اشعیا 16

۱ 1 بره‌ها را که خراج حاکم زمین است ازسالع بسوی بیابان به کوه دختر صهیون بفرستید.

Send ye the lambs for the ruler of the land from the crags that are toward the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.

۲ 2 و دختران موآب مثل مرغان آواره ومانند آشیانه ترک شده نزد معبرهای ارنون خواهند شد.

For it shall be that, as wandering birds, as a scattered nest, so shall the daughters of Moab be at the fords of Arnon.

۳ 3 مشورت بدهید و انصاف را بجاآورید، و سایه خود را در وقت ظهر مثل شب بگردان. رانده شدگان را پنهان کن و فراریان راتسلیم منما.

'Give counsel, execute justice; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; betray not the fugitive.

۴ 4 ‌ای موآب بگذار که رانده شدگان من نزد تو ماوا گزینند. و برای ایشان از روی تاراج کننده پناه گاه باش. زیرا ظالم نابود می‌شود وتاراج کننده تمام می‌گردد و ستمکار از زمین تلف خواهد شد.

Let mine outcasts dwell with thee; as for Moab, be thou a covert to him from the face of the spoiler.' For the extortion is at an end, spoiling ceaseth, they that trampled down are consumed out of the land;

۵ 5 و کرسی به رحمت استوار خواهدگشت و کسی به راستی بر آن در خیمه داودخواهد نشست که داوری کند و انصاف را بطلبد وبه جهت عدالت تعجیل نماید.

And a throne is established through mercy, and there sitteth thereon in truth, in the tent of David, one that judgeth, and seeketh justice, and is ready in righteousness.

۶ 6 غرور موآب و بسیاری تکبر و خیلاء و کبر وخشم او را شنیدیم و فخر او باطل است.

We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud; even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his arrogancy, his ill-founded boastings.

۷ 7 بدین سبب موآب به جهت موآب ولوله می‌کند وتمامی ایشان ولوله می‌نمایند. به جهت بنیادهای قیر حارست ناله می‌کنید زیرا که بالکل مضروب می‌شود.

Therefore shall Moab wail for Moab, every one shall wail; for the sweet cakes of Kir-hareseth shall ye mourn, sorely stricken.

۸ 8 زیرا که مزرعه های حشبون و موهای سبمه پژمرده شد و سروران امت‌ها تاکهایش راشکستند. آنها تا به یعزیر رسیده بود و در بیابان پراکنده می‌شد و شاخه هایش منتشر شده، از دریامی گذشت.

For the fields of Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah, whose choice plants did overcome the lords of nations; they reached even unto Jazer, they wandered into the wilderness; her branches were spread abroad, they passed over the sea.

۹ 9 بنابراین برای مو سبمه به گریه یعزیرخواهم گریست. ای حشبون و العاله شما را بااشکهای خود سیراب خواهم ساخت زیرا که برمیوه‌ها و انگورهایت گلبانگ افتاده است.

Therefore I will weep with the weeping of Jazer for the vine of Sibmah; I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh; for upon thy summer fruits and upon thy harvest the battle shout is fallen.

۱۰ 10 شادی و ابتهاج از بستانها برداشته شد و در تاکستانها ترنم و آواز شادمانی نخواهد بود وکسی شراب را در چرخشتها پایمال نمی کند. صدای شادمانی را خاموش گردانیدم.

And gladness and joy are taken away out of the fruitful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither shall there be shouting; no treader shall tread out wine in the presses; I have made the vintage shout to cease.

۱۱ 11 لهذااحشای من مثل بربط به جهت موآب صدا می‌زندو بطن من برای قیر حارس.

Wherefore my heart moaneth like a harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kir-heres.

۱۲ 12 و هنگامی که موآب در مکان بلند خود حاضر شده، خویشتن را خسته کند و به مکان مقدس خود برای دعابیاید کامیاب نخواهد شد.

And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab hath wearied himself upon the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail

۱۳ 13 این است کلامی که خداوند درباره موآب از زمان قدیم گفته است.

This is the word that the LORD spoke concerning Moab in time past.

۱۴ 14 اما الان خداوند تکلم نموده، می‌گوید که بعد از سه سال مثل سالهای مزدور جلال موآب با تمامی جماعت کثیر اومحقر خواهد شد و بقیه آن بسیار کم و بی‌قوت خواهند گردید.

But now the LORD hath spoken, saying: 'Within three years, as the years of a hireling, and the glory of Moab shall wax contemptible for all his great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and without strength.'
