اشعیا 29

۱ 1 وای بر اریئیل! وای بر اریئیل! شهری که داود در آن خیمه زد. سال بر سال مزید کنید و عیدها دور زنند.

Ah, Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add ye year to year, let the feasts come round!

۲ 2 و من اریئیل را به تنگی خواهم‌انداخت و ماتم و نوحه گری خواهد بود و آن برای من مثل اریئیل خواهد بود.

Then will I distress Ariel, and there shall be mourning and moaning; and she shall be unto Me as a hearth of God.

۳ 3 و بر توبه هر طرف اردو زده، تو را به باره‌ها محاصره خواهم نمود و منجنیقها بر تو خواهم افراشت.

And I will encamp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mound, and I will raise siege works against thee.

۴ 4 و به زیر افکنده شده، از زمین تکلم خواهی نمودو کلام تو از میان غبار پست خواهد گردید و آوازتو از زمین مثل آواز جن خواهد بود و زبان تو ازمیان غبار زمزم خواهد کرد.

And brought down thou shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust; and thy voice shall be as of a ghost out of the ground, and thy speech shall chirp out of the dust.

۵ 5 اما گروه دشمنانت مثل گرد نرم خواهند شد و گروه ستم کیشان مانندکاه که می‌گذرد و این بغته در لحظه‌ای واقع خواهد شد.

But the multitude of thy foes shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones as chaff that passeth away; yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly —

۶ 6 و از جانب یهوه صبایوت با رعد وزلزله و صوت عظیم و گردباد و طوفان و شعله آتش سوزنده از تو پرسش خواهد شد.

There shall be a visitation from the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with whirlwind and tempest, and the flame of a devouring fire.

۷ 7 وجمعیت تمام امت هایی که با اریئیل جنگ می‌کنند یعنی تمامی آنانی که بر او و بر قلعه وی مقاتله می‌نمایند و او را بتنگ می‌آورند مثل خواب و رویای شب خواهند شد.

And the multitude of all the nations that war against Ariel, even all that war against her, and the bulwarks about her, and they that distress her, shall be as a dream, a vision of the night.

۸ 8 و مثل شخص گرسنه که خواب می‌بیند که می‌خورد وچون بیدار شود شکم او تهی است. یا شخص تشنه که خواب می‌بیند که آب می‌نوشد و چون بیدار شود اینک ضعف دارد و جانش مشتهی می‌باشد. همچنین تمامی جماعت امت هایی که باکوه صهیون جنگ می‌کنند خواهند شد.

And it shall be as when a hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth, but he awaketh, and his soul is empty; or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh, but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite — so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.

۹ 9 درنگ کنید و متحیر باشید و تمتع برید وکور باشید. ایشان مست می‌شوند لیکن نه ازشراب و نوان می‌گردند اما نه از مسکرات.

Stupefy yourselves, and be stupid! Blind yourselves, and be blind! ye that are drunken, but not with wine, that stagger, but not with strong drink.

۱۰ 10 زیراخداوند بر شما روح خواب سنگین را عارض گردانیده، چشمان شما را بسته است. و انبیا وروسای شما یعنی رائیان را محجوب کرده است.

For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes; the prophets, and your heads, the seers, hath He covered.

۱۱ 11 و تمامی رویا برای شما مثل کلام تومارمختوم گردیده است که آن را به کسی‌که خواندن می داند داده، می‌گویند: این را بخوان و اومی گوید: نمی توانم چونکه مختوم است.

And the vision of all this is become unto you as the words of a writing that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying: 'Read this, I pray thee'; and he saith: 'I cannot, for it is sealed';

۱۲ 12 و آن طومار را به کسی‌که خواندن نداند داده، می‌گوینداین را بخوان و او می‌گوید خواندن نمی دانم.

and the writing is delivered to him that is not learned, saying: 'Read this, I pray thee'; and he saith: 'I am not learned.'

۱۳ 13 و خداوند می‌گوید: «چونکه این قوم ازدهان خود به من تقرب می‌جویند و به لبهای خویش مرا تمجید می‌نمایند اما دل خود را از من دور کرده‌اند و ترس ایشان از من وصیتی است که از انسان آموخته‌اند،

And the Lord said: Forasmuch as this people draw near, and with their mouth and with their lips do honour Me, but have removed their heart far from Me, and their fear of Me is a commandment of men learned by rote;

۱۴ 14 بنابراین اینک من بار دیگربا این قوم عمل عجیب و غریب بجا خواهم آوردو حکمت حکیمان ایشان باطل و فهم فهیمان ایشان مستور خواهد شد.»

Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the prudence of their prudent men shall be hid.

۱۵ 15 وای بر آنانی که مشورت خود را از خداوندبسیار عمیق پنهان می‌کنند و اعمال ایشان درتاریکی می‌باشد و می‌گویند: «کیست که مارا ببیندو کیست که ما را بشناسد؟»

Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say: 'Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?'

۱۶ 16 ‌ای زیر و زبرکنندگان هرچیز! آیا کوزه‌گر مثل گل محسوب شود یا مصنوع درباره صانع خود گوید مرانساخته است و یا تصویر درباره مصورش گویدکه فهم ندارد؟

O your perversity! Shall the potter be esteemed as clay; that the thing made should say of him that made it: 'He made me not'; or the thing framed say of him that framed it: 'He hath no understanding?'

۱۷ 17 آیا در اندک زمانی واقع نخواهدشد که لبنان به بوستان مبدل گردد و بوستان به جنگل محسوب شود؟

Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?

۱۸ 18 و در آن روز کران کلام کتاب را خواهند شنید و چشمان کوران از میان ظلمت و تاریکی خواهد دید.

And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of a book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness.

۱۹ 19 و حلیمان شادمانی خود را در خداوند مزید خواهند کرد ومسکینان مردمان در قدوس اسرائیل وجدخواهند نمود.

The humble also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the neediest among men shall exult in the Holy One of Israel.

۲۰ 20 زیرا که ستمگران نابود واستهزاکنندگان معدوم خواهند شد و پیروان شرارت منقطع خواهند گردید.

For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner ceaseth, and all they that watch for iniquity are cut off;

۲۱ 21 که انسان را به سخنی مجرم می‌سازند و برای کسی‌که در محکمه حکم می‌کند دام می‌گسترانند و عادل رابه بطالت منحرف می‌سازند.

That make a man an offender by words, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just with a thing of nought.

۲۲ 22 بنابراین خداوندکه ابراهیم را فدیه داده است درباره خاندان یعقوب چنین می‌گوید که از این به بعد یعقوب خجل نخواهد شد و رنگ چهره‌اش دیگرنخواهد پرید.

Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob: Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale;

۲۳ 23 بلکه چون فرزندان خود را که عمل دست من می‌باشند در میان خویش بیندآنگاه ایشان اسم مرا تقدیس خواهند نمود وقدوس یعقوب را تقدیس خواهند کرد و ازخدای اسرائیل خواهند ترسید.

When he seeth his children, the work of My hands, in the midst of him, that they sanctify My name; yea, they shall sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall stand in awe of the God of Israel.

۲۴ 24 و آنانی که روح گمراهی دارند فهیم خواهند شد و متمردان تعلیم را خواهند آموخت.

They also that err in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmur shall learn instruction.
