ایّوب 37

۱ 1 «از این نیز دل می‌لرزد و از جای خودمتحرک می‌گردد.

At this also my heart trembles, and is moved out of his place.

۲ 2 گوش داده، صدای آواز او را بشنوید، و زمزمه‌ای را که از دهان وی صادر می‌شود،

Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goes out of his mouth.

۳ 3 آن را در زیر تمامی آسمانهامی فرستد، و برق خویش را تا کرانهای زمین.

He directs it under the whole heaven, and his lightning to the ends of the earth.

۴ 4 بعد از آن صدای غرش می‌کند و به آواز جلال خویش رعد می‌دهد و چون آوازش شنیده شدآنها را تاخیر نمی نماید.

After it a voice roars: he thunders with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.

۵ 5 خدا از آواز خودرعدهای عجیب می‌دهد. اعمال عظیمی که ماآنها را ادراک نمی کنیم به عمل می‌آورد،

God thunders marvelously with his voice; great things does he, which we cannot comprehend.

۶ 6 زیرابرف را می‌گوید: بر زمین بیفت. و همچنین بارش باران را و بارش بارانهای زورآور خویش را.

For he says to the snow, Be you on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.

۷ 7 دست هر انسان را مختوم می‌سازد تا جمیع مردمان اعمال او را بدانند.

He seals up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.

۸ 8 آنگاه وحوش به ماوای خود می‌روند و در بیشه های خویش آرام می‌گیرند.

Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.

۹ 9 از برجهای جنوب گردباد می‌آید و ازبرجهای شمال برودت.

Out of the south comes the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.

۱۰ 10 از نفخه خدا یخ بسته می‌شود و سطح آبها منجمد می‌گردد.

By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.

۱۱ 11 ابرها رانیز به رطوبت سنگین می‌سازد و سحاب، برق خود را پراکنده می‌کند.

Also by watering he wearies the thick cloud: he scatters his bright cloud:

۱۲ 12 و آنها به دلالت او به هر سو منقلب می‌شوند تا هرآنچه به آنها امرفرماید بر روی تمامی ربع مسکون به عمل آورند.

And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatever he commands them on the face of the world in the earth.

۱۳ 13 خواه آنها را برای تادیب بفرستد یا به جهت زمین خود یا برای رحمت.

He causes it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.

۱۴ 14 «ای ایوب این را استماع نما. بایست و دراعمال عجیب خدا تامل کن.

Listen to this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

۱۵ 15 آیا مطلع هستی وقتی که خدا عزم خود را به آنها قرار می‌دهد وبرق، ابرهای خود را درخشان می‌سازد؟

Do you know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?

۱۶ 16 آیا تواز موازنه ابرها مطلع هستی؟ یا از اعمال عجیبه اوکه در علم، کامل است.

Do you know the balancing of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?

۱۷ 17 که چگونه رختهای توگرم می‌شود هنگامی که زمین از باد جنوبی ساکن می‌گردد.

How your garments are warm, when he quiets the earth by the south wind?

۱۸ 18 آیا مثل او می‌توانی فلک رابگسترانی که مانند آینه ریخته شده مستحکم است؟

Have you with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?

۱۹ 19 ما را تعلیم بده که با وی چه توانیم گفت، زیرا به‌سبب تاریکی سخن نیکو نتوانیم آورد.

Teach us what we shall say to him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.

۲۰ 20 آیا چون سخن گویم به او خبر داده می‌شود یاانسان سخن گوید تا هلاک گردد.

Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.

۲۱ 21 و حال آفتاب را نمی توان دید هرچند در سپهر درخشان باشد تاباد وزیده آن را پاک کند.

And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passes, and cleans them.

۲۲ 22 درخشندگی طلایی از شمال می‌آید و نزد خدا جلال مهیب است.

Fair weather comes out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.

۲۳ 23 قادر مطلق را ادراک نمی توانیم کرد، او در قوت وراستی عظیم است و در عدالت کبیر که بی‌انصافی نخواهد کرد.

Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

۲۴ 24 لهذا مردمان از او می‌ترسند، امااو بر جمیع دانادلان نمی نگرد.»

Men do therefore fear him: he respects not any that are wise of heart.
