ایّوب 13

۱ 1 «اینک چشم من همه این چیزها رادیده، و گوش من آنها را شنیده وفهمیده است.

Lo, mine eye hath seen all [this], mine ear hath heard and understood it.

۲ 2 چنانکه شما می‌دانید من هم می‌دانم. و من کمتر از شما نیستم.

What ye know, [the same] do I know also: I am not inferior unto you.

۳ 3 لیکن می‌خواهم با قادر مطلق سخن گویم. و آرزو دارم که با خدا محاجه نمایم.

Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.

۴ 4 اما شما دروغها جعل می‌کنید، و جمیع شما طبیبان باطل هستید.

But ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value.

۵ 5 کاش که شما به کلی ساکت می‌شدید که این برای شما حکمت می‌بود.

Oh that ye would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom.

۶ 6 پس حجت مرابشنوید. و دعوی لبهایم را گوش گیرید.

Hear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.

۷ 7 آیابرای خدا به بی‌انصافی سخن خواهید راند؟ و به جهت او با فریب تکلم خواهید نمود؟

Will ye speak unrighteously for God, and talk deceitfully for him?

۸ 8 آیا برای او طرف داری خواهید نمود؟ و به جهت خدادعوی خواهید کرد؟

Will ye respect his person? will ye contend for God?

۹ 9 آیا نیکو است که او شما راتفتیش نماید؟ یا چنانکه انسان را مسخره می‌نمایند او را مسخره می‌سازید.

Is it good that he should search you out? or as one deceiveth a man, will ye deceive him?

۱۰ 10 البته شما را توبیخ خواهد کرد. اگر در خفا طرف داری نمایید.

He will surely reprove you, if ye do secretly respect persons.

۱۱ 11 آیا جلال او شما را هراسان نخواهد ساخت؟ و هیبت او بر شما مستولی نخواهد شد؟

Shall not his excellency make you afraid, and his dread fall upon you?

۱۲ 12 ذکرهای شما، مثل های غبار است. وحصارهای شما، حصارهای گل است.

Your memorable sayings [are] proverbs of ashes, your defences [are] defences of clay.

۱۳ 13 «از من ساکت شوید و من سخن خواهم گفت. و هرچه خواهد، بر من واقع شود.

Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what wilt.

۱۴ 14 چراگوشت خود را با دندانم بگیرم و جان خود را دردستم بنهم؟

Wherefore should I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in mine hand?

۱۵ 15 اگرچه مرا بکشد، برای او انتظارخواهم کشید. لیکن راه خود را به حضور او ثابت خواهم ساخت.

Though he slay me, yet will I wait for him: nevertheless I will maintain my ways before him.

۱۶ 16 این نیز برای من نجات خواهدشد. زیرا ریاکار به حضور او حاضر نمی شود.

This also shall be my salvation; for a godless man shall not come before him.

۱۷ 17 بشنوید! سخنان مرا بشنوید. و دعوی من به گوشهای شما برسد.

Hear diligently my speech, and let my declaration be in your ears.

۱۸ 18 اینک الان دعوی خود رامرتب ساختم. و می‌دانم که عادل شمرده خواهم شد.

Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I am righteous.

۱۹ 19 کیست که بامن مخاصمه کند؟ پس خاموش شده جان را تسلیم خواهم کرد.

Who is he that will contend with me? for now shall I hold my peace and give up the ghost.

۲۰ 20 فقطدو چیز به من مکن. آنگاه خود را از حضور توپنهان نخواهم ساخت.

Only do not two things unto me, then will I not hide myself from thy face:

۲۱ 21 دست خود را از من دورکن. و هیبت تو مرا هراسان نسازد.

Withdraw thine hand far from me; and let not thy terror make me afraid.

۲۲ 22 آنگاه بخوان و من جواب خواهم داد، یا اینکه من بگویم و مراجواب بده.

Then call thou, and I will answer; or let me speak, and answer thou me.

۲۳ 23 خطایا و گناهانم چقدر است؟ تقصیر و گناه مرا به من بشناسان.

How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.

۲۴ 24 چرا روی خود را از من می‌پوشانی؟ و مرا دشمن خودمی شماری؟

Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine enemy?

۲۵ 25 آیا برگی را که از باد رانده شده است می‌گریزانی؟ و کاه خشک را تعاقب می‌کنی؟

Wilt thou harass a driven leaf? and wilt thou pursue the dry stubble?

۲۶ 26 زیرا که چیزهای تلخ را به ضد من می‌نویسی، و گناهان جوانی‌ام را نصیب من می‌سازی.

For thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to inherit the iniquities of my youth:

۲۷ 27 و پایهای مرا در کنده می‌گذاری، وجمیع راههایم را نشان می‌کنی و گرد کف پاهایم خط می‌کشی؛

Thou puttest my feet also in the stocks, and markest all my paths; thou drawest thee a line about the soles of my feet:

۲۸ 28 و حال آنکه مثل چیز گندیده فاسد، و مثل جامه بید خورده هستم.

Though I am like a rotten thing that consumeth, like a garment that is moth-eaten.
