ارمیا 41

۱ 1 و در ماه هفتم واقع شد که اسماعیل بن نتنیا ابن الیشاماع که از نسل پادشاهان بود با بعضی از روسای پادشاه و ده نفر همراهش نزد جدلیا ابن اخیقام به مصفه آمدند و آنجا درمصفه با هم نان خوردند.

And it was don in the seuenthe monethe, Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, sone of Elisama, of the kingis seed, and the principal men of the kyng, and ten men with hym, camen to Godolie, the sone of Aicham, in Masphath; and thei eeten there looues togidere in Masphath.

۲ 2 و اسماعیل بن نتنیا وآن ده نفر که همراهش بودند برخاسته، جدلیا ابن اخیقام بن شافان را به شمشیر زدند و او را که پادشاه بابل به حکومت زمین نصب کرده بودکشت.

Forsothe Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, and the ten men that weren with hym, risiden vp, and killiden bi swerd Godolie, the sone of Aicham, sone of Saphan; and thei killiden hym, whom the kyng of Babiloyne hadde maad souereyn of the lond.

۳ 3 و اسماعیل تمامی یهودیانی را که همراه او یعنی با جدلیا در مصفه بودند و کلدانیانی را که در آنجا یافت شدند و مردان جنگی را کشت.

Also Ismael killide alle the Jewis, that weren with Godolie in Masphath, and the Caldeis, that weren foundun there, and the men werriours.

۴ 4 و در روز دوم بعد از آنکه جدلیا را کشته بودو کسی از آن اطلاع نیافته بود،

Forsothe in the secounde dai, aftir that he hadde slayn Godolie, while no man wiste yit,

۵ 5 هشتاد نفر با ریش تراشیده و گریبان دریده و بدن خراشیده هدایا وبخور با خود آورده، از شکیم و شیلوه و سامره آمدند تا به خانه خداوند ببرند.

foure scoor men with schauen beerdis, and to-rent clothis, and pale men, camen fro Sichem, and fro Silo, and fro Samarie; and thei hadden yiftis and encense in the hond, for to offre in the hous of the Lord.

۶ 6 و اسماعیل بن نتنیا به استقبال ایشان از مصفه بیرون آمد و دررفتن گریه می‌کرد و چون به ایشان رسید گفت: «نزد جدلیا ابن اخیقام بیایید.»

Therfor Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, yede out of Masphath in to the metyng of hem; and he yede goynge and wepynge. Sotheli whanne he hadde met hem, he seide to hem, Come ye to Godolie, the sone of Aicham;

۷ 7 و هنگامی که ایشان به میان شهر رسیدند اسماعیل بن نتنیا وکسانی که همراهش بودند ایشان را کشته، درحفره انداختند.

and whanne thei weren comun to the myddis of the citee, Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, killide hem aboute the myddis of the lake, he and the men that weren with hym `killiden hem.

۸ 8 اما در میان ایشان ده نفر پیداشدند که به اسماعیل گفتند: «ما را مکش زیرا که ما را ذخیره‌ای از گندم و جو و روغن و عسل درصحرا می‌باشد.» پس ایشان را واگذاشته، در میان برادران ایشان نکشت.

But ten men weren foundun among hem, that seiden to Ismael, Nyle thou sle vs, for we han tresour of wheete, and of barli, and of oile, and of hony, in the feeld. And he ceesside, and killide not hem with her britheren.

۹ 9 و حفره‌ای که اسماعیل بدنهای همه کسانی را که به‌سبب جدلیا کشته در آن انداخته بود همان است که آسا پادشاه به‌سبب بعشا پادشاه اسرائیل ساخته بود و اسماعیل بن نتنیا آن را از کشتگان پرکرد.

Forsothe the lake in to which Ismael castide forth alle the careyns of men, whiche he killide for Godolie, is thilke lake, which kyng Asa made for Baasa, the kyng of Israel; Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, fillide that lake with slayn men.

