اشعیا 31

۱ 1 وای بر آنانی که به جهت اعانت به مصرفرود آیند و بر اسبان تکیه نمایند و برارابه‌ها زانرو که کثیرند و بر سواران زانرو که بسیارقوی‌اند توکل کنند اما بسوی قدوس اسرائیل نظرنکنند و خداوند را طلب ننمایند.

Woe vnto them that goe downe into Egypt for helpe, and stay vpon horses, and trust in charets, because they are many, and in horsemen, because they be very strong: but they looke not vnto the holy one of Israel, nor seeke vnto the Lord.

۲ 2 و او نیز حکیم است و بلا را می‌آورد و کلام خود را برنخواهدگردانید و به ضد خاندان شریران و اعانت بدکاران خواهد برخاست.

But he yet is wisest: therefore he wil bring euill, and not turne backe his worde, but he will arise against the house of the wicked, and against the helpe of them that worke vanitie.

۳ 3 اما مصریان انسانند و نه خداو اسبان ایشان جسدند و نه روح و خداوند دست خود را دراز می‌کند و اعانت کننده را لغزان و اعانت کرده شده را افتان گردانیده هر دوی ایشان هلاک خواهند شد.

Now the Egyptians are men, and not God, and their horses flesh and not spirite: and when the Lord shall stretch out his hand, the helper shall fall, and hee that is holpen shall fall, and they shall altogether faile.

۴ 4 زیرا خداوند به من چنین گفته است چنانکه شیر و شیر ژیان بر شکار خود غرش می‌نمایدهنگامی که گروه شبانان بروی جمع شوند و ازصدای ایشان نترسیده از غوغای ایشان سر فرونمی آورد همچنان یهوه صبایوت نزول می‌فرماید تا برای کوه صهیون و تل آن مقاتله نماید.

For thus hath the Lord spoken vnto me, As the lyon or lyons whelpe roareth vpon his praye, against whom if a multitude of shepheards be called, hee will not be afraide at their voyce, neither will humble him selfe at their noise: so shall the Lord of hostes come downe to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.

۵ 5 مثل مرغان که در طیران باشند همچنان یهوه صبایوت اورشلیم را حمایت خواهد نمود وحمایت کرده، آن را رستگار خواهد ساخت و ازآن درگذشته، خلاصی خواهد داد.

As birds that flie, so shall the Lord of hostes defend Ierusalem by defending and deliuering, by passing through and preseruing it.

۶ 6 ‌ای بنی‌اسرائیل بسوی آن کس که بر وی بینهایت عصیان ورزیده‌اید بازگشت نمایید.

O ye children of Israel, turne againe, in as much as ye are sunken deepe in rebellion.

۷ 7 زیرا که در آن روز هر کدام از ایشان بتهای نقره وبتهای طلای خود را که دستهای شما آنها را به جهت گناه خویش ساخته است ترک خواهندنمود.

For in that day euery man shall cast out his idoles of siluer, and his idoles of golde, which your handes haue made you, euen a sinne.

۸ 8 آنگاه آشور به شمشیری که از انسان نباشد خواهد افتاد و تیغی که از انسان نباشد او راهلاک خواهد ساخت و او از شمشیر خواهدگریخت و جوانانش خراج گذار خواهند شد.

Then shall Asshur fall by the sworde, not of man, neither shall the sworde of man deuoure him, and hee shall flee from the sworde, and his yong men shall faint.

۹ 9 وصخره او از ترس زایل خواهد شد و سرورانش ازعلم مبهوت خواهند گردید. یهوه که آتش او درصهیون و کوره وی در اورشلیم است این رامی گوید.

And he shall go for feare to his towre, and his princes shall be afraide of the standart, sayeth the Lord, whose fire is in Zion, and his fornace in Ierusalem.
