ایّوب 11

۱ 1 و صوفر نعماتی در جواب گفت:

Then Zophar, the Naamathite, answered,

۲ 2 «آیابه کثرت سخنان جواب نباید داد و مردپرگو عادل شمرده شود؟

“Shouldn’t the multitude of words be answered? Should a man full of talk be justified?

۳ 3 آیا بیهوده‌گویی تومردمان را ساکت کند و یا سخریه کنی و کسی تورا خجل نسازد؟

Should your boastings make men hold their peace? When you mock, will no man make you ashamed?

۴ 4 و می‌گویی تعلیم من پاک است، و من در نظر تو بی‌گناه هستم.

For you say, ‘My doctrine is pure. I am clean in your eyes.’

۵ 5 و لیکن کاش که خدا سخن بگوید و لبهای خود را بر تو بگشاید،

But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against you,

۶ 6 و اسرار حکمت را برای تو بیان کند. زیرا که درماهیت خود دو طرف دارد. پس بدان که خدا کمتراز گناهانت تو را سزا داده است.

that he would show you the secrets of wisdom! For true wisdom has two sides. Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves.

۷ 7 آیا عمق های خدا را می‌توانی دریافت نمود؟ یا به کنه قادرمطلق توانی رسید؟

“Can you fathom the mystery of God? Or can you probe the limits of the Almighty?

۸ 8 مثل بلندیهای آسمان است؛ چه خواهی کرد؟ گودتر از هاویه است؛ چه توانی دانست؟ (Sheol h7585)

They are high as heaven. What can you do? They are deeper than Sheol. What can you know? (Sheol h7585)

۹ 9 پیمایش آن از جهان طویل تر واز دریا پهن تر است.

Its measure is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

۱۰ 10 اگر سخت بگیرد و حبس نماید و به محاکمه دعوت کند کیست که او راممانعت نماید؟

If he passes by, or confines, or convenes a court, then who can oppose him?

۱۱ 11 زیرا که بطالت مردم را می‌داندو شرارت را می‌بیند اگرچه در آن تامل نکند.

For he knows false men. He sees iniquity also, even though he doesn’t consider it.

۱۲ 12 ومرد جاهل آنوقت فهیم می‌شود که بچه خروحشی، انسان متولد شود.

An empty-headed man becomes wise when a man is born as a wild donkey’s colt.

۱۳ 13 اگر تو دل خود راراست سازی و دستهای خود را بسوی او درازکنی،

“If you set your heart aright, stretch out your hands toward him.

۱۴ 14 اگر در دست تو شرارت باشد، آن را ازخود دور کن، و بی‌انصافی در خیمه های تو ساکن نشود.

If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away. Don’t let unrighteousness dwell in your tents.

۱۵ 15 پس یقین روی خود را بی‌عیب برخواهی افراشت، و مستحکم شده، نخواهی ترسید.

Surely then you will lift up your face without spot. Yes, you will be steadfast, and will not fear,

۱۶ 16 زیرا که مشقت خود را فراموش خواهی کرد، و آن را مثل آب رفته به یاد خواهی آورد،

for you will forget your misery. You will remember it like waters that have passed away.

۱۷ 17 و روزگار تو از وقت ظهر روشن ترخواهد شد، و اگرچه تاریکی باشد، مثل صبح خواهد گشت.

Life will be clearer than the noonday. Though there is darkness, it will be as the morning.

۱۸ 18 و مطمئن خواهی بود چونکه امید داری، و اطراف خود را تجسس نموده، ایمن خواهی خوابید.

You will be secure, because there is hope. Yes, you will search, and will take your rest in safety.

۱۹ 19 و خواهی خوابید وترساننده‌ای نخواهد بود، و بسیاری تو راتملق خواهند نمود.

Also you will lie down, and no one will make you afraid. Yes, many will court your favor.

۲۰ 20 لیکن چشمان شریران کاهیده می‌شود و ملجای ایشان از ایشان نابود می‌گردد و امید ایشان جان کندن ایشان است.»

But the eyes of the wicked will fail. They will have no way to flee. Their hope will be the giving up of the spirit.”