۱۰ 10 پس اسماعیل تمامی بقیه قوم را که درمصفه بودند با دختران پادشاه و جمیع کسانی که در مصفه باقی‌مانده بودند که نبوزردان رئیس جلادان به جدلیا ابن اخیقام سپرده بود، اسیر ساخت و اسماعیل بن نتنیا ایشان را اسیر ساخته، می‌رفت تا نزد بنی عمون بگذرد.

And Ismael ledde prisoneris alle the remenauntis of the puple, that weren in Mesphath, the douytris of the kyng, and al the puple that dwelliden in Masphath, whiche Nabusardan, the prince of chyualrie, hadde bitakun to kepyng to Godolie, the sone of Aicham. And Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, took hem, and yede to passe ouer to the sones of Amon.

۱۱ 11 اما چون یوحانان بن قاریح و تمامی سرداران لشکری که همراهش بودند از تمامی فتنه‌ای که اسماعیل بن نتنیا کرده بود خبر یافتند،

Forsothe Johannan, the sone of Caree, and alle the princes of werriouris, that weren with hym, herden al the yuel, which Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, hadde do.

۱۲ 12 آنگاه جمیع کسان خود را برداشتند و به قصد مقاتله با اسماعیل بن نتنیا روانه شده، او را نزد دریاچه بزرگ که درجبعون است یافتند.

And whanne thei hadden take alle men, thei yeden forth to fiyte ayens Ismael, the sone of Nathanye; and thei foundun hym at the many watris, that ben in Gabaon.

۱۳ 13 و چون جمیع کسانی که بااسماعیل بودند یوحانان بن قاریح و تمامی سرداران لشکر را که همراهش بودند دیدندخوشحال شدند.

And whanne al the puple, that was with Ismael, hadden seyn Johannan, the sone of Caree, and alle the princes of werriouris, that weren with hym, thei weren glad.

۱۴ 14 و تمامی کسانی که اسماعیل از مصفه به اسیری می‌برد روتافته، برگشتند و نزدیوحانان بن قاریح آمدند.

And al the puple, whom Ismael hadde take in Masphath, turnede ayen; and it turnede ayen, and yede to Johannan, the sone of Caree.

۱۵ 15 اما اسماعیل بن نتنیابا هشت نفر از دست یوحانان فرار کرد و نزدبنی عمون رفت.

Forsothe Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, fledde with eiyte men fro the face of Johannan, and yede to the sones of Amon.

۱۶ 16 و یوحانان بن قاریح با همه سرداران لشکرکه همراهش بودند، تمامی بقیه قومی را که ازدست اسماعیل بن نتنیا از مصفه بعد از کشته شدن جدلیا ابن اخیقام خلاصی داده بود بگرفت، یعنی مردان دلیر جنگی و زنان و اطفال و خواجه‌سرایان را که ایشان را در جبعون خلاصی داده بود؛

Therfor Johannan, the sone of Caree, and alle the princes of werriours, that weren with hym, token alle the remenauntis of the comyn puple, whiche thei brouyten ayen fro Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, that weren of Masphat, aftir that he killide Godolie, the sone of Aicham; he took strong men to batel, and wymmen, and children, and geldyngis, whiche he hadde brouyt ayen fro Gabaon.

۱۷ 17 و ایشان رفته، در جیروت کمهام که نزدبیت لحم است منزل گرفتند تا بروند و به مصرداخل شوند،

And thei yeden, and saten beynge pilgryms in Canaan, which is bisidis Bethleem, that thei schulden go, and entre in to Egipt fro the face of Caldeis;

۱۸ 18 به‌سبب کلدانیان زیرا که از ایشان می‌ترسیدند چونکه اسماعیل بن نتنیا جدلیا ابن اخیقام را که پادشاه بابل او را حاکم زمین قرار داده بود کشته بود.

for thei dredden thilke Caldeis, for Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, hadde slayn Godolie, the sone of Aicham, whom the kyng Nabugodonosor hadde maad souereyn in the lond of Juda.
