ایّوب 24

۱ 1 «چونکه زمانها از قادرمطلق مخفی نیست. پس چرا عارفان او ایام او راملاحظه نمی کنند؟

Why are times not laid up by the Almighty? And why do not they that know Him see His days?

۲ 2 بعضی هستند که حدود رامنتقل می‌سازند و گله‌ها را غصب نموده، می‌چرانند.

There are that remove the landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and feed them.

۳ 3 الاغهای یتیمان را می‌رانند و گاوبیوه‌زنان را به گرو می‌گیرند.

They drive away the ass of the fatherless, they take the widow's ox for a pledge.

۴ 4 فقیران را از راه منحرف می‌سازند، و مسکینان زمین جمیع خویشتن را پنهان می‌کنند.

They turn the needy out of the way; the poor of the earth hide themselves together.

۵ 5 اینک مثل خروحشی به جهت کار خود به بیابان بیرون رفته، خوراک خود را می‌جویند و صحرا به ایشان نان برای فرزندان ایشان می‌رساند.

Behold, as wild asses in the wilderness they go forth to their work, seeking diligently for food; the desert yieldeth them bread for their children.

۶ 6 علوفه خود را درصحرا درو می‌کنند و تاکستان شریران راخوشه چینی می‌نمایند.

They cut his provender in the field; and they despoil the vineyard of the wicked.

۷ 7 برهنه و بی‌لباس شب رابه‌سر می‌برند و در سرما پوششی ندارند.

They lie all night naked without clothing, and have no covering in the cold.

۸ 8 ازباران کوهها تر می‌شوند و از عدم پناهگاه، صخره‌ها را در بغل می‌گیرند

They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for want of a shelter.

۹ 9 و کسانی هستند که یتیم را از پستان می‌ربایند و از فقیر گرو می‌گیرند.

There are that pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of the poor;

۱۰ 10 پس ایشان بی‌لباس و برهنه راه می‌روند وبافه‌ها را برمی دارند و گرسنه می‌مانند.

So that they go about naked without clothing, and being hungry they carry the sheaves;

۱۱ 11 دردروازه های آنها روغن می‌گیرند و چرخشت آنهارا پایمال می‌کنند و تشنه می‌مانند.

They make oil within the rows of these men; they tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst.

۱۲ 12 ازشهرآباد، نعره می‌زنند و جان مظلومان استغاثه می‌کند. اما خدا حماقت آنها را به نظر نمی آورد.

From out of the populous city men groan, and the soul of the wounded crieth out; yet God imputeth it not for unseemliness.

۱۳ 13 «و دیگرانند که از نور متمردند و راه آن رانمی دانند. و در طریق هایش سلوک نمی نمایند.

These are of them that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.

۱۴ 14 قاتل در صبح برمی خیزد و فقیر و مسکین رامی کشد. و در شب مثل دزد می‌شود.

The murderer riseth with the light, to kill the poor and needy; and in the night he is as a thief.

۱۵ 15 چشم زناکار نیز برای شام انتظار می‌کشد و می‌گوید که چشمی مرا نخواهد دید، و بر روی خود پرده می‌کشد.

The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying: 'No eye shall see me'; and he putteth a covering on his face.

۱۶ 16 در تاریکی به خانه‌ها نقب می‌زنند ودر روز، خویشتن را پنهان می‌کنند و روشنایی رانمی دانند،

In the dark they dig through houses; they shut themselves up in the day-time; they know not the light.

۱۷ 17 زیرا صبح برای جمیع ایشان مثل سایه موت است، چونکه ترسهای سایه موت رامی دانند.

For the shadow of death is to all of them as the morning; for they know the terrors of the shadow of death.

۱۸ 18 آنها بر روی آبها سبک‌اند و نصیب ایشان بر زمین ملعون است، و به راه تاکستان مراجعت نمی کنند.

He is swift upon the face of the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth; he turneth not by the way of the vineyards.

۱۹ 19 چنانکه خشکی و گرمی آب برف را نابود می‌سازد، همچنین هاویه خطاکاران را. (Sheol h7585)

Drought and heat consume the snow waters; so doth the nether-world those that have sinned. (Sheol h7585)

۲۰ 20 رحم (مادرش ) او را فراموش می‌نماید و کرم، او را نوش می‌کند. و دیگر مذکورنخواهد شد، و شرارت مثل درخت بریده خواهدشد.

The womb forgetteth him; the worm feedeth sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and unrighteousness is broken as a tree.

۲۱ 21 زن عاقر را که نمی زاید می‌بلعد و به زن بیوه احسان نمی نماید،

He devoureth the barren that beareth not; and doeth not good to the widow.

۲۲ 22 و اما خدا جباران را به قوت خود محفوظ می‌دارد. برمی خیزند اگرچه امید زندگی ندارند،

He draweth away the mighty also by his power; he riseth up, and he trusteth not his own life.

۲۳ 23 ایشان را اطمینان می‌بخشد و بر آن تکیه می‌نمایند، اما چشمان اوبر راههای ایشان است.

Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he resteth, yet His eyes are upon their ways.

۲۴ 24 اندک زمانی بلندمی شوند، پس نیست می‌گردند و پست شده، مثل سایرین برده می‌شوند و مثل سر سنبله‌ها بریده می‌گردند،

They are exalted for a little while, and they are gone; yea, they are brought low, they are gathered in as all others, and wither as the tops of the ears of corn.

۲۵ 25 و اگر چنین نیست پس کیست که مراتکذیب نماید و کلام مرا ناچیز گرداند؟»

And if it be not so now, who will prove me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?
