And I gave unto Isaac Jacob and Esau: and I gave unto Esau mount Seir, to possess it; and Jacob and his children went down into Egypt.

۵ 5 و موسی و هارون را فرستاده مصر را به آنچه دروسط آن کردم، مبتلا ساختم؛ پس شما را از آن بیرون آوردم.

And I sent Moses and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt, according to that which I did in the midst thereof: and afterward I brought you out.

۶ 6 و چون پدران شما را از مصر بیرون آوردم وبه دریا رسیدید، مصریان با ارابه‌ها و سواران، پدران شما را تا بحر قلزم تعاقب نمودند.

And I brought your fathers out of Egypt: and ye came unto the sea; and the Egyptians pursued after your fathers with chariots and with horsemen unto the Red Sea.

۷ 7 و چون نزد خداوند فریاد کردند، او در میان شما ومصریان تاریکی گذارد، و دریا را برایشان آورده، ایشان را پوشانید، و چشمان شما آنچه را در مصرکردم دید، پس روزهای بسیار در بیابان ساکن می‌بودید.

And when they cried out unto Jehovah, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes saw what I did in Egypt: and ye dwelt in the wilderness many days.

۸ 8 پس شما را در زمین اموریانی که به آن طرف اردن ساکن بودند آوردم، و با شما جنگ کردند، و ایشان را به‌دست شما تسلیم نمودم، وزمین ایشان را در تصرف آوردید، و ایشان را ازحضور شما هلاک ساختم.

And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, that dwelt beyond the Jordan: and they fought with you; and I gave them into your hand, and ye possessed their land; and I destroyed them from before you.

۹ 9 و بالاق بن صفور ملک موآب برخاسته، با اسرائیل جنگ کرد وفرستاده، بلعام بن بعور را طلبید تا شما را لعنت کند.

Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and fought against Israel: and he sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you;

۱۰ 10 و نخواستم که بلعام را بشنوم لهذا شما رابرکت همی داد و شما را از دست او رهانیدم.

but I would not hearken unto Balaam; therefore he blessed you still: so I delivered you out of his hand.

۱۱ 11 واز اردن عبور کرده، به اریحا رسیدید، و مردان اریحا یعنی اموریان و فرزیان و کنعانیان و حتیان و جرجاشیان و حویان و یبوسیان با شما جنگ کردند، و ایشان را به‌دست شما تسلیم نمودم.

And ye went over the Jordan, and came unto Jericho: and the men of Jericho fought against you, the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Girgashite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite; and I delivered them into your hand.

۱۲ 12 و زنبور را پیش شما فرستاده، ایشان، یعنی دوپادشاه اموریان را از حضور شما براندم، نه به شمشیر و نه به کمان شما.

And I sent the hornet before you, which drove them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; not with thy sword, nor with thy bow.

۱۳ 13 و زمینی که در آن زحمت نکشیدید، و شهرهایی را که بنا ننمودید، به شما دادم که در آنها ساکن می‌باشید و ازتاکستانها و باغات زیتون که نکاشتید، می‌خورید.

And I gave you a land whereon thou hadst not labored, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell therein; of vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat.

۱۴ 14 پس الان از یهوه بترسید، و او را به خلوص و راستی عبادت نمایید، و خدایانی را که پدران شما به آن طرف نهر و در مصر عبادت نمودند ازخود دور کرده، یهوه را عبادت نمایید.

Now therefore fear Jehovah, and serve him in sincerity and in truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River, and in Egypt; and serve ye Jehovah.

۱۵ 15 و اگردر نظر شما پسند نیاید که یهوه را عبادت نمایید، پس امروز برای خود اختیار کنید که را عبادت خواهید نمود، خواه خدایانی را که پدران شما که به آن طرف نهر بودند عبادت نمودند، خواه خدایان اموریانی را که شما در زمین ایشان ساکنید، و اما من و خاندان من، یهوه را عبادت خواهیم نمود.»

And if it seem evil unto you to serve Jehovah, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.

۱۶ 16 آنگاه قوم در جواب گفتند: «حاشا از ما که یهوه را ترک کرده، خدایان غیر را عبادت نماییم.

