ایّوب 30

۱ 1 «و اما الان کسانی که از من خردسالترندبر من استهزا می‌کنند، که کراهت می‌داشتم از اینکه پدران ایشان را با سگان گله خود بگذارم.

BUT now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock.

۲ 2 قوت دستهای ایشان نیز برای من چه فایده داشت؟ کسانی که توانایی ایشان ضایع شده بود،

Yea, whereto might the strength of their hands profit me, in whom old age was perished?

۳ 3 از احتیاج و قحطی بی‌تاب شده، زمین خشک را در ظلمت خرابی و ویرانی می‌خاییدند.

For want and famine they were solitary; fleeing into the wilderness in former time desolate and waste.

۴ 4 خبازی را در میان بوته‌ها می‌چیدند، و ریشه شورگیاه نان ایشان بود.

Who cut up mallows by the bushes, and juniper roots for their meat.

۵ 5 از میان (مردمان ) رانده می‌شدند. از عقب ایشان مثل دزدان، هیاهومی کردند.

They were driven forth from among men, (they cried after them as after a thief; )

۶ 6 در گریوه های وادیها ساکن می‌شدند. در حفره های زمین و در صخره‌ها.

To dwell in the clifts of the valleys, in caves of the earth, and in the rocks.

۷ 7 در میان بوته‌ها عرعر می‌کردند، زیر خارها با هم جمع می‌شدند.

Among the bushes they brayed; under the nettles they were gathered together.

۸ 8 ابنای احمقان و ابنای مردم بی‌نام، بیرون از زمین رانده می‌گردیدند.

They were children of fools, yea, children of base men: they were viler than the earth.

۹ 9 و اما الان سرود ایشان شده‌ام و از برای ایشان ضرب‌المثل گردیده‌ام.

And now am I their song, yea, I am their byword.

۱۰ 10 مرا مکروه داشته، از من دورمی شوند، و از آب دهان بر رویم انداختن، بازنمی ایستند.

They abhor me, they flee far from me, and spare not to spit in my face.

۱۱ 11 چونکه زه را بر من باز کرده، مرامبتلا ساخت. پس لگام را پیش رویم رها کردند.

Because he hath loosed my cord, and afflicted me, they have also let loose the bridle before me.

۱۲ 12 از طرف راست من انبوه عوام الناس برخاسته، پاهایم را از پیش در می‌برند، و راههای هلاکت خویش را بر من مهیا می‌سازند.

Upon my right hand rise the youth; they push away my feet, and they raise up against me the ways of their destruction.

۱۳ 13 راه مرا خراب کرده، به اذیتم اقدام می‌نمایند، و خود معاونی ندارند.

They mar my path, they set forward my calamity, they have no helper.

۱۴ 14 گویا از ثلمه های وسیع می‌آیند، و ازمیان خرابه‌ها بر من هجوم می‌آورند.

They came upon me as a wide breaking in of waters: in the desolation they rolled themselves upon me.

۱۵ 15 ترسها برمن برگشته، آبروی مرا مثل باد تعاقب می‌کنند، و فیروزی من مثل ابر می‌گذرد.

Terrors are turned upon me: they pursue my soul as the wind: and my welfare passeth away as a cloud.

۱۶ 16 و الان جانم بر من ریخته شده است، و روزهای مصیبت، مرا گرفتارنموده است.

And now my soul is poured out upon me; the days of affliction have taken hold upon me.

۱۷ 17 شبانگاه استخوانهایم در اندرون من سفته می‌شود، و پیهایم آرام ندارد.

My bones are pierced in me in the night season: and my sinews take no rest.

۱۸ 18 ازشدت سختی لباسم متغیر شده است، و مرا مثل گریبان پیراهنم تنگ می‌گیرد.

By the great force of my disease is my garment changed: it bindeth me about as the collar of my coat.

۱۹ 19 مرا در گل انداخته است، که مثل خاک و خاکستر گردیده‌ام.

He hath cast me into the mire, and I am become like dust and ashes.

۲۰ 20 «نزد تو تضرع می‌نمایم و مرا مستجاب نمی کنی، و برمی خیزم و بر من نظر نمی اندازی.

I cry unto thee, and thou dost not hear me: I stand up, and thou regardest me not.

۲۱ 21 خویشتن را متبدل ساخته، بر من بیرحم شده‌ای، با قوت دست خود به من جفا می‌نمایی.

Thou art become cruel to me: with thy strong hand thou opposest thyself against me.

۲۲ 22 مرا به باد برداشته، برآن سوار گردانیدی، و مرادر تندباد پراکنده ساختی.

Thou liftest me up to the wind; thou causest me to ride upon it, and dissolvest my substance.

۲۳ 23 زیرا می‌دانم که مرابه موت باز خواهی گردانید، و به خانه‌ای که برای همه زندگان معین است.

For I know that thou wilt bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all living.

۲۴ 24 یقین بر توده ویران دست خود را دراز نخواهد کرد، و چون کسی دربلا گرفتار شود، آیا به این سبب استغاثه نمی کند؟

Howbeit he will not stretch out his hand to the grave, though they cry in his destruction.

۲۵ 25 آیا برای هر مستمندی گریه نمی کردم، و دلم به جهت مسکین رنجیده نمی شد.

Did not I weep for him that was in trouble? was not my soul grieved for the poor?

۲۶ 26 لکن چون امید نیکویی داشتم بدی آمد، و چون انتظار نورکشیدم ظلمت رسید.

When I looked for good, then evil came unto me: and when I waited for light, there came darkness.

۲۷ 27 احشایم می‌جوشد وآرام نمی گیرد، و روزهای مصیبت مرا درگرفته است.

My bowels boiled, and rested not: the days of affliction prevented me.

۲۸ 28 ماتم‌کنان بی‌آفتاب گردش می‌کنم و درجماعت برخاسته، تضرع می‌نمایم.

I went mourning without the sun: I stood up, and I cried in the congregation.

۲۹ 29 برادرشغالان شده‌ام، و رفیق شترمرغ گردیده‌ام.

I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls.

۳۰ 30 پوست من سیاه گشته، از من می‌ریزد، واستخوانهایم از حرارت سوخته گردیده است.

My skin is black upon me, and my bones are burned with heat.

۳۱ 31 بربط من به نوحه گری مبدل شده و نای من به آواز گریه کنندگان.

My harp also is turned to mourning, and my organ into the voice of them that weep.