And the people answered and said, Far be it from us that we should forsake Jehovah, to serve other gods;

۱۷ 17 زیرا که یهوه، خدای ما، اوست که ما و پدران مارا از زمین مصر از خانه بندگی بیرون آورد، و این آیات بزرگ را در نظر ما نمود، و ما را در تمامی راه که رفتیم و در تمامی طوایفی که از میان ایشان گذشتیم، نگاه داشت.

for Jehovah our God, he it is that brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and that did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the peoples through the midst of whom we passed;

۱۸ 18 و یهوه تمامی طوایف، یعنی اموریانی را که در این زمین ساکن بودند ازپیش روی ما بیرون کرد، پس ما نیز یهوه را عبادت خواهیم نمود، زیرا که او خدای ماست.»

and Jehovah drove out from before us all the peoples, even the Amorites that dwelt in the land: therefore we also will serve Jehovah; for he is our God.

۱۹ 19 پس یوشع به قوم گفت: «نمی توانید یهوه راعبادت کنید زیرا که او خدای قدوس است و اوخدای غیور است که عصیان و گناهان شما رانخواهد آمرزید.

And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve Jehovah; for he is a holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgression nor your sins.

۲۰ 20 اگر یهوه را ترک کرده، خدایان غیر را عبادت نمایید، آنگاه او خواهدبرگشت و به شما ضرر رسانیده، بعد از آنکه به شما احسان نموده است، شما را هلاک خواهدکرد.»

If ye forsake Jehovah, and serve foreign gods, then he will turn and do you evil, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.

۲۱ 21 قوم به یوشع گفتند: «نی بلکه یهوه راعبادت خواهیم نمود.»

And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve Jehovah.

۲۲ 22 یوشع به قوم گفت: «شما برخود شاهد هستید که یهوه را برای خوداختیار نموده‌اید تا او را عبادت کنید.» گفتند: «شاهد هستیم.»

And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you Jehovah, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.

۲۳ 23 (گفت ): «پس الان خدایان غیررا که در میان شما هستند دور کنید، و دلهای خودرا به یهوه، خدای اسرائیل، مایل سازید.»

Now therefore put away, [said he], the foreign gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto Jehovah, the God of Israel.

۲۴ 24 قوم به یوشع گفتند: «یهوه خدای خود را عبادت خواهیم نمود و آواز او را اطاعت خواهیم کرد.»

And the people said unto Joshua, Jehovah our God will we serve, and unto his voice will we hearken.

۲۵ 25 پس در آن روز یوشع با قوم عهد بست و برای ایشان فریضه و شریعتی در شکیم قرار داد.

So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.

۲۶ 26 ویوشع این سخنان را در کتاب تورات خدا نوشت و سنگی بزرگ گرفته، آن را در آنجا زیر درخت بلوطی که نزد قدس خداوند بود برپا داشت.

And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God; and he took a great stone, and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of Jehovah.

۲۷ 27 ویوشع به تمامی قوم گفت: «اینک این سنگ برای ما شاهد است، زیرا که تمامی سخنان خداوند را که به ما گفت، شنیده است؛ پس برای شما شاهدخواهد بود، مبادا خدای خود را انکار نمایید.»

And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us; for it hath heard all the words of Jehovah which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness against you, lest ye deny your God.

۲۸ 28 پس یوشع، قوم یعنی هر کس را به ملک خودروانه نمود.

So Joshua sent the people away, every man unto his inheritance.

۲۹ 29 و بعد از این امور واقع شد که یوشع بن نون، بنده خداوند، چون صد و ده ساله بود، مرد.

And it came to pass after these things, that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Jehovah, died, being a hundred and ten years old.

۳۰ 30 و او را در حدود ملک خودش در تمنه سارح که در کوهستان افرایم به طرف شمال کوه جاعش است، دفن کردند.

And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-serah, which is in the hill-country of Ephraim, on the north of the mountain of Gaash.

۳۱ 31 و اسرائیل در همه ایام یوشع و همه روزهای مشایخی که بعد از یوشع زنده ماندند وتمام عملی که خداوند برای اسرائیل کرده بوددانستند، خداوند را عبادت نمودند.

And Israel served Jehovah all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, and had known all the work of Jehovah, that he had wrought for Israel.

۳۲ 32 واستخوانهای یوسف را که بنی‌اسرائیل از مصرآورده بودند در شکیم، در حصه زمینی که یعقوب از بنی حمور، پدر شکیم به صد قسیطه خریده بود، دفن کردند، و آن ملک بنی یوسف شد.

And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem, in the parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for a hundred pieces of money: and they became the inheritance of the children of Joseph.

۳۳ 33 و العازار بن هارون مرد، و او را در تل پسرش فینحاس که در کوهستان افرایم به او داده شد، دفن کردند.

And Eleazar the son of Aaron died; and they buried him in the hill of Phinehas his son, which was given him in the hill-country of Ephraim.
